  • guess this is the polite version of my thread :p
  • So you're saying we can't criticise a game we payed money for? We have every right, they took almost 3 months for the shortest walking dead episode yet and executed some of the things like 400 days characters poorly
  • You're allowed to have a critical opinion on art. Just because we're fans doesn't mean we have to blindly accept something we enjoy as perfect. I love the game, but it's not a bad thing for me to notice errors and feel like some things were better executed than others.

I'm not going to complain about time and waiting like the guy above me, or the other people who are apparently whining about that, because frankly I feel like Telltale was rushed. Maybe if they'd taken a little more time to polish this episode I would have liked it better. It just felt like they were too ambitious and bit off more than they could chew, in my eyes.

    IMO they needed MORE time.
  • He's not saying you cant criticize it, he's saiyan(bad puns activate!) that no matter what TTG do people will always bitch and moan about it, they make the episode longer people complain it gets boring, they make it shorter people say it's too short, and he's right, people will never be happy as long as they have something to complain about.

Episode 5 of Season 1 was shorter then this episode and that was the big finale in Season 1 and i bet you that had it not had such a memorable ending, it would've been highly criticized.
You can't get everything you want, that's life.

  • First he is saying we can't criticize the game since in the title he says shut up and enjoy the game. Second i'm pretty sure the only time people complained about it getting boring was episode 4 if they stuck with the 2 hour time for their episodes i'm sure time would not be an issue

  • I, too, like having shit poured right into my mouth and be told not to complain and enjoy the taste
  • Telltale was not rushed the episode was done a week before it was released they would have worked on it during that time

  • I can see the validation behind people's arguments, but that didn't stopped me from loving the episode. It is alright to be critical on something as long as you don't let it ruin your enjoyment.
  • I never said the game is perfect. But contradicting yourself's is stupid. You don't bitch about episodes being too long, then when they get cut shorter, still bitch about them being too short. What do people want Telltale to do ? Make an episode at a perfect time of 100-110 minutes? This isn't The Simpsons or Family guy where they add a loop scene to fill extra time to get 20 minutes.
They're too busy with all these new games, they seem to have lost interest. Season 1 showed how good they can be i've always said, stop promoting all these new games and put your effort into the current games.

  • The only reason it was done a week before Is because they had to wait for the console release date too be verified otherwise it would have been released then and there, also do you really think a week is enough to do anything? maybe some bug fixes(and I had no bugs anyway).

  • Yes Opinions, but it's hardly a credible opinion when you complain about something being too long, then when it get's cut shorter, complain for being too short. It's like complaining about being overweight, then when you become skinny, you complain about being skinny. Nothing's perfect so people should stop trying expect perfectness.

Overall I thought the episode was very good.

The ending of the episode was incredibly disappointing though. How can they just cut out during the most intense part of the episode? There was so much they could have done there, but instead they just decided to end the episode. Makes no sense.
  • Some people only see the flaws in the game. I for one thought it was really good for what it was, i obviously wanted more, and it sucked it could not control Clem as much as i wanted but i still liked what i got. Story was good, new characters was interesting and it was nice to see the 400 days cast. I just hope we get tot see them do something more than this quick little cameo that did pretty much nothing than give them a few lines.
  • When did i say i never criticised anyone?
Telling people to shut up and enjoy a game is different to people one minute sooking for an episode being too long, then sooking for it being too short.

  • I truly hate people like you. Clearly if you were a real fan of the series you would know when they put garbage out because I've seen their greatness already. I would give this episode a 3.5/5. I don't mind if the episodes 30 minutes or 3 hours as long as I enjoyed it but for me I didnt.

I enjoyed the episode, and season 2 in general, but a lot of the criticisms it gets are completely valid - and they need to be pointed out.
  • And i hate people like you who want everything to be perfect and when something doesn't suit you, you bitch.
Wake up to reality dude, you'll get things you want, and you'll get things you don't. Maybe stop playing games and start looking up reality.

