Saddest ending I can think of.

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
I like sad endings. I find them thought provoking. Imagine this: It's Episode 5. Everyone but a few are left. Our only survivors are Clementine, Luke and Kenny. They finished Carver and his goons, but everyone else is dead. The trio reaches Wellington, only to find a ghost town overrun with Walkers. All hope is lost. Just when they thought things couldn't get any worse, two unseen zombies get Luke and Kenny. The game's final choice. Luke or Kenny? You make your choice, you save one at the cost of the other. Clem and her only remaining friend sit to talk about their next move. Suddenly, their fallen partner is a victim of zombification, and it happened fast. Clem grabs her gun, but it is too late. Both are a walker, or will soon be one. Clem puts them both out of their misery. Clem sits to relax again, but realizes the two shots she fired would attract more walkers. Clem has no hope, but she continues on, sad and alone.

Wait... So while Luke and Kenny are getting attacked, Clem has enough time to sit down and talk to her friend about what they should do? Makes no sense.
  • I think so too, but I think its a fitting ending for a series that goes by the "No Happy Endings" and "Everyone Dies" way of thinking.

    :'( Yap, that's sad.

  • Clem saves one, by the time she is done, the other is already dead. I forgot to add that she'd kill the walkers, but forget to kill the survivor with all the tragedy and such.

  • If this happens, I will literally jump out my window and hopefully land in my pool.
  • Don't know if a good or bad thing...lol

That doesn't really feel like much of an ending to me, IMO.

Season 1's ending was sad, but wrapped things up beautifully. All the characters were given satisfying exits, Lee had saved Clementine and succeeded in his goal the whole game of keeping her alive, Lee was given some touching last moments with the person he cared about most...this would kind of just be 'Well, everyone is dead. Here are some credits now.'

Still. Shit, man. That's rough. :S
  • I don't want to think of bad endings because I know some that would really be bad.
  • Damnit man...that is heart-wrenching just thinking about it.
  • Share them. I love sad endings.

  • That's the ending. Once everyone is dead its over. You can assume Clem won't last much longer on her own either. It is sad, but it is the only and final ending to Life, really. I guess I'd like it incorporated in this beautiful game.

Sure, but from a narrative standpoint there should be some payoff to the story. Season 1 had that. I just can't see an ending like this having any weight or resonance behind it like that did.

  • Sorry if I sound like a broken record, I just want to ending to get the point of the series across, "Everyone will die and there are no happy endings". It would make me feel crappy for a few days, but if a game can do that, it did its job.

  • Damn, that's sad... although here's a thought! Clem and the rest of em' for some reason go back to Savannah and Carver follows them... then they go near where the jewelry shop was and where Clem's zombie parents are... and Carver tries to sneak up to Clem and kill her but then zombie Lee (determinant) and Clem's zombie parents attack and kill Carver before he even reaches Clem. That'd be fucking awesome, although sad for Clem to see them all as corpses... again...
  • Lee, still protecting her even after death ;-; this is beautiful.

  • Holy shit man you want Clem to commit suicide!?? haha

Anyway. i liked the Kenny/Luke final choice. I honestly would not know who to choose in such a situation. wtf!
  • If 9 year old Clementine can make it out if Savannah alone I think she might be able to make it out again. That's such a sad ending still, to be all alone and have nobody if they have a season 3 Clementine won't be the same that's for sure. :(

  • I'd pick Kenny for sure but I kind of doubt that would be a choice. I feel like we will have more people survive this season given all these characters they seem to be introducing and we're halfway through the Season now.
  • So this is pretty much:
    EVERYONE DIES.
  • Worst ending would be Clementine getting bitten and the screen cuts before she makes a decision to amputate or commit suicide. I would go into a state of severe mental depression after that.
  • Compared to season 1
Lee, Clem, Kenny, Katjaa, Duck, Lily, Doug/Carley
These people made it through episode 2, while only Clem, Kenny, Lee made it to the finale.
In season 2, in the worst outcome, you would get Clem, Carlos, Sarah, Luke, Rebecca, Kenny, Sarita.
    Guess who will make it?

I wasn't talking about people we've had since the first episode of the Season. I do think only Luke and Sarah will make it till near the end of the cabin group and despite how much I love Kenny I believe Christa is going to outlive him. She is out there somewhere.... but come on now we have the next 4 and a half hours of screen time this Season to develop and kill off Clem , Kenny , Christa , Sarah , Luke , Saria , Rebecca , baby , Carlos , Vince , Russel , Becca , Shel , Bonnie , Wyatt , Eddie , Carver , Troy , Tavia , Reggie , new girl and new black guy and whoever else comes along. Do you really think only 3 or 4 of these will survive?

  • I love sad, bad or depressing endings, especially if it leaves off with a cliffhanger or the antagonist wins. Though, I don't think both Luke and Kenny will survive to the end of Episode 5. It's possible, but I think one of them will die before episode 5.
