Anyone else kind of...umm...worried about the fact that...
Clementine hardly even WINCED when Kenny was bashing Carver's skull into paste? I mean...sure, the kid's seen a lot. But...that takes a certain level of ice cold to not even react. Bad guy or not.
Jesus. Goes to show how she's changed I guess.

prick
I was in a bit of a state when I posted this. :S
I almost want to rewind the episode so Clem doesn't stay and watch... it's bothering me that much. The only reason I had her stay in the first place was because I wanted to see if I could stop Kenny from going too far. I didn't realize that choosing the option would basically just be to revel in the murder.
... Yeah, I'm going to rewind the episode. It's something I almost never do, but it's really bothering me that she seemed to enjoy watching someone be gruesomely murdered. Lee taught her better.
Being strong doesn't make Clem like Carver, regardless of what he says. He's delusional and evil, unlike Clem. Carver was right that both he and Clem can take action. However, that's something Lee taught her, not Carver. Clem can cut someone's arm off to try to save their life, show mercy by shooting someone before they turn into a zombie, and kill a murderer and slaver like Carver to protect other people. Lee taught her to fight for humanity and dignity, not turn away and hope someone else does it or ignore the horrible things that happen by refusing to act (like letting Lee turn into a zombie if she wouldn't mercy kill him). Carver wouldn't understand that at all.

I definitely wouldn't say that she actually grins or anything, but it freaks me out how coldly sort of satisfied she looks after the beating.
I really hope the writers don't interpret the decision to stay as being necessarily a bloodthirsty or sadistic one for future episodes. As I said in some other thread, I had Clem stay because I want her to be strong enough to look ugly things in the face. There is nothing strong or respectable about knowing something ugly is happening, especially something ugly that nevertheless has to be done, and leaving it to others so you can pretend like it isn't. If Kenny is going to kill Carver, then whether Clem approves or not, she needs to be strong enough to see it and not turn away.
But in my opinion, this was something Clem needed to watch. It gives her closure that this wicked man was put down, but beyond that, Clem cannot be sheltered from the things that NEED to be done anymore. She realized that this needed to be done, and stayed all the way through to make sure it was completed. There is no room for feelings in a situation like that. You have to shut down internally and focus on the task at hand.
Sounds brutal, but it's true.
Clem is strong. Clem has done what she needs to do to survive. She is willing to go to great lengths to ensure that she survives.
BUT
Carver took this mentality to an extreme. He left no room for compassion or loyalty. Only strength and weakness.
Clem is very loyal to her friends and the people around her. She stands up for the weak. Carver just killed them off.
But to answer your question, yes he is KIND OF correct. They share the trait of strong personalities.