  • Well it's a cliffhanger for a start. And it will also keep you interested in the game because you don't know what's going to happen next so it keeps you keen on it. If they showed what would've happened then people would be less interested.
The more speculation, the more interest it attracts and that will create more coin for telltale.

  • If they do only have them for that one episode then it was a waste really. But given there is only 2 episodes left, i can't see any point to bring them into the group for one thing, there isn't much time to get to know them.

  • No, I cannot "just shut up and enjoy the game". Is this what a character like Clementine deserves? A season like this? It has had its moments, and I have enjoyed them, but really?

@Clem_is_Awesome used quite a crude comparison, but it more or less nails it for me. They have done better. They most certainly have, yet people are content with watching the franchise drop and drop. Why?

If you really cannot see what we perceive they are doing wrong, I honestly envy you. If you do, but don't speak up or think that we should just "shut up and enjoy the game" then i think you are lying to yourself. Not only to you, but to the bloody franchise, to the great characters we had, to the designers and to all of us. It doesn't have to be that way. Criticizing something you love does not mean you don't like it anymore, but that you wish for it to improve.

Have I come off too strong today? Yes and here is why:

Two months ago, I was offering constructive criticism. I was a little disappointed with what I had got at that point, but acknowledged the good parts and quite optimistically tried along with other users to provide the best of opinions that we could to help improve the season. So much for that. Today, I am kind of tired, frustrated and slowly becoming what many of us hate: A "hater". I expect to calm down in a day or two, but eh.

There is a better way to do this. A "constructive" way to express disappointment and offer feedback that TT can use... The question is: Will that change anything?
  • So instead of telling us over and over they've failed and they are doing something wrong, tell us WHAT they are doing wrong then? What's so bad about this season so far? What's so bad about episode 3? No one cares about your opinion if you don't tell us WHY it all sucks.

No, I cannot "just shut up and enjoy the game". Is this what a character like Clementine deserves? A season like this? It has had its moment

  • TL: The people who downvoted me who support Telltale waiting this long are part of this problem.

  • FYI. I think Season 1 is way better then Season 2 but i still enjoy Season 2 and i couldn't give a shit how long it goes for, as long as a new episode comes out, im happy.
So answer me this then. How is it good criticism if you criticize a game for being too long then when it's made shorter, you criticize it for being too short? Is being a hypocrite good now or something ?
Well wanting episodes shorter because they're too long and then wanting them longer when they're shorter isn't helping.

No, I cannot "just shut up and enjoy the game". Is this what a character like Clementine deserves? A season like this? It has had its moment

  • He doesn't understand why people keep playing the game when according to his opinion, the season is getting worse each episode. Personally, it's getting better.
He also wants things to be improved in his eyes and obviously it's not happening so his complaining about it. So he hasn't got everything his way and he can't handle it. His like a lot of them that expect everything they want to be in there. Seeing how he can do it then i'll say mine.
    I want Lee back.
    I want Hubs back.
I want the way they built the relationships in Season 1
I want those torn decisions in Season 1 where you had to choose between 2 people dying.
I want unexpected things to happen like Kat shooting herself or Carely suddenly being shot or unexpected twists like the ST Johns.

  • I want to meet the jackass that complained about too long episodes. That s.o.b was not rigt in the head
  • The problem with episode 4 on season 1 is that being too long was half the problem, the other half was just draaaaaaaaaaaging along, doing nothing, spending 10 minutes of game time walking down long ass corridors.
  • It's a pity you weren't on here when Episode 4 of Season 1 came out back in 2012 because that's what was talked about, the fact that the episode was "too long and too boring".

  • I'm not pleased because I'm disappointed with my ongoing time-investment in the series. If this is what the series is going to become, less of what made TWD's Season 1 so special, then I'm just going to end up riding Season 2 with a sour opinion. I love Telltale's TWD, and to watch it get so messy and unimpressive, it hurts me. It's like seeing a friend slowly go down a downward spiral with drug addiction. It's not affecting you, but it has an effect on you.
  • Last night, I dreamt that Lee suddenly got his arm back and his bite was gone. He searched for Clem and the two have a great reunion. Then a woke up and realized it was just a dream. It was really sad....
