Is ____ The New ____?

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Is Jane like a replacement of sorts for Molly? I think personally that they're very similar in terms of personality. Do you still think Molly will come back? If so will she butt heads with Jane or become instant friends?

  • I feel like Jane is Molly in disguise.
  • I get that feeling from her as well.
  • Well they have similarities but I like Molly a lot more.
  • I'm hoping Molly does come back, sees Jane, and says out loud: "She's from Crawford!" That would be a mouth-opener.

Jane is Molly minus ninja stuff, so I think I'll like her. Besides, what she did to Troy was awesome. :-D
And I don't think that Molly will come back. She's voiced by the same person as Bonnie, so unless Bonnie is going to die or something, I don't see Molly coming back.
  • Same, Molly was like the guy version of Ezio from Assassin's Creed.

  • i think jane is just the Anti-Sarah, and sarah is the new kenny. spend the whole season keepin sarah happy, or she'll hold a grudge. so i guess that would technically make jane the new lily.
  • Kinda, the difference for me is, that after one episode, I thought Molly was awesome, whereas Jane was just kinda there (Besides the Troy scene).
  • we all thought troy was nuts, and now even those are past tense...

  • They should have just brought her back. Jane is using her model, and Bonnie is using her voice actress. Why couldn't they have just brought her back? Jane has red shirt written all over her. She will likely die or depart next episode.

I personally think everyone from Season 1 has a Season 2 equal.

Kat - Sarita (Same personality and loves Kenny)
Lilly - Rebecca (Similar Personality, has a mean streak)
Ben - Nick (Similar personality, gets depressed, and causes problems)
    ETC

  • Jane and Molly are like long lost sisters or something
  • Didn't her sister get lost or did Molly she died?

  • It's the new Call of Duty in my opinion, they just re-hash the same gameplay. The only Assassin's Creed game I've enjoyed recently (I've played them all, I just hate the lack of changes) is Black Flag, because the ship-to-ship combat was the best part of 3, and it makes a great game on it's own.

Oh man Assassin Creed... Great game.

  • Maybe one of the people from Carver's group was from Crawford and they would have recognized her, so she shaved her head and changed her name. Maybe she was desperate for food and needed a place to go, and Carver's camp seemed as good a place as any.

i feel more like season 2 goes along the lines of clem's own little taste of crawford. between what went on there, and what carver and jane have said, it looks more like the entire group was designed to be "broken" and doomed from the start, rather than season 1 where the cast was more like a group of actual people. alvin was whipped (and ate alot), rebecca is pregnant, pete was old, sarah is unstable and a kid, carlos's liability was sarah (and i still say he was a quack of a doctor), nick had trouble moving forward, bonnie is a recovered addict, kenny is still kenny (albeit with less depth perception now), and sarita is an enabler. from what they were telling clem about "not knowing what luke's gone through" there's probly still sumthin we have yet to discover about luke. if jane turns out to like torturing zombies and mike is an alcoholic, i wouldn't be surprised.

That is odd. I see that everyone seems to have their own issues.
Its not implied, but I think Luke's weakness is Nick, who is his liability, and although Clem can take care of herself, Luke also looks out for Clem.

Jane is redshirt. She probably will die or leave next episode or the final episode. Its obvious. Just look at her. She is so generic.

  • Oddly, Molly's sister would be of similar age to Jane now. Could it be that this isn't just a coincidence? Or is this really Molly hiding her identity, and its just Kenny and Clem don't seem to notice? I mean... Kenny DID mention Molly this episode about the Crawford Bell. Could there have been reason behind that?

Jane and Molly are like long lost sisters or something

  • Nah Jane ain't Molly, they just have similar personalities.

  • At least Molly was likable. Jane is just a bitch. I don't like her and don't trust her at all.

What would it matter if they were from Crawford (which is kind of unlikely)? Crawford is gone, and their rules are as well. Some random person from Crawford wouldn't have any reason to do anything to her, and Molly wouldn't be afraid of them.

She also would have said something to Kenny or Clem, there is no reason for her to hide her identity from them.

Maybe one of the people from Carver's group was from Crawford and they would have recognized her, so she shaved her head and changed her name. Maybe she was desperate for food and needed a place to go, and Carver's camp seemed as good a place as any.

  • And Molly won't leave her BFF helda

  • A dirty face and a haircut isn't going to completely disguise who you are. She isn't Molly. Kenny and Clem would have to be stupid not to recognize her if she was.

Plus Molly has no reason to hide who she is.

Wow really? Remember that at the first time we saw Molly she was going to leave Kenny lee and Clem to die but Clem begged her for help and why is Jane a bitch???

  • She may still show up at some point ;)

  • She pulled a Shane on Troy, using him as live bait, she is cold-hearted and creepy and she shares a "you really should abandon the group cause they are all going to die anyway and thus drag you down" talk with Clem in the preview for the next episode. There is nothing to like about her. She is that kinda person who will fall into your back the moment you stop being useful to her. Can't stand such people.

  • Troy was about to kill luke and delay them and the walkers were so close she had to kill him cuz if they found out about carver they will kill the whole group, and she have a point when she said that that's not different from Molly personality and she is not that bad we just haven't got so much time to talk her or to know her right and you remember that in the next episode she is nice :)

    1) Jane obviously did something Carver didn't like at some point, or else she wouldn't have been sleeping outside in that holding pen thing in the first place. Given the sort of person Carver was, that she apparently defied him or otherwise got on his bad side is an automatic point in her favor, as far as I'm concerned.

    2) Troy was not only a mindless tool, but a major league asshole to boot. No big loss there.

    3) If I was in a zombie apocalypse and saw an intelligent, capable child hanging out with a bunch of people I considered to be incompetent and useless, I would feel ethically obliged to warn the kid to be careful and to not let her survival depend on her groupmates doing the intelligent thing, because they might well not.

  • I'd like to believe that, but then how'd she change her hair color from blonde to brown? Plus, her voice is different but she might be acting that as well, because when she dropped the bags from the roof, she shouted and it sounded like Molly. Also them talking about Molly ringing the bells when preparing a plan might have given us a hint.

Maybe Telltale originally had Molly in this episode, because remember the green Hilda that was on the wall? It was nowhere to be seen this episode, so maybe they cut her out for some reason.

I feel like Jane is Molly in disguise.

  • i can kinda see it. we haven't gotten much time to see her character, but it does sound like she's gonna be trying to push clem into being "self-sufficient", making them into a pair, only to end up deciding clem has become deadweight when clem needs help.

they said they found her outside covered in stuff. and it sounded like mike joined them when he helped reggie with his arm. they probably just put all new people in gardening *cough* "The Yard" and have 'em work to "prove themselves."

based on the way jane was talking to troy at the end, it sounds like she was tryin to use her... wiles to get into the group through troy, not unlike how molly was doin the same to get her sister medicine from logan.

  • Why is it that every time a new character is introduced, someone's got to say, "Is X the new Y?"

It gets old. Have faith in the writers to create complicated and unique characters. Even if she seems to resemble Molly now, she clearly has a big role in Episode 4 and I trust they'll expand on her in ways that differ a lot from Molly.
  • Just because she said that in the preview doesn't mean its actually going to be said in the game.

How she handled Troy was kind of dark.. but hey, it worked.
