I do not think anything is wrong with Kenny.

A lot of people say that because of how generally happy-go-lucky Kenny is in episode two. Looking back at epsiodes four and five of season one. You can tell Kenny was terribly depressed, he wanted to find a boat, to get to a safer place, and when that failed, he basically gave up. After he attempted to sacrifice himself, and survived, and met Sarita, the couple FOUND a safe place, with plentiful food, power, and even a goddamn Christmas Tree. Kenny probably thought that he would never see any of these things again. Then Clementine came (with Carver following) and fucked everything up for him. But also, Kenny got to see a little girl that he thought was long dead.

  • That's true, but what about when Sarita wanted to carry the box and Kenny snapped, because he wanted to help.
  • Kenny has always had anger issues like that.

  • He's a bit bipolar. I think that could possibly cause something very bad to happen with him...

  • I don't think he's completely nuts. But, from what I've seen, I think he's worse than he seems. He does look a little too happy to be in the apocalypse, but that could just be a way of coping with all the shit he's been through. It's the way he snaps at Sarita that worries me. It's not like he's gonna go crazy and try to kill everyone, but, like Sarita says, he seems to be struggling.
  • Let's be honest here. Sarita is pretty much Katjaa. And with how Kenny accidentally calls Clem "Duck" to me it shows that he still hasn't come to terms with losing his family. And if he loses Sarita, I imagine he would be way worse off than he was when he lost Kat and Duck.

I don't know why you got downvoted for saying things that are true. And Clementine is going to remind him more of Duck and those times!

  • yeah, i didn't think that whole ordeal with the ornaments was telling of anything. i was just like "yeah thats just about the same old kenny". when he called clem duck though, that started to get me thinking about his mental state.

Kenny has always had anger issues like that.

  • Hmm... i've always seen Kenny as more of a shovel, but I may be wrong ;)

He's trying to replace his dead family. Which normally wouldn't be too strange, but his insistence on using Clementine to replace Duck, and his reactions if you don't go along with what he wants is definitely a bit crazy. His mood swings aswell, they are too jarring.

There is something definitely up with him. His willingness to kill when Carver showed up, and his seeming ENJOYMENT of it make him look even crazier.
He's unhinged, but we probably won't see just how messed up he is until the next episode.
  • I try not to worry about down votes. Not my problem people can't see.

  • It's just loyalty to some characters, I guess..

  • I just hope that they aren't completely blind to the fact Kenny is a hothead with an itchy trigger finger.

  • I don't think anything is wrong with him, he's doing his best to cope and move on. Sadly, that isn't always possible, which is why he called Clementine Duck, especially considering she probably reminded him of those days.
  • I hope so too. I only like him in Season Two cause he's from Lee's group.

  • I think he's a good guy.The only thing that I didn't like at him was when he killed Larry for no fucking reason.I know he was trying to protect his family and when he tried to save ben, that makes one of my favorites. He cares about the safety of others, and that's what a good man does
  • Nothing is wrong with him. He's the same old Kenny.

I actually don't agree with this. My own mother sometimes calls me the wrong name. It really isn't that weird that Kenny accidentally called Clem "Duck".

As for Sarita, is Kenny not allowed to be in a relationship? Not sure why it has to be assumed that he is trying to replace Katjaa.

  • i think something is wrong, how the heck do you get out of a crowd of zombies like that with nothing wrong? Lee had one hiding behind a friggin board and got mauled...i think theres going to be some sick twist with him eventually.
    just a thought !
  • I just think he has a bigger temper.
  • that might be it. cant blame him. who knows, i just thought it was too good to be true

I just think he has a bigger temper.

  • In fact something has been wrong with Kenny since the beginning. But I hope he changed. We will know when e3 is finally out.
  • I don't think Kenny's really lost it, either. Calling Clem Duck doesn't really mean Kenny's losing it. I lost a dog I had for 9 years (since she was a puppy) last year and a year later me and my family still accidentally call our other dog that looks similar to her by the name of the dog I lost. My parents sometimes even call my new dog by my first dog's name and he's been dead 10 years. Everyone has their moments where they might flip back to an earlier time. Doesn't mean any of us are losing our mind. In a way, it shows we haven't forgotten those we lost and they're still on our mind.

Now if Kenny continues to call Clem Duck and starts to treat her as his dead son, then starts to call Sarita Katjaa, then I would say Kenny's lost his marbles, but as of right now, it just appears it was a momentary lapse of memory which would be perfectly normal.

It's also the zombie apocalypse. Who's going to really be sane two years in after seeing family and friends turn or be torn to pieces? If you're sane, you'll end up dead. If you're off your rocker, you're going to end up dead. If you teeter between sanity and insanity, you're going to end up dead. Does it matter if Kenny's lost it or not? He'll likely end up dead by episode 5 anyway. I very much doubt Telltale will save him for a third season as much as I would like to see him make it. Question comes down to whether another human kills him or a walker ... or he commits suicide.
