We need to discuss Ep4.

With Ep3 having split opinions, it's obvious now that the series is getting downhill. Prior to all of this, when Ep1 first came out, there wasn't a whole lot of bad feels surrounding the game. Now, after all the hype surrounding Carver, and all the "who can you trust" motifs implanted into the 2nd Season, we need to have an... adult conversation about what Ep4 needs to have in order to make up for the apparently lacking 3rd chapter. This could be potential character development ideas, returning characters from S1 or the comic universe, or any focuses on the gameplay mechanics/design.

Let me start by saying, I want to see a return to being rewarded for exploration. Finding something that can later be used later down the road, or in another chapter. After being asked to give water to the dying man, or Pete, I held onto it with the idea that I may need it later. On that note, do we still have that picture of Lee? The drawing of Kenny, and his family? Where did the inventory icons go? I want this addressed, and fixed in Ep4.

I dont care how long the wait til ep 4 will be, but i seriously think telltale needs to take their time into making sure the forth episode is a success. episode 3 was great but it could have been much better which we've heard other users make good points about in the recent threads.

What i personally hope for episode 4 is basically just more character development for the other characters and more exploring(now if ever seems to be the perfect time for it since the characters are on the road with no particular threat, at least not for awhile). Thats all i can come up with now but those 2 are pretty much the 2 major factors i think.

also i think its about time we get christa back or have her confimed dead somehow. i dont want this season to end with everyone dead but hooray, clem gets reunited with christa! cos we dont know much about christa cos of that massive time skip and id rather just have her show up asap so we for sure know how clem feels about her.
hopefully we can keep this thread alive cos telltale seriously needs to start listening to us in order for making episode 4 and 5 amazing
  • We aren't going to get a longer episode with more freedom in it. I'd love to see a longer more complex episode but It's unlikely to happen. Personally I think they should further develop the current characters rather than bringing back an older one and it would be contrived for them to randomly just be in the same place. Comic characters would be tricky as they locked by canon to their location.
  • As long as:
    1. Wait times become shorter between episodes.
    2. The newbie writer from Episode 3 doesn't return.
    and
    3. The series picks up speed...

    Ill be happy.
  • i hear ya OP,but it's the zombie apocalypse, plans change quickly,no use the characters getting set up making new homes when a herd is on it's way,but i would of liked more time to explore but i just wanted out the camp.
  • E3 was great, wtf are you talking about? Didn't the Kenny getting his fucking eye popped out not satisfy your feels? Or Carver getting hsi fuckin' face smashed in? Jesus... ungrateful. Best episode yet, just needs to fix the 400 Days bug and add "better" choices and that's it. Only choice that really mattered this episode was the ending one.
  • I want them to go beyond that 90 Minute gap they have chosen to stick with it is really(At least for me) ruining the game experience don't get me wrong the game has an awesome story telling but it could be better. Also now that there is only 2 Episodes left I believe that Telltale should extend the duration of the these Episodes because I don't know but I have a feeling that the Episodes have been getting rushed and Telltale wants to move on so in other words we might not even see a Season 3 So my only wish is for the last 2 Episodes to be at least 2.5 hours long but hey a guy can wish.
  • You people clearly can't respect others opinions. For Christs Sake, people have opinions.

  • Well don't bitch about stuff. He clearly says it's going down hill, that's his fucking opinion, not everyone's. I'd rather have this than walking around a fucking drug store saying "Hm... drugs, hm... cards, hm..." It shows the becoming of Kenny being a badass, hell, have you seen the walkers? Almost every walker shown has a new model! Almost every walker in S1 had the same model, they even made models for characters that didn't even speak! I seen at least two guards who never spoke and had a unique model.

  • Hard to believe we only have two more 90 minute episodes with Clem, huh....

  • That's what I'm saying people are like 90 minutes is ok but with only 2 Episodes left and no confirmation of a 3rd Season then why not ask for longer episodes.

  • Like everyone has said, character development and exploration. I would have liked to have seen more of Carver's community. It would have been interesting to have known how they operate and how many people they are.

I hope episode 4 brings back some character dialogues and questions as simple as: how are you?, what do you think of our situation?, what do you think of Rebecca's state?. It would be really nice to know what the characters think of the situation and give their point of view to Clementine and the players. It was one of the things that I really liked back in Season 1, to simply ask questions. It is a simple thing, but it brings characterization to a character.
  • Time sure does fly by...

  • It sure does... watch when they say there wont be a season 3 everyone who complained that 90 minutes was enough is gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out.

  • Well, if that happens...All I will say is "It has been a good run."

    The irony is almost surreal

  • Because they've stated their design process now is making episodes of an average of ninety minutes.

  • You're not a part of this conversation boy. You clearly don't know what a "Cod" is. Ha, shameful. And by action I meant drama. So keep your mouth shut.

  • I know and I understand but for a series that I'm sure they might want to move away from in order to create other awesome series don't you think maybe as BIG finale they should extend the duration of the last 2 episodes. I'm not angry or saying I hate the first 3 Episodes I actually loved them and I love this series so much that all I want is for it to last a tiny bit longer.

Didn't he write Faith, one of telltale's best episodes?

  • Always remember "The Customer is Always Right" so who knows maybe if TWD Community rejoiced and we politely ask who knows they might have a change of heart on extending those 90 Minutes.

  • Except that feedback has more than likely been made already regarding the previous TWD & TWAU episodes. As they clearly came to this design decision sometime ago without considering player response it's unlikely it will be changing anytime soon.

  • Lol obviously it's going downhill what with all the great reviews right? Just some folks sore over whatever who don't recognize brilliance when it bites em in the ass
  • I liked episode three, though it had quite a few flaws. Maybe telltale really does need two and a half months to create a good episode. I mean, episode three is great but there were some small things that bothered me, it was just a bit rushed.

I have hope that Episode 4 will be the best one yet. I personally think episode three was the best one of season two, only whenever I ignore things like awkward model placement or Carver's random poetic side.

The whole episode felt like one giant meh. There needs to be more important choices that hold real weight, character development, exploration, AND THE EPISODES HAVE TO BE MORE THAN JUST 90 LOUSEY MINUTES.

Episodes 3 was like drinking a flat coke. Yeah it had good flavor, but it lost its zing; that kick that give it so much character.
  • Fans like YOU are destroying this series. You dismiss any legitimate critcicism as people being butthurt. If these flaws are not brought to TT's attention, they won't improve. And reviews don't mean a damn thing. COD gets good reviews every year, you know...

  • The teaser for episode 4 wasn't much, it doesn't really tell us much about where they are and where it is based, so the only clues we really have for this episode is from the achievements list which was leaked that show a museum and the baby possibly being born, but apart from that there's nothing else to go by.

I think that they'll either decide to head off to Wellington, if not then I haven't a clue, maybe Tavia and her fellow goons will take revenge on them.
  • Good point on the teaser but for some reason just reading your comment made me re-think why they would kill Carlos a lot of people speculate its to make Sarah stronger which may be one of the reasons but I am pretty sure it is to add to the intense of Rebecca going into labor without having a doctor around.

  • I wasn't that shocked when Carlos died, shows how little some of us care about these S2 characters compared to S1, I was getting ready to be shocked when Kenny was getting beaten by Carver, I thought that was it for Kenny.
