Alright, this is the PD I've been waiting for. They talked about all the good moments on the episode and the design choices and... this is great for me!
Alright, so the first thing I want to point out is the feeling of being a prisoner. I think that for all intents and purposes, that was indeed conveyed well. The Carver smack was a little too overboard for me, kind of unnecessary even, but shit, I got the message. The tension is there, sometimes I was genuinely afraid to speak up against him, even though I *knew* Clem was going to come out more or less ok to continue.
That was done fine, but I still think that Carver and Troy, and the whole damn place was overdone only so that we were glad to leave and see those assholes killed. I don't think that is a good choice. There was a bit of ambiguity with Carver last episode and in the beginning of this one when Clem comments on all the food that they have, plus you know, the fact that people are content to live there. There was of course, poor Kool-Aid drinking Reggie whose role only was to, again, make a point about Carver and die. Nice.
People live there, yet at every turn I only see douches. How can anyone feel safe with that madman at the helm? Then again, people are changed by situations and their leaders, plus maybe not all know the psychotic nature of Carver, but eh... It is my opinion that, although cathartic and a (possibly, we'll see) strong development point for Clem's character his death and interactions were, he could have been done and written a little more... smart, I guess.
A villain that overstays his welcome is tiring indeed, but so is a villain with so little real substance other than being perfect material for us to hate. The Saint Johns were at times as compelling as they were mad, and the stranger, that hypocrite, was nuanced, too. We have seen both versions of the Governor, and I feel like we've seen a third now. He provides interesting commentary on who Clem is/is becoming, and I'm sure that his death is going to play a role in her character, but he feels so simple... That's my opinion anyways.
He works, though. That feeling of dread works and you really want to get the hell out of that place ASAP. It all was well put together, so yeah.
Let me try to say this in a nicer way than I previously had. I completely disagree with you 100%. I thought that did a great job, and this episode is actually may favorite one in the entire series so far. Aside form my own personal disagreements with you, you could perhaps be less harsh in your assessment of how you thought they did with this episode.
I'm getting really sick of Greg Miller's comments about Sarah. It's bizarre that he'd think it's okay to hate on her to the people who write her. To writers, our characters are like our babies.
At least he wasn't so much of a dick that he didn't feel sympathetic when Carlos had to hit her but like... I don't know. I just wish he'd tone it down a bit.
This episode had a lot of tense Action and choices, but we need a sense of continuation and development with the characters.. something this episode lacked a little. I think Carver got in the way of getting to know the characters because obviously everyone was focused on getting out of the camp.. Hopefully now that we escaped we can start to get to know everyone better.

Honestly, these are the types of people I wish Kenny would do what he did to Carver.

That's because i love TWDG to death and I'm scared because I've seen the same thing happen to other of my most beloved franchises. The negativity is also good because if episode 4 turns out to be only a little bit better then I'll be very satisfied.
The first one, because of course wider audiences suck... oh wait, they don't? Hmmmmm.
The second one, that's kind of shallow.
Finally, the third one. I wrote a comment asking if they don't like stories and people in general, and if they don't, what they disliked about the ones in TWDG. I know they aren't going to respond, it just feels fun pulling the comment apart like that. That person is obviously one of the people who spend all night playing CoD and yelling swears over their mic.

True but the slap was optional. They said it themselves it was a quick hint for sassy players that they couldn't get away with that stuff this episode.

Why dislikes we know he thinks only about himself example: I'm, I choice, I wanted, I thought, when I was playing! GREG MILLER THINKS ONLY ABOUT HIMSELF AND ASK NEVER WHAT WE WANT

That last one pisses me off. They deserve worse than what Kenny did to Carver. Instead of just repeatedly smashing their faces in with a crowbar, use the crowbar to gouge out their eyes. Then we can all have fun by playing ping pong/table tennis with their eyes! Let's make sure they survive the damage we deal to them though so that way they are permanently stuck with the way they look and there is no changing that. If they want to die, then they'd just have to kill themselves because we ain't doing it for them.

It is something that I appreciate them explaining and I do think it got the message across. I still find it unnecessary on Carver's part at that time, but hey, so was Reggie's murder.
I understand why they did it. How do you show your players who have meta-knowledge of the relative safety of their avatar that your bad guy means business? You attack that avatar. Actions speak louder than words sometimes.

So many fanboys/girls of different things, clashing. It is glorious.
