What If we played Kenny in Season 3

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Keep in mind. I WANT to play Clem in Season 3. I think her story hasn't reached the heights it could. (I.E. we could show her as a teenager in a more mature setting like with lee.) but what if we played the game through Kenny's eyes in Season 3.

Kenny already proven to be a badass, he got beaten down yet he still managed that same day to get the group going. He comes up with plans while Luke, runs away like a little girl. How would you feel about playing the game through Kenny's eyes season 3?

Comments

  • I feel like he's way too pre-defined for a protagonist. Clementine was an impressionable kid who could be pulled any which way by your actions in season 1. Kenny is a full grown man who has himself figured out enough that making choices on his behalf just wouldn't feel right.
  • for a start kenny no longer has 2 eyes so its eye :) seriously tho i dont think kenny could add anything to the story in season 3. Personally i would hate to play as kenny with his temper and the fact that he has tunnel vision when he gets a plan into his head ( i like kenny tho)
  • I would love playing as Kenny, think of all the smartass comments we could choose to say to others! But just because we already know Kenny so well, I think playing as Nate would be the better choice.
  • Haha, no.
  • We should be able to play as a 400 days character if the possibility of multiple characters arises.
  • Instead of down voting, and giving a rude reply, why don't you say why you don't agree with me? Unlike you, I'll reply respectfully, without degrading your opinion.

  • I didn't reply to you or downvote you. I was talking about the discussion posted Yestlsme. I can see how you misinterpreted that and I apologize.

  • I know a lot of people are talking about a different protagonist in season 3 but I am thoroughly enjoying playing as Clem. It may just be because i'm a fan boy but I really don't want a new protagonist.
  • Luke? Runs away? HA, no. Luke WALKED from the lodge to Carver's camp. Without sleep, food or water. His plan was to get the radio, and wait for an opening. Kenny put EVERYONE at risk with his plan about going through the herd of walkers, which led to Carlos' death, Sarah running off, and Sarita getting bit.
  • Nah I think we should play as Eddie in season 3
  • Kenny basically took over s2 so far anyway, season 3 will be like 1 but Clem is gonna find a little boy in a tree house lol
  • Eh
    No

I'd be very against it. His character is very set-in-stone and he's done stupid things that I would never do. Making him the PC doesn't make sense. His character's irrational actions is what makes him who he is.
  • It's not his fault...
What do you think Carver meant saying "We gonna repeat it tomorrow" after beating Kenny?
It's better to escape with risk, than live under terror rules. Carlos would've die anyway, he seemed to be the Carver's biggest enemy, because of leading the "escape group" earlier.

Luke? Runs away? HA, no. Luke WALKED from the lodge to Carver's camp. Without sleep, food or water. His plan was to get the radio, and wait

  • I get why most players wouldn't want Kenny as a PC, but at this point I just can't see ANYONE being the protagonist for season 3 other than Clem or Kenny. Both characters have been with us since day one, and promoting someone like Luke to the position just wouldn't work, IMO. The same applies for a completely new character. Starting the series "from scratch" makes me feel like I have to watch THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN all over again; you know, that depressing, boring vibe of "been there, done that".

Of course, some fans thought Clementine would NEVER make a convincing PC, and that's one thing Telltale has definitely proven them wrong about...
  • I always get this weird feeling whenever people apologize to each other on the internet Dx,maybe its why i mostly come off as an asshole

I would absolutely hate playing as Kenny...

I've been trying to get him killed since season 1. I loathe him. I try to ignore what he says about plans, because if I take to much notice I'll pass over a plan, even if I would've done it, simply because it's Kennys suggestion.

I have a hard time understanding why any one likes him in any way. "Hey guys, I have stupid plan that I'll suggest in a rude way whilst assuming that everyone loves me and gives a damn about Duck"

I felt sad when he popped up in season 2, and the only joy I get from his return is the fervent hope that I'll get to see him die.

I can still enjoy the game, but it's very much in spite of Kenny.

Mostly. I'd say that the writers are still struggling with Clementine's character this time around.

  • Yes to this no.

    No.

  • Sorry, but I would not like to play as Kenny. Clementine would be great for yet another season, hopefully.
Also Luke did not 'ran away like a little girl', you should get your facts straight.
  • I feel like that's what Luke is there for. In contrast to Kenny, his character is a lot more of a blank slate and he pretty much has a few key characteristics (Kind, reckless, noble) and that's about it.
  • A DLC or something like it would be okay, but I don't think Kenny would shine as much as he does if he's not a NPC
  • I love Kenny but I wouldn't want to play as him
