Nick absolutely hero worships. Now me saying this isn't in relation to the sexuality discussion, he can be straight and still be hero worshiping. But seriously, in episode 3 it's evident that he looks up to Luke a LOT. Like Evinshir said that can be construed as attraction (like what we're doing in this thread) but either way you look at it, it's hero worship.
I also played both. Hugging a friend because his uncle died is a normal reaction, whether you do it when you find the friend or when you fin… mored the corpse doesn't matter.
Nick doesn't "hero worship" Luke in episode 2. He actually says that he didn't even want to do business with him at first, but that they got drunk and he finally accepted. In episode 3, he hopes that Luke will save them and agrees with him that leaving is risky.
Whatever. I can tell you just the opposite, I know plenty of straight people that don't like to be called gay. I wouldn't trust Kenny on this. He's from Florida and crazy shit comes out of his mouth.
I still think it was a joke.
Speaking as someone who identifies as asexual, I agree that I would prefer the gaming industry work on better female representation. But sexuality representation isn't completely comparable to gender representation, they're kind of two different leagues both being underrepresented.
It's not about making this a competition or "who deserves representation" more, because that divides people.
It depends what you define as underrepresented to be honest.
I mean, what percent of the population identifies as asexual? I read somew… morehere that it's roughly 0.5 percent, meaning 1 in every 200 characters. Now, lots of characters' sexualities are never stated too.
They are slightly underrepresented, yeah, but it's nowhere near as problematic as the underrepresentation of female in the game industry (twice as many male characters as female characters in the walking dead, as well as more male zombies than female ones) or the film industry (where 17% of characters are female), in a world where females hold a slight majority.

I didnt call out anyone for being gay, i was just answering a question but whatever. These kind of threads are stupid anyhow, who cares if the characters are straight or gay.

We've explained why time and time again, it gets really damn old. Maybe sit down and think about why someone would want representation instead of expecting people to answer that for you.

They are. I'm sorry they do that to you. Just keep being yourself and try to ignore the things they say--it's easier said than done, I know.
They're the ignorant ones for thinking it's even an insult. Just hold your head up high and remember that you're better than them, and you're smarter than them.
Sorry. I know you didn't ask for advice. I just take it personally when I hear about someone younger than me getting picked on. My inner big sis comes out and wants to help. :/
I have noticed the overwhelming majority of people on this forum want to believe in theories that are just not true. I played through that entire episode and not once did I even consider Nick was gay. There is absolutely no solid proof behind this, as there are most theories I see. Sorry I am being an asshole and crushing everyone's hopes but you realize some people on this forum are now actually thinking and believing Nick is gay because he was "thinking of Luke" and "acting like an angry woman." Its ok to speculate but to pull theories out of thin air with no backing besides your opinion is a bit much. Nick is not gay.

there isn't a big deal . . .barge in ? were being a bit over dramatic here. Im just stating my opinion which happens to be factual, as Nick is very clearly not gay.
No, Luke and Nick have been friends for 20 years, it's a bromance. Nick really looks up to Luke, he wants to be like him because he feels inadequate in almost every way, hence the outbursts and depressive tendencies. Nick talks about Luke because he is the last connection to Nick's life before the apocalypse, I'd cling pretty damn tightly to that too. Nick needs support and strength, Luke provides that for him but that doesn't make him gay. They touched and hugged a lot because Nick's mom and uncle are dead, and he needed physical support. The "tucking in" comment was obviously an inside joke, it was to make Luke laugh, friends like to make each other laugh. Kenny made that comment to be a jackass, but I don't think he actually meant it. It's common for two guys that are best friends get comments of that nature. Until there is canon evidence (ie; I'm in love with Luke, He doesn't see me in the same way etc.) then Nick's not gay. In my honest opinion.
I'm not exactly sure.
Nick doesn't seem gay to me.
And Nick's response to Kenny's comment, may not mean he's gay, but is just someone who gets offended easily.
I know a lot of people like that.
That line: "Come to tuck me in," might have just been a joke.
From what I've seen, Nick and Luke seemed to be like brothers.
And brothers have been known to joke with and bounce one-liners off each other.
And here is something to think about, with Pete dead, Luke is the closest thing to family that Nick has left.
Never for a moment would I think Luke is gay.
Luke is definitely straight!
As far as Nick goes, I guess the only way we'll have to wait and find out.

The only facts we have is that Nick and Luke grew up together and have been childhood friends. Beyond that it's all open to conjecture. So you can have the opinion that he's straight - but it's not actually a known fact of the story that he is.
As has been pointed out here there are plenty of signs that could be read as showing he's gay. All you are doing is proving how straight is seen as the default when there is a lack of evidence. But that's the whole point - neither Luke nor Nick have said anything that proves without a doubt they are straight or gay.
So while it's fine to say you don't think he's gay, you have no grounds to come in an sling "my opinion is fact" around.

Do people even realize how ridiculous this is, that we get into arguments like this each time someone dares to say "Hey, I don't think this character is straight"? It's pitiful. It's pitiful and it's backwards.
I'm sick of wanting to have serious, civil discussions with people about valid theories, only to be constantly be invalidated by people coming in and saying how stupid and delusional we are.
It's fine if you don't see it that way and a lot of you have expressed that opinion respectfully. But there are folks who want to treat us like we're crazy, like we're grasping for straws, like we're trying to purposefully stir up trouble. That's not fair. This is harmless. All we're doing is humoring the idea that a character we like could serve as LGBT+ representation.
I just want one thread where the word "gay" is used and there isn't a shitstorm.
Nobody has said you, or anyone else, is stupid or delusional. They may say the theory is stupid or delusional because they don't see any concrete evidence behind it, but why does that matter? There are always going to be people who hate on another person's opinions/theories, it's just how the internet is. The point of a forum is so we can debate, not universally agree about something. As you can see from the thread, some people agree with you, and then there are some who don't agree with you. There is no need to take it so personally..

I mean I've been called dumb and told that my "brain is screwed up" over this shit so yeah, people are saying that.
I take it personally because the thread about Bonnie having a crush on Luke doesn't get this kind of hate. I take it personally because this isn't just about theories, it's about representation for real human beings who are gay and play this game. Of course it's personal.
Like I said, it's FINE if people don't see it. What upsets me is when people feel the need to express this by being unnecessarily malicious.

Real talk. I hate not being able to discuss anything LGBT+ related here due to all the homophobic assholes or the dismissive people who say "it doesn't matter" It matters to me, and I want to discuss it. That should be enough, but no, I have to write up an essay of reasons on why it should matter and then people STILL don't get it. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
I'm gonna stop there since I'm tired and I'm making myself upset thinking about it, but I agree, I'm sick of it too. It's not this thread alone either, it's the whole goddamn forum. I bring up the idea of a character possibly being queer and I'm told to get out and called a lesbian slur? That is honestly disgusting.

TOTALLY unrelated, but I think Nick and Luke's failed business was a pyramid scheme that Justin orchestrated.
