But seriously... this is so true and Clem can't help but be the badass she is! :P
  • I Do not mind to grow up >>> but telltale must stick with the time line of the game ..... not like what happen in S2E1 of time skip (16 month ) .
  • Finally this guy is banned. I don't know what's the reason but I think we can take a little break.

  • I don't like the word badass at all. For me that means Mary Sue, a character that can basically do anything and then sacrifices herself for a greater good. Survivor Clementine fits better in my opinion.
  • I waited for this moment! FUCK YEAH ZOMBIE SLAYING KICKASS CLEM!!!
  • Maybe Clem can be like Goku and grow up to be an adult in the span of a year.

  • Have you ever seen Full Metal Jacket? 11 is enough to take down 4 heavily armed American soldiers. Don't misconstrue what I just said either, I would never want Clementine to be like that bitch. But 11 is old enough to kill, and I feel we will see her start having to do things like kill. It sucks, but after some of the events have happened, that just seems the way it'll unfold.

  • I think a lot of people just want Clem to have a healthy balance. She needs to be tough and resourceful, but I wouldn't want her to be completely hardened. Like when it was revealed Kenny was the "I thought you were dead" character, I gave that guy a big hug. Because even though he wasn't the greatest all the time, it was still nice seeing a familiar face from the old group. Felt like home, in a way. I still want Clem to care and be kind to good people, maybe have a kid moment once in a while during downtime - but she can never go back to being so naive.

  • I honestly like season 2 Clem WAY more that season 1 Clem. She's capable of surviving and is more realistic about things, but she's also capable of feeling happiness and warmth (such as when she found Kenny alive in 202). She certainly IS a badass, but not the kind of badass who's unfeeling or depressed. She's dynamic. I'm really pleasantly surprised that she hasn't turned out like Carl from the show, all numb and psychotic and insecure. She's truly a likable character now, and that just makes me even more excited for each and every episode. Bring on 203!

I don't really like sassy Clem a hole lot, for example at the bridge scene I would have wanted to choose another sentence then the one that brings out sassy Clem with the "remember I have done this before, in a shed"

I agree that Clementine is growing up.
She's growing up, and is starting to see the world through the eyes of an adult.
    And it's a good thing.

But I disagree about abandoning hope and morality.
Hope gives people purpose, a reason to keep living.
If a person has no hope, how can they be expected to keep living, especially in a world that's gone mad?

And about survival, it sounds like you're saying kill others, before they can kill you, and if necessary harm someone who's innocent, or unarmed.
And I don't agree with that!
You don't have to become "the bad guy," in order to survive.
A person can survive and still retain their humanity.

I'm not saying a person should deliberately blind themselves to another's faults, nor am I saying people should ignore potential or obvious danger, or that they shouldn't protect themselves if attacked, nor that killing the attacker might not be necessary.
But what I am saying is, that you don't have to deliberately harm others, especially innocent people, in order to survive.

Things like, stealing in order to feed yourself, or killing in self-defense, might be necessary, but that doesn't make it good.
And things like deliberate murder for example, will always be wrong, no matter how you cut it!

To quote Dale, on the tv show: "Keeping our humanity, that's a choice."
  • I agree. Clementine is still a good person underneath the hard facade. She's kind of like Lee in that way I think. Yes, should could kill in defense of her life or the lives of those she cares about, but she couldn't do it in cold blood or do it non-chalantly. She was raised by good people, including Lee, and she has a moral foundation, but she is also learning that it could be detrimental to her and those she loves if she's too trusting or too open around people she doesn't know. It's definitely a balancing act, playing Clementine in a realistic way that's true to her character.

  • I understand that mentality, even if I don't necessarily practice it when I play as Clem. I suppose that's why Telltale gives us the option, ultimately. Clementine (as well as Lee) is sort of a reflection of us and how we would behave (or at least how we hope we would behave) under the circumstances. Personally, I try to play Clementine as smart, a bit cynical, ruthless if she needs to protect herself or those she loves from those who mean her/them harm, but also empathetic and good at heart. Sort of like how I played Lee. Like I said above, playing Clementine the way I feel is right is definitely a balancing act. I sometimes end up regretting how I handle things.

Innocent Clem was naive. I understand that. But there are people who have seen and been through hardships just as bad, if not worse than Clementine, and kept their innocence intact. Remember Anne Frank? Of course, Clem can't be THAT innocent, but I want there to be parts of it left.
  • You can bet that Clem is no longer innocent. after all she's been through.. proof is that you can be sassy throughout your gameplay if you want, and disrespect every adult you find.
  • I agree with a lot of what you're saying, even though I play Clementine differently. Though, I don't think that Clem "snapped" at Rebecca. She very calmly threatened her. Rebecca was sh*t-talking a little girl for the umpteenth time. She didn't respect Clementine and treated her like trash. I wanted to let Rebecca know that Clementine knew a lot more than Rebecca thought she did. I wanted her to know that Clementine is willing to stand up for herself and was tired of being treated like a piece of trash by Rebecca. It wasn't weak, nor did she lose her temper. It was a very calm threat that said "Back off, lady. I'm not going to put up with your constant threats and insults. I'm stronger than that." That's the way I perceived it at least.

People see kindness as a weakness in this kind of world, when in fact it's takes a whole lot more balls to be kind then to be sassy. Just th

I for one never doubted Clem is growing up. After the events of S1 and before the time skip, I think much of her childhood innocence evaporated. She has seen and lost so much yet still she carries on. Our brave little soldier.

This thread also makes me wonder, did Lee ever kill another living person which was non-determinant?
