My theory is that at the end of the season, the group will be divided into 2 groups led by Kenny and Luke, wanting to go their separate ways, and Clementine will have to choose one to go with, and she'll end the season with that group. Perhaps the 'group' is just Kenny or Luke, that'd be more reasonable than two whole different group possibilities for season 3(if there is a season 3).
I don't understand why anyone would trust Luke more over Kenny. I mean, we just met the guy and don't know him THAT well to be able to fully trust him. We already know Kenny very well and we know to what extent he would go in an extreme situation. e.g., the Larry situation. People are not always what they seem. Remember the St. Johns? For all we know, Luke could be working with Carver. We have to get to know the "darker" side of Luke to at least know what he's capable of. Until then, I would pick Kenny.
Sounds like a good theory. It would be interesting if the final episode ended that way and your choice got carried over in that way. [and I hope there's a season 3 that'd be so cool]

Ever since Kenny smashed in Larry's head he has been a total jerk to deal with, He get's drunk all the time. He wouldn't help save Clementine after everything else Lee did for him, he is a Jerk. He wouldn't kill his own son, so he made Lee do it.
Now it is season 2. I don't know i guess Luke. Kenny is nuts.

I don't know...can I go alone? I don't trust Luke, not a bit...something just seems off about that guy. Not only does he seem...I don't know, I think two-faced is the word, but Walter was a nice guy, and you could tell that about him by just being around him for a little while, but I was around Luke since Episode 1 and he just doesn't feel right to me. I don't know, call me paranoid. Kenny was a cool guy, until he chose to smash Larry's face in, and now, with the loss of his family and maybe the possible loss of Sarita, I think he may snap. I'd probably prefer to go with Carlos or Nick then one of those two.
Kenny without question
He is the last person Clementine can call 'family' anymore. He was with her from the beginning and I want him to st… moreick around till the end. I don't trust Luke, I dunno why everyone is so open to him. We know nothing of his past life, he's to 'nice' and overall he has done nothing to stick up for Clem but acts like he has earned the right to be bestfriends with her.
At the dinner table when you ask to stay with Kenny he gets all uptight about it like you should want to stay with him. I trust Nick more than I trust Luke. I just can't connect with him, he's Mr.Perfect.
"Hey the group is in danger, better run off" At least Kenny had the balls to stick around.
It's a no brainier for me to be honest. Kenny all the way and I know I'm gonna get slaughtered for hating on Telltales new writing tool Luke but I don't want him forced on me.
But i hope Kenny and Luke respect each other at the end of season. I like Kenny Character, but he not show how much like Clem in season 1 (This thing, don't mean hate, but they never talked, hugged each other etc.).
If you said "bad thing" to Luke, he is still calm. Kenny can't still calm.
Even though I don't understand why Clem would be happy to see Kenny after The Stranger, (especially in my playthrough because he didn't go with Lee to go and find her, he was the only one who stopped behind which seems pretty harsh considering he's happy to see her again.) I'd have to say Kenny. Even though he can be a jerk at times he would do anything to protect his friends; including Clementine, plus he only has Clementine and Sarita left, he would do anything to keep them with him no matter what.
Plus, Luke is very mysterious and I think that there is something really really dodgy with him, as they say, "Stranger Danger".
I think Kenny's about to snap, and I didn't like him refusing to let clem stay with her friends, so Luke.
I would trust season 1 Ken more, but he's about to break.
I suppose that' where we differ, because I disagree that everyone else is a jerk'. I think all of the people in the group are good people.
To be honest,. Clem knows hardly anything about Kenny from season 2 as she never spoke to him. She saw his most irrational actions in fact, and missed his most heroic ones.
On the other hand,. Clem herself has had a lot of personal interaction with Luke, and more than she had with Kenny.
Also, Luke doesn't tell you that you can't stay with Kenny, whereas Kenny does so the other way round.
Luke is in a position to be much more trusted by Clementine herself, as they have had more personal interaction, and so I believe it would be best for her to stay with Luke. Especially as Kenny may be about to do something really really stupid because of his fragile mental state.

