Only one enjoying this episode and season?

There seems to be a lot of negativity at the moment but am I the only one loving this season and the previous episode. Yes I wish it was longer but honestly I'm enjoying the characters, story and am actually a fan of the more streamlined approach. I always played the game for the story not the few easy puzzles.

People can criticise the game I'm not saying they shouldn't but at the same time I think its fair that I can say I really enjoyed the episode and this season, I actually like some of the changes they've made.

Am I alone of does everyone hate the game now? Note that I dont think season 2 is perfect however many of the complaints I'm seeing people make were problems in season 1 as well.

Nope, I loved this episode. Favourite this season, and third favourite overall.

I don't understand the length criticism; for me it lasted one hour 50 minutes which, while annoying, isn't the worst telltale have done (Looking at you, Smoke & Mirrors)

I still love the game despite a few minor things and i am really looking forward to the rest of the season.

this was my favorite episode ever. and I love this while season so far. I don't know why everyone else is complaining so damn much.
  • I loved it. I agree with some of the complaints (slightly) but most seem more like personal problems.
  • Loved the episode and I'm excited to see where the season heading to.
  • I didn't like ep3 on my first playthrough but i've just completed my third and i think it's a great episode and season but telltale need to start listening and be more open regarding release dates
  • Don't remind me about smoke and mirrors, and don't remind me that I waited 4 months for it :S

  • I feel ya, dude, I enjoyed the episode just as usual, Telltale still got the touch. All them negative vibes from the forum don't disturb me, I'll always love this game, no matter what.
  • I feel the same way. the thing is almost nothing can beat the ending of 105. but 203 is RIGHT behind 105

  • I thought this episode was the best of the season so far. That said, some of the criticism leveled against the episode was valid and I can see why people wouldn't like it if they came in with certain expectations.
  • I liked the episode, but I think that there could have been things that could be a lot better, like the 400 days characters.
  • I have enjoyed this season a whole lot and I am pretty sure that when all the episodes are out and it is a more wholesome experience the outlook will be much more different.
  • There were things I didn't like, obviously, but I loved it too. It's so intense, and I never put so much thought into what I said or felt so threatened in any other episodes of either season.

I've really been enjoying this season and Episode 3, I just wish I could've done more interacting in that episode than there was watching. I'm all for storytelling, but...T.T is it terrible that I kinda wanted to cut the branches off one of those plants and pick the berries?

Still I'm having a lot of fun with this season :P Episode 2 is my favorite.
  • Yeah I personally didnt mind that much it was almost 2 hours for me too

  • Yeah, I don't get any of the negativity, like... at all.

I have no trouble in saying that this Season is much better than the last so far. The premiere was better than the S1 Premiere. It was more intense, made you care about the characters just as S1E1 did(to the point where I count Pete's death to be one of the saddest, despite the fact that we only knew him for one episode), it also had way better pacing. I actually consider A New Day to be the worst episode mainly because as soon as things got moving, it slowed down to a crawl due to massive hub areas. Hub areas can be good. An example would be when you were giving the food out in Episode 2. you could have just given the food and got it done with, or talked to people. But having everything slow down to a snail's pace in Episode one in the drug store was a bad idea...

Of course, I considered A House Divided to be the best episode at the time it came out, and now In Harm's Way to be the best. So individually, each episode has been better than those form Season One.

As for overall problems with the season, people complain about hubs. I personally don't think that it's a problem. I don't care about these characters any less due to the lack of hubs, and honestly, S1 used the hubs wrong a lot of the time. It broke up the pacing of the episode, some were almost useless, etc. Hubs... yeah, not really a problem. Would it be nice to have small areas to get to know characters at the right moments? Sure, but the lack of them isn't really a problem.

The length is also something else people complain a lot about. I don't think any of the episodes have felt "rushed", and I don't believe that any of them have been cut short either. Would it be nice to have longer episodes? Of course, maybe the occasional hub could provide that. I'm neutral on length though. I'd like it, but it hasn't been ruining the episodes for me or anything.

Given all that, I can easily say that I think this Season is significantly better than that first.
  • I am enjoying this season, but it always feels like something is missing when I play. It seems like the characters are losing a bit of their personality as the season progresses, with the exception of Sarah and Kenny. We don't get to interact with the other characters as much as season 1 and it has way less drama, so it feels like Clem is not really part of the group, she's just travelling with them.

I like this season, but it is like cotton candy, it is good, but it doesn't fill you up.

I really did enjoy the episode. It took several playthroughs to fully grasp it, but I loved it. But as I said on other threads, there was some things missing that should've been in their, including the length. Other than that I was tensed with this episode. :3
  • Well, I was surprised at how many hate this episode reiceived because personnaly I loved it. The episodes are getting better and better in my opinion.
  • Nope. I am loving this season though it does have some flaws but it's a good season so far.

Season Two has been getting mixed feelings around here the moment it began, because people want to have hubs. And longer episodes.

It's pretty obvious at this point that we're only going to be getting episodes like this though so I don't think it's even worth complaining about. Having puzzles and the like at this point wouldn't make sense either since it is well, a video game at the end of the day. A sequel yes, but not the same game as the first season and should be judged by it's own merit.
  • I like it just fine.
