Season 3 concerns...

  • Clem is only 11 or 12, which means the game would have to follow her for another 7 or so years for her to reach adulthood. That's not happening. TTG can't jump significantly into the future either because that would place the game in front of the comics, which is the primary cannon.

  • Hm... I don't know. For what I know Lee is the one who was almost cut off from the game because one of Telltale's early ideas was to put Clementine's brother as protagonist of season 1. Either way it doesn't really matter what was before season 1 got released. It matters what it's about now. It's about Lee and Clementine. Their story and their efforts to survive in this world. More or less. Mainly it's about Lee trying to survive and protecting Clementine day by day. I'm just saying that their game was always about Lee and Clementine. Now Lee is gone so...

You do realise that Clementine was almost cut from the original story don't you? What makes me laugh is how so many say that she was always

  • It sounds like that new girl Jane is training Clem to survive or her own. And now telltale can jump ahead a few years to when Clem is 13/14 so I think its highly likely that she will be in season 3 if they make one.
  • Clementine the core of TWD Game just as Ellie is the core of The Last of Us. Without the two, it wouldn't work out.
  • Playing a Clem that's about 15-17 would be pretty cool. I don't get these downvotes, aging her up a tiny bit more would be great character development. Also of course she would be physically superior so she'd be able to do some cool things like Lee could do. (maybe?)

We should be able to play as Clem in season 3, but season 4 we should get new characters.

  • The problem is, we'd probably end up just waiting for the Clem sections, then just bored when you're playing as the other character. The other character could be awesome, but no one can beat character development from 2 other games.

I know but its something new. they need this franchise. and like I said I don't give a fuck if they don't put a new character that we can play along with clem. I just want to play Clem's story

  • Dying isn't the worst thing that could happen to her. You have to consider that.

That's what I'm rooting for if Clementine is not the playable character of season 3. I would fucking love it if it started off completely di

Actually the original story was about Clementine and her older brother

"Lee Everett wasn’t Telltale’s first idea for a main character. Originally, Vanaman planned for Clementine to come from a single-parent household where Clementine’s brother took care of her due to her mother not being up for the task. With this idea, Clementine’s brother became the lead, but Vanaman decided a pre-existing relationship would be too much to ask a player to take on in The Walking Dead world."

"Though Lee Everett is the character you control in The Walking Dead, he wasn’t the character that the game is built around. “Clementine was literally the first idea,” says Vanaman, who planned Episode Fives’s outcome before writing a single line of dialogue."

She was ALMOST cut because they thought people wouldn't care about her, which makes lots of sense considering how all kids in all media are annoying as hell.

"Clementine also had to be imaginative and precocious, which lead to giving her a hideout: the treehouse. “She’s already strong enough to isolate herself from her parents, knowing that her relationship with her parents is so strong that she can always come back inside,” Vanaman says. Since most of what’s been revealed about Clementine’s parents is from a phone message, it’s surprising to discover just how much influence they had in Vanaman’s creation of Clementine. “I wanted her parents to be the sort of parents I aspire to be one day. That informed who she was to me,” Vanaman says."

Just look at how much emotion Vanaman put in creating Clementine, no wonder season 1 is perfection itself. Meanwhile we get all these amateur writers failing character consistency and overall screwing up everything just because they want a paycheck so they can go drink at a bar or buy tons of netflix movies.

  • I don't know exactly why I mean, you really think that they can makes like or even love another character? I know they can and I was just suggesting since It would be something different they would like to try out. but like I said Clementine would HAVE to be there the story WOULD HAVE to still revolve around her. I mean if they do anything to clem, anything bad my heart would be too cold to even care about any new character. I would still play it but it would never reach the level of love I felt for lee and even less Clem

  • What exactly happened to Vanaman? Why isnt he working on Season 2 also?

  • He and Rodkin left to make their own company.

I'm wondering if they foresaw what Telltale has become and didn't want to be a part of it.