With what I know right now, if I had to choose, I'd go with Luke.
Kenny is emitting some serious warning signs that things are not all that well in his head. He's been pretty much a broken man since his escape from Savannah, even with Sarita in his life he's still teetering on the edge. Re-introducing Clementine into the picture has probably brought him even closer to that edge - he desperately wants to return to the life he knew back at the motor inn, back when he felt complete with a family. Sadly, I hate to admit it, Kenny is actually a serious danger to Clementine. If Clem can't or won't fit into Kenny's fantasy of the way things were, he may lash out in a rage that may hurt or even kill Clementine.
I think people saying Kenny are vastly over-estimating just how much of a bond Clementine has with Kenny. Let's see, what has Clementine and Kenny's bond been... A cute joke about spiders in her hair, possibly down-time dialogue at the Motor Inn... Dropping a Salt Lick on someone's head, not being there for her best friend's death for the most part... Going utterly insane about boats, threatening to kill Ben (and the possible Ben incident afterward) despite Clementine being quite clear that Ben is her friend, annnnd that's it.
Clementine had a bond with Lee. And Katjaa. And Duck. There's even an implied bond with Lilly with giving her hair ties and being protected, directly, by her in episode 2. I'm willing to believe just because Kenny is family oriented that off-screen maybe there's a little bit of positivity there, but there's just as much implying that Kenny was too busy with politics/Lilly/the RV/hunting/etc. to really hang out with a little girl. Too busy. Not even his fault, though. These were priorities for him.
I would argue that in the mere two episodes provided so far Luke has been a much stronger bond, not to mention way more character interaction with Clementine. Most of Kenny's good moments (When you have his back regardless of... well, whatever happens to be going on at the time) are with Lee, in private, when Clementine is tucked back at camp/the rv/kidnapped. If its Clementine making this choice, I don't see how Kenny can compete. There seems to be an awful lot of mistaking Lee's choices and bonds for Clementines imo.
Well 1st off, excellent question sir.
My congratulations.
It's really a mind bender!
I would have to say Kenny.
Not just because Kenny and Lee, ( in my play through), were pals.
But also cause I know more what to expect from Kenny.
Granted Kenny has a short fuse, which does get difficult to deal with at times.
And yes he is prone to panicking, which also gets hard to deal with.
But then again, I'm like that myself so I am able to sympathize with the guy on that.
And as far as Kenny not being mentally strong, well one thing that must be taken into account is, Kenny lost both his wife and his son in one day.
You can't be a human being, and not have something like that affect you.
Think about it!
Something like that can literally take decades to get over, and Kenny's had only been a little over 2 yrs.
And sadly, some people never do quite heal.
Some people have been known to go insane after experiencing severe loss.
And there's no indication, neither verbal nor visual, that suggests that happened to Kenny.
Now I know some people will no doubt try to use episodes 4 and 5 of season 1 to say that he did.
But remember that those episodes take place over a time period of only 36 to 48 hrs game time.
And he wasn't hallucinating, but rather was angry and grieved.
Who wouldn't be!?
But just because he expressed those kind of emotions does not mean he went insane, what he has gone through is unimaginable loss.
And, as far as Kenny coercing the player to drop Ben, well that decision is left up to the player.
The player bears the responsibility for that choice, as well as any other he/she makes in the game.
And think about it, since Ben did inadvertently kill Kenny's family, is Kenny's wanting Ben dead so unreasonable?
If someone had something like that to you, wouldn't you to wish to see them pay for it?
Something to think about.
Some might even call him disloyal.
But think about this, if you don't back someone up, especially if their your friend and when it counts, why should they do the same for you?
That does not make any damn sense, it's totally unreasonable.
To have friends, you have to be one 1st.
And that includes having their back!
So really, to say Kenny went insane, or that he is not mentally strong, or that he's unsympathetic or disloyal is very unfair.
And quite frankly, it gets tiring defending Kenny against those kinda accusations.
But I digress!
I would choose Kenny.
Not only has he survived mental trauma that can understandably break a person, but he's also still manages to keep an optimistic spirit.
Not just anyone can do that!
And not only does Kenny have a positive outlook, but he also is fiercely loyal to his friends.
If you have his back, he has yours.
He even showed loyalty to strangers, when Carver took them hostage along with his own people, by trying to save them.
I'd say, his optimism, loyalty, and resiliency far outweigh his short temper.
While I can see that Kenny is losing it, I don't blame him, and he could be a lot worse. I like Luke and I would want to go with him and if I was Clem, I'd try to make them both get along before choosing one or the other, but since the game would make me pick if it did, my first pick would be Kenny mostly because he feels the most like family. Lee trusted him (for the most part depending on your choices) and I do too.

Nice to have fan!
I must say, I do not understand why some people continue to take pot-shots at Kenny, especially after they've seen all the crap he's been through.
In Kenny's own words: " Oh give me a fuckin' break!"

Luke. Kenny has anger issues, and would probably drink the whole way there and get us stranded somewhere. Luke on the other hand is much more reliable, and holds a calm demeanor in stressful situations. Kenny... not so much.
I would have to choose Kenny. Although i like Luke a lot is nice, funny and we haven't seen any of his flaws yet, Kenny helped me all the time in Season 1 and although he can be short tempered he know's how to take care of a child and will do anything to assure Clem's safety.
Also we don't even know what has happened to Luke and if he's even alive or working with carver or what.

Don't you remember Job J's tweet?

I'll give him the old Yeller treatment.
At the moment though, I think Luke has his head on more straight, but I know Kenny better. I honestly have no idea how to answer this. :S
