Unfortunately as much as I like this forum there's a big amount of homophobia and people who just dislike everything. They can't even stand me bringing up a possibility. It's pretty sad.
Their existence isn't just so you know there are gay people around. Why is it that straight characters can just be there, but there has to be a point to having queer characters?
Why are straight people a thing in a game about zombies?
How many straight relationships have we seen so far? Several. And yet it's unreasonable to see us nasty queers?
If your escapist fantasy excludes people, then you're excluding them for a reason. "I have to put up with enough of The Gays in real life, why should I see them in my fiction?" sounds an awful lot like something a gutless bigot would say. Like, you don't want to see them in real life, so you settle for stories where they don't exist at all instead.
I don't really like seeing gay people around me, that is part of my value system and non-debateable. But I don't really want to exclude them from a game or anything, since they are what makes it realistic. Still, making Clementine a lesbian seems not very realistic to me, rather it would seem like including her sexuality solely to make the game "progressive" and hence interesting. Just don't sexualize Clem, that should satisfy both sides.

How would her being attracted to another girl be unrealistic?
And who said anything about sexualization? I don't think anyone's asking for the Bioware treatment here. Maybe just them holding hands during cutscenes or whatever. Standard fluff.

What's there to question, really? She's scared, lonely, anxious, whatever, and she goes to another person for emotional comfort. Romance and junk ensues. Just like real life.
Clem could surely question her sexuality in a calmer place (maybe not right now) where she can think about that. She's at the point In her l… moreife where's she's like "what the hell is happening to my body" "who am I?" I remember being 11, 12, and 13 and being like that.
Exactly, like I said, gotta survive first. Once she's safe (as much as she can be in that universe) she can be happy with whoever she wants or just by herself if that's what she wishes.

Or she might die an adolescent. Of course, I hope to God Clementine lives to be at least 18 years old, or at least experiences some sort of true, if temporary happiness before death. I don't know how likely I'd say it is that Clem will ever be a mother. Maybe she'll end up looking after Rebecca's baby and be a mother figure for it, but I can't say with any amount of certainty that she will ever have children of her very own.
Eventually, she will get a love partner. As Luke said, family is the most important thing in post apoc. world, so Clemeintine shall someday become loving wife and mother.
She will not stay a child forever.
As a general rule pre pubescent girls aren't super interested in boys, add to that the zombie apocalypse no pre teen would be interested in a relationship outside of friendship.
I think if it really happened and gave us a choice 100 % of players will refuse which you would see in the stats ( except the ones that replay the episode to see different choices ) !
This may be a very unpopular opinion, but I don't see any romantic options for Clementine at the moment other than Sarah. The age gap between the two is at least acceptable, and they've shown to care greatly for each other so far. It's thanks to Sarah that Clem was able to patch herself up in the shed, Clem stood up to make sure that Sarah wasn't found by Carver at the cabin, Clem was there for Sarah throughout the hardships of episode 3, and she's the only true friend Sarah has left now that her dad is gone. Clementine has not shown any signs of sexual preference, or any romantic interest in anyone at all, but unless some boy about her age just comes strolling along out of the blue, she is either going to live alone or have something of a relationship with Sarah. And if Sarah dies, well...

Thanks. I just hope people don't mistake my outlandish opinion for trolling. I took my time to think and formulate that opinion, and I don't fuck around when I discuss Clementine's future. I only want what's best for her.
Dunno where you got those stats, not that it matters. Still doesn't explain how it's unrealistic.
How is her starting to develop feelings for another character sexualization? She's at that age. If you're doing a coming of age story with zombies, aliens, nuclear war, or whatever, a first love tends to play a part.
Well, chances that she is a lesbian are about 1-2% and it partly depends on her upbringing, not entirely on genetics.
Better don't sexualize her at all, open things are better to discuss about and can't annoy anyone.

When she is 18 she might hook up with Luke if he is still alive. (Doubt it.)
Or maybe she is gay and will hook up with Sarah? Who knows. An Indian and an African making a fire.
Liked, since I support the idea of Clarah. I don't know if I can foresee them getting together anytime soon (Clem is only 11 right now, after all) but in the future it could be possible. Even if there's no romance involved, I do think they'll end up being good friends, or at least sidekicks.
I will be so disappointed and heartbroken if Sarah dies in an upcoming episode.

Agreed. I think it's great how people like you and I feel this way because we still have the emotional attachment to this season that a lot of fans seem to have lost. There is definitely a shortage or any Lee/Clem quality bonds, but Sarah and Clem have something special for sure. A lot of people are calling her "the Ben of season 2". It's unfortunate that not many people seem to understand how important she probably is to Clementine, and that Clem would be devastated if Sarah died.

I would say no considering the fact she's 11. Maybe if it was a playful harmless thing then why not? But kids nowadays are getting too "advanced". I would say no because of that. And who's she gonna date? Everyone else is much much older than her.
I mean, kids get together. They hold hands and uh... I dunno. I mostly just want to see more options for Clem to go to bat for Sarah. I was really ehhhhhhhh about not being able to chime in at all when Carlos slapped her. The hug option afterwards was okay (and subtexty) but I feel like there's a lot more room.

Do you know if the specific dialogue choices to Sarah after Carlos dies matter? I told her to run because it seemed to be the best choice, but thinking back, it might not have been so great.

Im pretty sure Clem would not be interested in a boyfriend especially at her age now. Plus after what she saw happen to Omid and Christa.... Well i probably wouldn't want a boyfriend/girlfriend in the apocalypse either knowing they could die as
easily as Omid did.
wtf?!?! Shes 11!! and after playing Lee my attachment emotionally to the character is like that of a father...anyone trying to date my 11 year old daughter better run fast and wear a Kevlar effing vest...
I don't think so, Sarah screams and runs off into the woods regardless of what Clem says.
I told her to run too since getting out of the horde as soon as possible seemed like the rational decision, and I would've made Clem run too if I could.
Yeah, after episode 3 I felt a lot more attached to the cabin group, but I was always attached to Sarah and I see a lot of potential for a heavy emotional bond between her and Clem. Sarah was always sticking up for Clem in episode 3, even if you had been rude to her previously, and I thought that was great. I'm seriously excited to see where the development of their relationship goes.

Me too, hopefully we'll get something like that in episode 4.
About Carlos slapping her, I think Clem wanted to say something, but Carver made it pretty clear that anyone who interfered would get punished as well. If you try to stick up for Sarah beforehand, he tells her to shut up unless Clem wanted a piece of what Sarah was getting, so I can kind of understand it.

If you're that dumb, it means the worst rating possible.

I just hope Sarah isn't Clem's Macauly Culkin in "My Girl."
