Do you feel that Ben needed some sort of father figure or friend?

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
I honestly think that some of Ben's fuck ups could have been prevented if he had someone smart with him or had some body to tell him to think more rationally about the situation. He seems to act without thinking ahead or just thinking in general and didn't have anyone he could relate to or knew before hand in the group. That led to him being untrusted and with no one to vouch for him when he's in trouble. I honestly think that having Travis or David(depending on if you cut David's leg off) survive to sort of guide Ben to a more "right"(or less fuck-up filled) way by telling him to think or decide for him.

(also,my name is a joke. Not relevant to the thread in anyway)

    My Lee was trying that.

    Did it work? ...debatable.
  • But Ben is useful for the walkers. Free meals from the "accidental" deaths.

  • Ben: "I killed half the group"
    Lee: "It's ok kiddo"
No, I think regardless Ben was going to fuck up. I guess It's just how Lee handles the situation, either treat him like a fuck up or treat him like less of a fuck up. Bit of both from me I guess.
  • Well the Bandit and Crawford situations could have probably wouldn't have happened the way they did if someone told Ben to use the muscles in his head that he may or may not have.

  • If he'd just told the group that he had a deal with the bandits to keep them off their backs then we would of had time to get packed up and ready to get outta there in the RV. The Crawford situation is just ... Like anyone who has even the most limited amount of brain cells would not even do that.

But wasn't the RV not fixed yet until that exact day?

  • He wasn't simply holding them off, he fell for something incredibly stupid that cost them their home, a lot of supplies, and 4 group members. He didn't want to say because Lilly would have murdered him as soon as he made mention of going through her shit.

  • It isn't my first language, either. And I wasn't correcting you, Raf. More like giving my suggestion.
