I love it. I love watching characters interact with each other, and I think it's very important in games that give the player freedom in player-character interaction. They could have easily just had the characters only interact with the player and not each other, and it would have been much worse. When they took Clementine and made her the star, it helped make the character I played seem as rounded as the others, because before season 2, she was non-playable like the rest, but you got to interact with her, and she interacted with the other characters...well, more like she *reacted* to them. She was the one character who actively interacted with you socially but not other characters, and now we get to see her doing that a lot more. There's just so much they can do with her, and are doing, and have planned.
It offers a perspective we normally don't play from, and I think with these games, when you're able to shape the character you play by choosing how you'd react, there's very little character growth in to be had in the protagonist. The Walking Dead's first game seemed to be more focused on the non-playable characters' interactions with the player and each other, more so because control over character development of the protagonist is almost(not completely) stripped away, but they still have the NPCs,and they build on their characters a lot more to make up for it. The difference between giving the player more freedom and compensating for it in NPC character development vs less player freedom, or...NOT compensating for it, is pretty clear. It's beautiful to see what they can do in that element of the game's story.
I think the idea of playing as Clementine is the greatest decision Telltale has ever made. Usually when you play a video game you always have to play as the big strong adult. It kind of gets cliche after a while. The idea of playing as a underpowered 11 year old girl in a mature environment is genius itself because it's a original idea in a video game.
I had my doubt at first about Clem being the player character. But I am really liking it so far, because you are immersed into her character. While she doesn't have Lee's authority presence and his strength, her main strengths lies in her cleverness and her ability to influence the people around her. Evident when she play a role in Walter's decision to either spare Nick or let him die.

Oh no no, I didn't mean start fresh as in a completely different cast and Clem's not even mentioned. I'd like to play a different character for the next season, but still have Clementine play an important part in the story since she's been there from the beginning.
Plus she has Lee's blood on her cap, Clementine might be able to get him cloned if she conveniently meets a crazy scientist specialized in cloning stuff randomly XD I live in futile hope of that happening.
I disagree partially, I think the series should follow Clementine from this point onwards. It just feels like the entire Telltale series foc… moreuses on her. Even the previous entry where you don't play as her. Telltale's series was her story, and I'm looking forward to seeing it continue in another Season if possible, even if she's not that much older in the next season. Would be pretty cool if that did happen though.

Yes. Lee's fight scenes, conversations and the way people act towards him were 'grown up'. If Lee said something witty/sarcastic we would giggle. But if CLEM says it we all die laughing cause she's not an adult and it's her voice in her character. We knew her from season one, and to get US to make her say funny thing she picked up from when we were around her, it's adorable.
If you disagree, you say something. Don't downvote it. Downvoting just seems like you're trying to make whoever said what they said look like a bitch. And you're doing bad at it, too.
It's extremely unlikely, but a possibility has come up in my head that what if Clem goes into a coma for a season and you play as Kenny or Christa or some shit just basically protecting her motionless self... it'd be weird and i'm not sure why I thought of that, but I do have pretty weird thoughts and ideas. Additional note, this would only be likely if there were to also be a season four which I doubt...

That's understandable. Call me sexist, but I just really don't like that there are so many unknown weird grown men in this season that are around Clem... I think i'm twice as protective now. Or just creepy adults in general, I guess I really just don't want a repeat of what happened to Carl to happen to Clem... I can't even think about that without feeling anger towards anyone who would do that to Clem.
Playing as Clementine might actually be MORE realistic since the whole idea is that YOUR Lee guided her to who she is. And now YOU control Clementine. So YOUR morals span through the both of them, making them more similar.
Yes.
I know there are some people who hate it and think it 'butchered' her character somehow, but I feel like I can portray a believab… morele growth in her character with how I play, through making choices based off what she would have learned from Lee and learned herself.
Some people are too lazy (myself included sometimes) and just downvote what they don't agree with. I, myself, am neutral towards your opinion and thus have not upvoted or downvoted it.
Lee was one hell of a guy and a very effective main character, and I can see why someone would prefer him over Clem. I like both, though.

Which part? The first sentence? Well, you can hardly go comment by comment explaining just exactly why you liked or disliked each and every one of them.
EDIT: I try, though.
EDIT 2: Oh... The downvoted person can just as easily ignore the downvotes. Really, though, when I use them, I rarely mean it as an insult... although I can't speak for everyone.
Yeah, the first sentence. It's just stupid. If you don't wanna do that, then don't. I don't see the purpose of the downvote other than to mark offensive comments. It's idiotic and lazy to do otherwise. I would much rather get fifty responses for each comment than three downvotes.

Yes... it would make this place more of a forum. The system's there, though, and I continue to use it to reinforce whenever I express agreement or disagreement. Take that as you will.

I am not sure whether I liked it.
Playing as Lee, when people rely on me, I tend to care most about making the "right" choices.
Playing as Clem, it feels more like I am seeking attention from others and proving myself to be reliable.
The experience is so different it's the opposite. Still trying hard to get used to though.

The whole game is based around Clementine, even in season 1. So yes, I enjoy playing as Clem. Besides, if she or Kenny isn't the Protagonist, you might as well throw season 1 out the window
I love playing as Clementine. Really, its a unique opportunity to play as a young girl of color. You dont see that a lot as a game protagonist. Add to that, the already established relationship we built with Clementine and the fun of getting to see her grow and change from one season to the next. I would love to play with her one more season when she's a few years older.
I don't know if I would call that sexist, imo you're just have a reaction to pop culture. In media how many times have you seen terrible situations turn completely reasonable men into absolute monsters! Also in season 2 Clem doesn't have an adult with a gun who she can trust completely, even Kenny seems less trust worthy these days. I'm on board with you for the most part, I don't wholly trust any of the new people, there are no Lee's this season.

I'm not gonna lie. While I don't HATE playing as Clem, I definitely preferred playing as Lee, and would continue to prefer being someone older. I mean, the situations with Lee were great, and I can't imagine we'll get to do those again with Clem.
For example, as Lee, we went to check out the St. John's Dairy...wouldn't explore a new area with strangers as Clem, I'd hope.
Starting the train.
Making decisions for the group (i.e. leaving Lilly)
Imagine something like Crawford. Pretty sure Clem wouldn't take the initiative on her own to go to a place like that.
And of course from the finale of S1, the whole rooftop scenario at the beginning, the alley way scene (if you saved Ben) etc.
While we can explore newer scenes of the game, I'd prefer being an adult to feel like the scenarios are more 'important' I guess.
I love playing as Clem because she's SOO different to other game protagonists. I mean, how many middle-aged badass dudes do you play as in video games? A lot. On the other hand, how many games do you play as an 11 year old girl with a cap in a zombie appocolypse? Like... No games ever. xD I also like Clem because obviously her character is very developed from the first game.

Though I do go out of my way to make her stay closest to her S1 counterpart as much as possible.
Nothing appropriate for a 15 year old...
Oh, well! lol
