Lilly's affection for Clementine.
Have any of you guys noticed how Lilly cares about Clem? I mean, I know most of the group did care about Clementine, but her affection is a bit deeper. In episode 2, when you about to get out of the barn, to save the others. She tells Lee, that she'll keep Clementine safe. And later that episode, in the tape recorder, you can see her interacting with Clementine. Then in episode 3 when you talk to Lilly, when she talks Lee. She tells him, ''What if Clementine becomes sick''. So which makes her main concern Clementine. And finally, she gives Clem ''hair thingies''. Just thought I could share this with you guys.

She was a nice person before she became mentally unstable.
She wasn't driven to do anything. She killed her without any evidence, out of anger and crazyness!
" She was a nice person before she became mentally unstable. "
Atleast we can agree on that! (And she was never a " nice " person, honestly...in my opinion)
Kenny also just tried to abandon her to a crowd of walkers by driving away without her in the RV ('Screw her, let her stay'), after she just saved them from the bandits.
Just like Kenny goes completely silent after losing his family: people react to grief in different, unpredictable ways.
'she was never a "nice" person, honestly'
In your opinion.
Both Kenny and Lilly can be harsh and all way's fight for being the leader
However one thing I must point out is, if you let her stay after she kills Carly, and even if you agree to go with her, she STILL leaves both you and Clementine behind.
That to me proves that whatever affection she had for Clementine, when her ass was on the line, she would look after herself and disregard anyone else who depended on her.
So in short, I'd say her love for Clementine was not genuine.
If it were, Lilly would not have abandoned her.
Her actions prove, that she had no real love for Clementine, nor anyone else, as she abandoned everyone else.
Just like Shane and Carl.
Shane may have made outward expressions of love and concern for Carl.
But when Shane attempted to murder Rick, knowing full well what it would do to Carl, that showed that his so-called love for Carl was not genuine.
It showed that he had no genuine love for anyone.
If you truly love someone, then you will do what's best for them, and not yourself.
That's not saying that it's not good to take time for yourself every now and again.
Periodically taking time for yourself is good, and at times even necessary.
But when you TRULY care about someone else, you won't make your own concerns your top priority.
But rather give the person's interests and desires top priority.
Lilly proved that her love was not sincere, and that it was all superficial.
Like it or not, that is the truth.
In the barn, she only vows to look after Clementine if Lee sides with her. In other words, it was for Lee, not Clementine. At that, if you choose to side with Kenny and help kill Larry, she is willing to let Lee die and just watch his face be fried by Andy St John, all while Clementine is watching.
She says "what if Clementine gets sick?" as leverage to prove her point in the argument. If she were talking to Kenny, she no doubt would have brought up Katjaa and Duck. If she were talking to Carley/Doug, she probably would have brought up Lee, as which ever one Lee saves seems to become closer to Lee than the other members of the group. She probably just did it as leverage.
I'm not denying she cares about Clementine, just some of your points seem a bit misguided.
And if you listen to the way her and Kenny argue, it makes sense.
She didn't want to leave the motor inn, and so she brought up lack of food, medicine, anything she could to justify her position.
I know people like her.
And it doesn't matter how reasonable you try to be with them, you're always wrong, and they'll bring up whatever they can to make themselves appear to be in the right.
Or if they just want their way about something, when you try to have a reasonable discussion with them as to why it what they want won't work.
That includes bringing up old problems and/or disagreements, even if they happened years ago, guilt tripping, or even outright bullying attempts.
And it's those kinds of people that I strongly recommend to stay the hell away from.
You'll be much happier if you do.
I guess that's always been one of my strengths, and that is having a strong analytical mind.
Nightmares
No sleep
Irritable
Think about this.
Ben was young and didn't have the benefit of having lived as long as Lee, Kenny or Lilly
So he's bound to make some naive mistakes.
Also, no one ever seemed to show confidence in him.
That kind of treatment does nothing for a persons self-esteem or confidence.
And it's been proven that if you treat someone like they are stupid or incompetent, they'll eventually believe it to be true.
And it's also been proven true that how a person thinks of themself, or how they've been taught to think about themself, is how they will act.
That's why, as Lee, I tried to show confidence in Ben, and I was good to him.
The way I saw it, he was a good kid that no one ever gave a chance to.
So I tried to give him every chance possible, even standing up for him when doing so put me at odds with everyone else.
And does that make him a bad guy?
No, it takes a lot more than just a medical condition to make someone good or bad.
Case and point.
I know a guy who served in Vietnam, back in 1970, one the most violent periods of the war.
As a result, he has ptsd.
But in spite of his condition he is a good and decent man.
He raised a wonderful daughter, he's a good husband, and a good friend.
I like Kenny, i just don't agree with the choices he made. If i didn't like him i wouldn't of killed his son for him.
Meanwhile, Kenny basically had no one to blame for his loved ones' deaths besides himself. He failed to look out for Katjaa and Duck when they needed him, so of course he would instead react with guilt and depression (as well as try to push the blame onto other people, like Ben).
I don't think it's really fair to say Lilly reacting to Larry's death more badly than Kenny did with his family is any indication of whether or not Lilly is a bad person, since that argument requires basically removing all context from their situations besides "their families died".
