Anyone else kind of...'pleased' (for want of a better word) about what happened to ****?

Don't get me wrong: Sarita's situation is horrific and I feel so sorry for her.

However: she has been the character who's got the least character development out of anyone so far, and this event could lead to some really interesting conversations and interactions with her!

I really thought the choice was inspired.

  • Sure. That is, if it doesn't kill her.

Then she's just Kenny development device 2.0.
  • It's Telltale. She will not make it either way.
  • Mike kind of shoved her out of the most bland character spot. But yeah I agree the fact we barely know her and most of us did that is quite an interesting point
  • You know how they can solve this? Hubs.
  • Thing is, Kenny will KNOW she's going to die this time, which might make her death less traumatic than Katjaa's was for him.

  • Mike isn't bland. He's level-headed, speaks his mind and stands up to Kenny. That's more development than Sarita, IMO. I hope he's not just some token redshirt black man.

  • I agree with you. It's a great development for her, as long as she does not die. Don't want her to become a plot device for Kenny like Kat and Duck were. But it looks like that is very likely.

  • Considering it can determinately end with her just getting bitten, I think her fate is sealed. It'll be a Pete situation all over again. Then again, Nick's made it pretty far if he survived episode 2. A part of me really wants Sarita to make it, but then I also think that'd just be the most ridiculous suspension of disbelief yet. I mean, Lee walking around at all with a chopped off arm was already ridiculous, but it was bandaged and he'd been out for a while. Maybe not long enough, but still for a good long time. They have nothing to take care of Sarita with and they're in the middle of a herd.
  • I chopped her arm off, but I have a feeling that it will get badly infected if it isn't properly cleaned and cauterized in time. I hope that she will live, because if she dies it would seem like just another way to break Kenny and get a reaction out of him. I want to learn more about her character.
  • *token redshirt URBAN man.

    Fixed it for ya.

  • Welp, it would have been nice to know her. Goddammit, I knew this was going to happen! Let's add her to the wasted characters list...

    I'm only half-joking there.

Fat chance. Well, she could at least pull a "drunk Nick" before her death, I guess.

    > I really thought the choice was inspired.

If the implications of her unavoidable death thanks to previous experiences with determinant characters had not been there when I had to choose, I would wholeheartedly agree right now.

I want to see what happens with her, how she responds to whatever you chose and how *Kenny* reacts. I wonder if he'd thank Clementine for acting there and then, or scold her because, well, he's Kenny from Florida; crazy shit comes out of his mouth sometimes.

Oh, yeah, that. I've almost given up hope for those. I'm now thinking of alternative ways of making her character die with some relevance other than to simply be -as put above- "Kenny development device 2.0.". It's the best we're gonna get.

  • I think its good like Carlos he was barely in the episode yet he died. Its good to keep people on their toes in real life it would be that way too.

  • You see, Carlos death was disappointing to me. Not because of the way in which it happened; many people have said that not everyone gets to go like a hero, and that it is good to keep folks on their toes, I agree with that. However, he feels wasted.

His introduction in the premiere left me wondering. Depending on your choices, he either "forgives" you or not, and I saw the potential of an interesting dynamic between Clementine, Sarah and Carlos. It gets glossed over, Sarah does not play that much an important role or interacts with Clementine more until Ep3 and Carlos is totally ok with you two being friends. Oh, and I can count your chats with Carlos with my left hand if it had some less fingers.

Was it natural progression? A sign of trust, after being a week together? Or just plain glossed over inconsistency? Well, we shall never know, he is dead and I barely knew him. We can speculate on what made him change his mind, some will come up with satisfying explanations, some do not care; it still bothers me.

  • I'm hoping Telltale allows Sarita to survive her injury, if only to undermine the dreary old "stuffed into the fridge" trope:

  • This is why I wish we hadn't of had that Five Days Later time skip. That's a lot of time spent with people, bonding with them, learning about them and it's completely skipped over. I'm really tempted to write a fanfic for that time period, showing Clementine getting to know everyone.

  • Heh, well if you do, I would not mind reading it. ;) I wrote something that I now have to consider in my headcanon, but it is just the idea; a suggestion I had made.

Camp, On The Road: Five days later. A scene with them camping and talking to each other. It has been some days since Clementine first entered their lives, and a little unofficial "welcome to the family" scene could've worked. Show us that these are people beyond what their stereotypes and the plot need them to be. This also strengthens the bond with this new group and makes a strong case on why you don't want them to die at the end. It also makes the dinner choice even more difficult.
