What's the point of "Remembering" ?

So in my playthrough, it said stuff liks (?) Troy will remeber that, (?) Carlos will remember that, (?) Reggie will remeber that, and (?) Carver will remeber that. But my question is... why does Telltale say that when they will die in the same episode?? I think there's no point. I mean Reggie dies right away and ugh idk. I feel like the things I do don't affect because of that problem. Still this doesn't change my love for this game

Comments

  • there is no point, it's just for telltale to show casual players that there choices will matter when they won't most likely
  • your choices have an effect later on in the game

like in season 1 is you say shit in the barn, it will say "clementine will remember that"

and in season 2 she sais shit if you cursed in season 1. so it changed what happens.

But I'm saying for the characters who will die. Not for the ones alive. That's different

  • It feels as if it's just to mislead us. So when the character dies it comes as an even bigger shock.
  • To give you the illusion that this game is like season 1.
  • exactly what i was thinking ^^

  • None, really. They don't mean much this time around.

Them being used on doomed characters is nothing new, though. Carley/Doug and Shawn can tell you that.

Well it does affect, just like dont_look_back said. And some characters might not like you if you choose to be rude against them (like Carlos, I think? When you were at the cabin in 1st episode, if you were rude against him he told you to LEAVE HIS MADAFAKIN SENSITIVE SARAH ALONE?? I cant remember tho since I chose to be nice to him)
  • season 1 had pretty much the same thing though

  • Not sure really but all I know is that they been doing this since Season 1.
  • i said she needed to grow up, he yelled at me and told me to stay away from sarah, yet in episode 2 he tells me to watch her, and in episode 3 he told me to calm her down because i was her friend, choiced don't really affect anything

  • You should at least have a choice to turn it off...
  • yeah i did that in season 1 but it won't let me now, it's kind of a bother since i know how things are really going to be anyway lol

  • It does not matter in the long run, though. Carlos may say that, but he apparently forgets by the time of *A House Divided* and he's totally cool with you and Sarah hanging out during *In Harm's Way*.

  • Oh well pardon me then

Yeah, but for example at the Hershel's farm if we say that you hurt your leg in the car accident, Lee will say something like "We were driving blah blah blah...". (?) Hershel will remember that. And after that Hershel would ask if you were alone in the car. If you say that you were alone, he would say that you said that "WE were driving....". And there was not the only moment in ep.1, there were more during the whole season. Were there any similar situation in S2?

  • Yes. If you told Pete that you were alone, he would say that you were alone and then bitten by a dog, whereas if you say you were with Christa he would say you were with a friend and then you were bitten by a dog.

  • Yeah

  • It's just a reminder that your choice will affect (or not) your gameplay somehow, and at some point in your history. :)
  • Best example: Ten seconds before Carley dies: "Carley will remember that."

  • Some of fans here already said something. I'll just say that without "remembering" we would already know who will die. Without it we would know for example - "Oh... this character doesn't have remembering. He/she will probably die in this episode" and later "I knew it!"
  • I mean you don't know that the characters are going to die necessarily, do you? Plus it just shows the player that what they are saying is having an impact on the characters around them. It's also sort of iconic for TWDG.

  • Even in Ep 2 Starved for help, when you're at the St John diary with Katjaa, Duck and Clem, Duck says something like " It smells funny.. "
And then Clem with a cute face says "Like Shit, Right Lee?"

It was so cute and sooo funny lool
