  • I think that's what they wanted players to do. Honestly. Why else would the put so much astonishing detail in it compared to if you walk away?

Um...you didn't have to watch Kenny beat Carver. Choosing to stay makes disturbing implications about clementine, to be honest.

  • imagine if the episode had no violence. it would be like a disney film called Carverland. it would have singing and all that shit
  • Bad things happen in the real life, as they do in the Zombie Apocalypse. The show is showing dark parts of the game, if you can't handle it don't watch the news.
  • It is! for mee too!I am a person who stays away from horror stuffs and plays Nintendo games (i guess ones that are not mature) Walking dead was a game I never thought I would play because of the themes it plays out. I watched S1 and bought S2.

And these things do affects you for sometimes, heck I never thought I would be telling Luke to shoot Carver. I now worrying if I am a violent person for not choosing the "tie him up" option. But I am now justifying his death for he was portrayed awesomely by Michael Madsen as a charismatic psychotic bastard..you should not let someone leave like that in real life, I am not justifying Kenny's way though, though he owns that rights for losing his eyes. I keep reminding myself it is just a game, I imagine all the VA being happy to be part of such artwork, and creating cool memories.

If anything did impact me greatly, Walking Dead really did make me come in conclusion to one thing. We FUCKING NEED society! even though society holds us back and imposes us through is facade, it keeps us human and imposes us the moral code(different from animals I might add...ehh not saying dogs/cats/birds are not amazing). So that really was one thing that impacted me the most.

Thank you for being kind and reasonable. I guess the violence and psychological aspects of this episode was just too realistic for me.

  • Just so not every post is against, you, I will say that the Carver beating was very disturbing to me and I didn't feel good about watching it. It's kind of what I was worried about, that these games would turn into pure misery.
  • So you watched it, and you complain about it now. What did you think was going to happen? Was Kenny going to give him a big ol kiss and say i'm sorry.

  • Well having someone's both eye come out of their sockets and have their face perfectly layered off to the skeleton for examination in a biology class (who is alive)....is something you didn't expect to happen. Ill have nightmares that is for sure.

  • Too much violence in a game set in an apocalypse world with zombies? Take a second to think this through.
  • I thought I might be given the option to stop him but I wasn't. That is what I thought might happen so no need to be rude.

  • Well i didn't mean to be rude. However Kenny isn't the most stable individual in the group. Did you forget about Larry?

  • Well if you watch the show and read the comics, TWD is like that. Life is brutal in the apocalypse. Even Last of Us was brutal. That's the world they live in. Besides, plenty of horror games are much worse than this. I'd rather play this than a pure survival horror (just not into those types of games).
  • Nope, but that was quick not a slow brutal deliberate face bashing.

  • I think that you overreacting because lots of games and movies are more brutal, have more violence. Beside The Walking Dead is a brutal, cruel world where death is around every corner and in order to survive you have to do things that you probably wouldn't done in diffrent situation. It's how it is and how it'll be.

    You mean this

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekLnmzJ0nd8

It's a rogue game man, zombies and shizzle.
  • The funny thing is I remember a person posting a thread a couple weeks ago saying that season two needs darker themes. Now we have people complaining that it is too dark, you can't please everyone that's for sure.
  • Are we even talking the same game? It's Twd Universe, you don't expect rainbows and sunshines.
  • I think that was the point. It was meant to creep people out with its brutality and show how ruthless Kenny has become. It was also meant to subtly punish the faint of heart for sticking around when everyone was telling you not to watch.

They DID say you didn't have to watch it.

  • Well, I already said why I watched it. I understand the point of it, I just didnt like it, and it sure doesnt make me feel any better about Kenny.

  • DORA is a good game for you--you will like it trust me
  • Nah, this type of violence does not affect me. I can ser why it could bother some, but I do not mind. Violence here expresses much. Besides, he warned you it was not gonna be pretty.

I actually thought the episode had too little, not of violence, but other things that make TWDG what it is... or well, was.
  • Especially after they dedicated an entire episode to him just before that, which basically spoilt the fact that he was going to die. Although, I honestly find Michonne a more interesting character than Herschel just because of her interactions with Carl, and because she's a pretty badass fighter.

Well the TV show and Comic tend to show that the violence really don't have to have any meaning they just do it for the emotional impact. On

  • I enjoyed watching him die. Fucker earned that death. And I don't understand how someone can be disturbed by video games, movies, and books. If fiction disturbs you how do you function in reality?
  • It's The Walking Dead.. it's been like this from the start.
  • Yea they have become predictable if a character other than rick and carl get more screen time then they is what we call in the game a determinant character. She is pretty badass but hershel was cool.

  • Oh, hello there Sarah, I was wondering where you ran off to.
  • Because they want you to live with making an 11 year old watch that. It's supposed to really disturb you.

  • Yes but lately that's the only thing we see in this game... There were better ways of creating emotional and/or horrifying scenes (season 1 hint hint)
