What are facts about the zombie virus?

It turns dead people into zombie. It's already inside every living person's body. It's not the bite that causes people to become zombies (as stated by Ben in Season 1). And as seen in the game, even if a zombie's blood is sprinkled to the eyes of a living person, it doesn't turn him into a zombie.

So if it's not the bite, then why do people cut the limbs where they got bitten?

    I guess that the bite just speeds up the process, and by removing the limb it stops the infection from spreading or something.

    Yeah, but it doesn't activate or whatever until the heart stops, and the saliva from zombies passes the activated infection through the bloodstream until it kills them and turns them into a walker.
    I'm just making it up, but it could be true.

    i actually dont think the zombies have the virus but they transmit another kind of sickness like rabies that is incurable then they die and become walkers

    Anything can do it. If you don't destroy the brain your coming back. Being bitten is like a death sentence. But being bit doesn't mean dying instantly. You get a fever and die after about 6 hours at least.
