ONE Reason I Really Enjoyed Episode 3

It was unpredictable.

Carvers death (I thought he was going to last till at least episode 5 if not season 3)

Nick is still alive even though he's dead on some play throughs.

and most of all : Reggies death.

Completely caught off guard. Telltale hypes up the voice actor, in the plot it seemed like he was going to fit into the group and everything. He was a real likable character too.

Look, for people who have seen the Walking Dead show and played every episode of the game, it can sometimes be mildly predictable. Now, I am not saying that is a bad or good thing but for me it added a lot of shock value for that as I was completely caught off guard.

Bravo Telltale.

  • I liked it because more TWD.
  • Not going to lie, him being in the achievements 'kind of' destroyed the 'caught off guard'-effect for me.
  • Yeah, I knew he would die, but I didn't expect it so early. Usually if a new character is too nice, they end up dying. That's what happens when we get attached to some of the characters.
  • I didn't see it coming at all since the VA said he hoped to play Reggie for the rest of the season
  • Either he's a good actor or he hadn't finished his recording sessions

  • I felt bad for him all he wanted was to be welcomed back into the community by regaining Carver's trust but instead all he got from Carver was a taste of the cement...
  • Poor guy =(

  • Same, the way he said "Thanks for the help, girls.." as if he knew what was coming for him... ouch.

  • That's why you don't look at the achievements!

I'm so glad I didn't look at them. Any time you see a discussion about achievements in a future episode, just say "Nope" and book it.

  • Yep. This was the first time that I looked at the achievements and saw the trailer. Not again.

ME TOO LOL. But fuck, I get spoiled by assholes who don't put spoiler tags on achievemnts in random threads.

  • he kinda like a Walter of episode 3, kind of a good guy but then die before anyone else
  • After the episode when I was looking at the achievements I realized that I was pretty dumb to not know its him.

Not going to lie, him being in the achievements 'kind of' destroyed the 'caught off guard'-effect for me.

  • God sorry but he was Walter but MORE annoying, plus no offence to the voice actor but his voice was done pretty badly even for a short appearance.
  • hahaha I thought his voice really didn't belong either. It didn't really fit. However, I don't see him as a Walter. Reggie seemed overall more concerned with his well being than the groups.

  • Just because it was unpredictable doesn't make it good. It made his character feel incredibly pointless. As if he was only there so Clem could know that cutting Sarita's arm off would work.
  • If anything, Lee would be the one to know cutting the arm could work if you cut his arm off like the majority did. Not saying unpredictability makes it good however I thought the episode was good by itself that was improved because of the unpredictability.

  • How was the voice acting bad? It felt more like Reggie's voice actor didn't really know how well Reggie spoke english so his tone changed a lot. If you listen to it a lot you release it's actually pretty good voice acting.

  • I was shocked during practically the entire episode... except for some things that I just kind of expected to happen. Although, I would have been even MORE shocked if I hadn't watching the trailer or seen the screenshots and the achievements... but even knowing that, I know I can't just not watch the next trailer they put up... I have to see every bit of TWDG I can o_o
  • That's the point. Clem thinks it doesn't work if Lee died with his arms off. That's why Reggie only serves as proof that it does indeed work so that Clem may or may not cut Sarita's arm off.

    We were just.. trimming plants...
  • Among other other things I fully expected Carver to live till Episode 5 or at least 4. And I really expected Nick was going to die, in fact I was 100% certain since Telltale has never let a character live if he dies in another episode. Even though he played no role, Nick is still alive which really shocked me probably the most.
  • I really enjoyed it because its one of the few telltale games i can remember that seemed like it was bug free. Bravo, telltale.
  • I Enjoyed the episode in general, lots of shocks, the community was worse than i thought it would be,there was no hope even for Reggie of being a guard anymore,Nick still being alive in my second playthrough on a different save is excellent,as he died in episode 2 of my other save file,so kudos to Telltale for that, eveything happenend really fast, still getting over it lol

  • The first thing I said when Carver asked us to leave the greenhouse was "Reggie deaaad." So, I guess I can't say it caught me off guard.

I like Reggie as a character, but I can't say I was too heartbroken over his death. His dialogue, for me, heavily implied he cared less about the group and more about covering his own ass.

As annoying and inconsistent as his voice was, I wouldn't change it at all. It's great, I simultaneously love it and hate it.
  • really? I thought Carver would beat the crap out of him but not kill him.

It's sad that it seems like we are meant to meet one new character in each episode of S2 who's likeable/funny but dies anyway in the same episode.
Ex: Omid-Ep.1 (not new but still counts); Walter-Ep.2; Reggie-Ep.3

If we meet a new hilarious and loveable new person in Ep.4, I'm going to assume they'll be dead in that same episode.

  • Exactly how I felt..liked the actor. Didnt care for the character because all he botched and moaned about was "dont get me in trouble"

  • As bad as it was I thought Reggie was pretty soft. I mean obviously he in no way deserved any form of punishment but he really wasn't a strong asset to the group.

  • Well I think like you said it the first part his tone was a bad mix of english and the accent. It sounded awkward to me.

  • I have to admit, that line delivery tore me up. I actually replayed that scene a few times before getting to the point where Carver tossed him just to see if I could make it go at all easier for poor Reggie.

  • After he fell, I thought: "- HOLY SHIT!!! Carver is completely crazy, i need to get the hell out of this place!!"
  • I actually thought he might not have died. But yea, that was the turning point for me as well. I thought very naively at first that maybe the camp wasn't THAT bad but after that there was no doubt that every single choice I made was to leave the camp.

  • Nice to see that SOMEONE is optimistic about Episode Three.
  • I think more people are pleased than what it seems. I think a lot of people are confusing complaining about the actual content of the game and the technicalities of the game. People are upset because the episode was only 90 minutes or that 400 days characters weren't in there too long, but I have only seen a few that are upset with the actual story line. Me personally I agree with some saying there isn't much hype for episode 4. I mean it'll be interesting to see where the story develops as there is nothing for certain in the next episode.

Nice to see that SOMEONE is optimistic about Episode Three.

  • I love this episode too. There have been some fails (supervillian Carver suddenly turned into a stupid sadist, 400 days characters didn`t take part in the plot, etc.), but the whole episode was really epic.
  • I loved ep 3...its my favourite

Nice to see that SOMEONE is optimistic about Episode Three.

  • If only it was that easy :(