  • Look how long they kept Sam & Max going. Telltale's other biggest franchise went on for well over a decade, and with TWD now being their biggest game, I'm pretty sure they'll go on for a Season 3.

Now, a Season 4 or beyond... I'm not too sure.
  • Yes, I agree, that is why I wrote at the end of the series not the end of this arc. I absolutely think she should survive this season and the future ones. I'm just saying, I could very well see her dying at the very end. In fact, I can't really see it ending any other way. All we can hope for is that she makes her time count.

In a sense you're right. Everyone in TWD will die eventually but that doesn't mean the protagonist has to die at the end of each story arc.

I don't think so, he's still in good terms with Telltale now. He probably just got tired of working on the same genre for the amount of time he did.

  • I would love to play as her in season 3 as a late teenager or early adult. Then, you have the responsibilities like Lee did, but you're still growing up as Clem. Who knows, maybe Clem will have to raise her own protégé someday like Lee did with her. (Rebecca's baby?)
  • I'm not talking about adulthood, more like growing into her teenage years. And also I want it to happen slowly over the course of several seasons, which of course gives Kirkman time to progress the timeline in the comics even more thus giving TT freedom to grow Clem up.

  • Well yeah no one is gonna leave a company with "yeah you guys suck i dont wanna work here anymore"

Even though i wish them both the best of luck in all of their future endeavors i kind of want them to not do so good and get their asses back to Telltale and do an amazing Season 3.

Ah, I don't see that happening really. Plus, Telltale has a history of nothing but good writers. Having been a dedicated fan of them for years I can assure you that. The main problem I'm having with Season Two is the fact it's more of a TV show now than it is a game. Barely any moments where you get to walk around and heck, there wasn't even that many dialogue trees in Episode 3.

This is a story about Clementine in the walking dead universe....

IF she dies, it will be in the very last episode.
  • I feel the same, I mean I decided to help Sarah even though she is fucking annoying, and when I helped her it felt kinda like Lee and Clem, only this time Clem was the caretaker

  • I think there will most likely be a season 3. When it officially comes down to deciding between Luke and Kenny in Episode 5, the one that survives will follow you into Season 3. That's my prediction. There should be another time skip as well.
  • It would be awesome if we could decide with our choices in what she will grow up to be, A heartless survivor whom only cares about surviving and kills the weak like Carver, or a more like Lee character. It would be awesome if our choices would be responsible for her

  • Yeah continuing to play as Clem makes Season 1 a fantastic sort of an intro to the world, and from then on you're left to make Lee's dedication count for something. No pressure Clem. :P
  • I dont think we're going to get enough seasons of the game for that to happen, though. Maybe we get one more. And in some ways, im not sure where else TTG can go with Clementine after this season. It would get stale if they kept focus soley on her all the time. If TTG is going to continue TWD, id welcome a different exploration of the world. Maybe in a foreign country like Africa or China.

  • Maybe you are right. I hope you aren't though. I still think Clem has a lot of story left in her.
I'm not a big fan of reboots / starting completely over for no reason at all...

  • Wow, imagine if they had cut Clementine :O

To be honest, when I first heard about the game, my first thought was: "Oh no, a boring point and click game with an annoying child companion I have to babysit."
    Boy was I an idiot.

  • #127 Of the comic has a two year time jump from where clem is now. I would love to see her in Alexandria with Ricks group. Kicking ass with carl! or she could join negan...

That's arse how come the people that have such an impact on twd are always leaving like Frank Darabont for the TV series he did the first Season perfectly well and after he left it just follows the same formula just kill a character off to keep everyones attention.

He and Rodkin left to make their own company. I'm wondering if they foresaw what Telltale has become and didn't want to be a part of it.

  • It's unlikely they'd feature characters from the comic that closely due to potential canon conflicts.
  • Because money is very corrupting.

  • Good point...

    Because money is very corrupting.

  • Hopefully though, it would track the choices we make and keep Clem relatively "In character".
  • I think is better to let Season 3 discussions in the end of Season 2, nothing that we will have almost nothing to talk about ;)
