Too goddamn early!

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
I can't believe they killed Carver this early! I really liked his evil character! And Carlos's death was extremely unnecessary in my opinion. Now we have to look for Sarah and bond with her. I was not satisfied with how things went.. even though the episode was one of the best. What do you guys think?

Carlos was a dead man walking the minute Sarah was introduced as being "unable to function" in the apocalypse. Everyone I've spoken to agreed way back in Episode 1 he would be dead by Episode 4 just because it would be the catalyst for Sarah going off the rails. It was pretty predictable. That being said, how/when it happened did catch me off-guard.
  • shme really because i liked him and the actor who plays him (madsen)
  • Well it happened so fast and he didn't get much character development i think...(especially Nick who i didn't notice him most of the time..he was kinda there...)

The reason Nick didn't have a big role was because he was determinate in episode 2. If he played a really important role in episode 3 but died for some people it would cause problems in the story.

I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of his community, something makes me think Tavia is going to succeed him now.

  • After you tell her to shut up or get control over herself. Carlos falls dead, and she runs, a walker bits her she fells then gets up and run away.

    when?

  • i havent seen that, wow, then she is as good as dead
  • I had no problem with Carlos's death actually (I mean in writing terms). The truth is that a death can in fact be uneventful.

Personally I don't think they killed Carver too early. I like that the games don't have a central, fixed storyline and conflict. The unpredictability and constant change is refreshing.

i've never liked that reason... determinant people dont get many parts because it'd be too much work or would convolute the story... it's a game that tailors to what we do, but is still supposed to simulate people. a guy doesn't just shut down because he died off in an alternate reality. or does he? if the writer did well enough, such a thing wouldn't be a problem, or even take more time, as it would have already been prepared. models dont need to be created for an existing character, they're not going to new places so the sets dont need to change, and they went through the effort of making nick get up and leave for his "work", so they still did stuff with him and moved him around, and he did have some lines, so it wasn't an issue with the voice actor, and since he's still alive, they'll need to do more with him next episode anyway, even if they do kill him off. it would have been easier to have killed him off in this herd along with carlos if story problems were really an issue.

Now that he's dead, I think we'll be facing off against our 400 Days guys, if we ever meet up with Carver's old crew.
