Why did you choose that ? {spoilers}

So, I noticed that most of the people chose to watch Carver die. My question is why ? I mean, I know that Clem had seen a lot of bad stuff, and she's been through a lot, I get it, but it's not necesarry to watch more horrible things, which you can avoid seeing. Despite Clem being mega badass rainbow zombie killer, she's just a little girl and in my playthrough I try to keep her out of those things as much as possible.
Anyway, feel free to share your answers and opinions. :)

  • I stayed because I thought I'd get to choose an awesome one-liner right before Kenny brained him. I didn't, but watching his face turn into a crater was pretty satisfying too.

She's a little girl yes but she's a little girl who is a badass survivor, if you try to keep her "a little innocent girl" you're gonna have a bad time, there's no escape from horrible things in that universe.
My Clem watched it because Carver deserved everything he got after making everyone miserable. Unlike what Carver said Clem is nothing like him, she doesn't go around torturing, killing people simply because they're "weak" in her eyes.
  • ^ Basically what he said. I want my Clem to be a strong. Seeing stuff like that can build the toughness in her.

  • I stayed, but now i gonna regret a little. Yes, Carver deserved the death, but this way? And this was too early. The first time i wanna brutal death for him, but after i watched this, i have a bad feeling. This was not so good...
  • I don't play as Clem I play as me.
  • I stayed, because I wanted to kick Carver in the face.
  • I stayed to make sure he was dead, I've seen how tenacious he is in tracking defectors and wanted no part of it.

  • I left. I didn't see a real benefit to watching him be beaten to death. My Lee taught Clem that sometimes you just have to know when to walk away.
  • I stayed but not to watch the murder of Carver, it was because I was kinda worried about Kenny (because who knows if he has brain damage after that) I knew he was gonna kill him but I wasn't sure if something else was gonna happen to Kenny after that xD So that's why I stayed. I actually didn't want Carver to be killed at all, maybe just tie him up or let the walkers deal with him.
  • I stayed with Kenny and Rebecca mainly because I've been a little biased towards Kenny (I tend to side with him more than the others), and watching Carver beat his eye with the walkie-talkie made me feel genuinely helpless in that situation - so watching Kenny get revenge was strangely satisfying.
  • he slapped clem in my play through, he was cruele, evil, and sick and tried to manipulate me.

he deserved to die and I watched him die without pity. I enjoyed every second of it.

and you cant stay innocent or afraid in this world, because the innocent and afraid ones die. and clem cant be afraid or innocent anymore. Im not saying she has to be a cold heart murder like carver to survive. im saying that she can be afraid to kill someone when needs to. because if she is it could mean life and death. and watching carver die might give her that strength to kill whoever that is..
  • I stayed there because I didn't want all hell to break loose and carver to kill Kenny somehow. I love me some eye patch Kenny btw

In TWD, there isn't a wrong choices, it is just cool, to see and hear how people react differently in these situations (and that's the thing makes this game awesome), i didn't watch cause i felt like my "canon Clem" is better than him or Kenny. But in my second playthrough i watched it and it felt pretty badaas.
  • I was regretting that decision... but after thinking more calmly and analyze the facts. I think it was the best decision at the time. of course that a 11-year-old girl watching a "Mortal Kombat Fatality" is, to say the least. very disturbing. But Clem is not a poor innocent kid. she saw so many terrible things.. Walter was a friend of Kenny and Clem liked him too. so I think the two shared the same hatred against Carver. after all that happened and when it became clear that Carver was a big crazy son of a bitch. Clem knew that killing someone like that was not a right thing to do. but that doesnt mean she couldn't stay there and watch that shit die like a worm!
  • Clementine has to be strong. She won't be able to hide behind her friends forever, she needs to see death. It's the only way she'll be tough enough to survive the zombie apocalypse, where dead people are literally walking the earth.
  • i disagree i did the opposite, i felt Clementine shouldn't see it. She is just a kid.

  • I stayed because Clementine is the strongest of them all. Everyone is depending on her, even if they might not necessarily admit it. He needs to be ready for anything. Even though this sounds terrible, she needs to start being desensitized by this. Things aren't exactly going to be happy rainbows and sunshine, even after they leave.
  • I wanted Clem to punch Carver in the face & say "That's for Walter."
