Clementine & Carver...

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Did you have the guts to stay and watch Kenny sally smack the living s**t out of him with that crowbar or did you back out because you felt bad & not needed to see the violence?

For those who backed out, let's just say he looked like that homeless man from Miami, Florida during that "zombie-like" incident that involved drugs.

  • I don't think it was fair for TTG to make this such an important choice for Clementine's possible character development. As a player, we're naturally curious to see what would happen to Carver, but as Clementine, we shouldn't be around when Kenny lays the hammer down. Lee wouldn't want Clem to watch, but our own curiosity to see changes all that.

We didn't make this decision with Clementine in mind, we wanted to see what happened for ourselves, and that was wrong for TTG to do here.
  • To be fair, as Lee, TTG did gave us a choice to kill that cannibal back at the farm.
I really don't see Clem as a little girl anymore. Well, it's 50/50 for me because she's growing up and have already seen the horrors of a zombie apocalypse. And to be quite honest, I think she seen worst.

  • I thought that seeing that would push her past the edge, I don't want her to be so hardened by that ,that she acts out, like Carver did with Reggie. Just my thought.

  • Clementine needed to see that. It's only going to make her stronger.

Carver himself said something true, she's seen much worse shit before.

Why suddenly start coddling her now?
  • I left because staying would allow Carver to win and prove him right that she's just like him. Plus he didn't deserve the attention.
  • I stayed because I felt Carver might have one last trick up his sleeve. I was worried if something did happen, I might be able to stop it. Regardless: Justice (In a retribution sort of way)
  • Oh yeah, that's pretty much another reason too. I thought if I leave, some shit would happen in there lol.

  • speak for yourself. I made this decision with Clementine in mind. She has already seen tons of shit, and mutilated zombies.

Plus my clem really hated him, and felt satisfaction out of seeing his face crushed.

  • Why does it take guts to watch someone get brutally murdered?! That's not very gutsy. That's just cowardice, the guy couldn't fight back, and he was beaten to death. Kenny lost some of my respect. Just shoot the fucker.
  • Eye for an eye sort of justice (literally).

  • What? It was not Telltales intent to make you choose yourself or Clem. The decision was to show if Clementine really has grown "used" to death and gore which she has as you see when she slightly grins when Carver is getting his faced ripped off.

  • I loved the scene. Even for the cartoon graphics it was pretty gnarly and when his eye popped off . . . intense
  • I left solely because Carver's dying wish was for Clem to watch - and I wasn't going to satisfy him right before he gets his face smashed in.
  • What Kenny did was pretty cold, but I'd say it was understandable. Carver kidnapped him and his girlfriend, killed one of Kenny's friends (Walter) and took Kenny's eye. That would be enough to send anyone over the edge, and Kenny had already lost so much before any of that happened that I think it was a miracle that he wasn't pulling Carver's teeth out one at a time.
