Am I the only one... (e3 spoilers)

who doesn't like Jane? I don't dislike her either, but I'm noticing in the forums she's getting a fanbase and I'm not sure why... For me her only claim to fame was shooting Troy in the dick... and I'm not even too sure how I feel abou that...

  • I like jane a lot. people say she's crazy, but a zombie apocalypse can do that to people, and she might have been alone for 2 strait years without anyone.

And she certainly looks like she knows what she is doing! I want her to teach clementine so new survival skills. but ya I think Jane has a lot of potential.
  • I don't think she's crazy either, I agree with you she looks like she knows what she's doing. I just mean I don't really have enough on her to make an opinion one way or another. All I know is my gut says maybe...

  • I like jane, if at the end of season you have to choose your group, i like to go with her.
  • I think its cause Jane seems to be training Clem in the preview.
  • AHHHHH SHE SHOT MY DICK OFF!!!!!!!
  • eh honestly can take or leave her. I know for a fact she's just gonna take off as soon as she can. She's a lone wolf and my clem isnt gonna go with her if given the option.
  • I don't like her. She has to much hype around her like Luke and Molly. She hasn't done anything great. "Wow you made a female character that is confident about herself and doesn't take shit, nice going. That seems to be the thing around female characters in movies and games now, they always have to be badass. So she walked through a few hoards and helped with the plan, that's great but we know nothing about her.
She could be a real bitch and looking from episode 4 preview it seems that way. She tells Clem that her group is holding her back and wants her to ditch them. No thanks Jane, I've known you for a small part of an episode, she's coming off worse than Luke has ...
  • Nope. I don't get it either, she had like 12 lines at best and we still know almost nothing about her. They way she tries to convince Clem in the preview to leave her friends behind irritates me too. I kinda feel the same way about Mike, I barely know him but he at least seems like a good guy.
  • I think she's cool and I do like her character but idk she seems a little crazy and unpredictable. Although it seems like she trusts Clem, I'm kind of worried that she's going to make Clem fall away from the group.
  • Agreed, the only thing Jane has going for her right now is...nothing. The only "good" thing she has done was give Clem a small congratulations on getting the radios (I don't count helping the plan grow "good", she did it for her own benefit. "Or you can die here, doesn't matter to me."), and I feel she is going to be a major antagonist for Episode 4.

Molly was a good girl. Rude, but good. I have a feeling Jane is going to be an "evil Molly" if you will, a lone wolf that wants to sway Clem away from the group and I'm not having ANY of that.

  • I feel like that Jane is pretty much a cliche, with the whole badass chick thing. I like her, but she's nothing new.
  • I do find her somewhat unrealistic since she acts like she goes through herds of Walkers all the time while being soaked with Walker Guts which makes no sense because if they did that frequently then she would, more likely than not, have contracted some sort of disease or pathogen. However I might be thinking about it wrong in the sense that I take it as her putting guts on herself all the time.
  • I don't know but for some reason I trust her 100%

    I don't know why

Neither do I, she's just overly cliché to me and not that interesting at all. Normally overly badass characters I'm never too fond of. With Molly actually being the only exception ever to me.

    Mike was pretty cool though.
  • You gotta love how badass she is though, reminds me a bit of Michonne from the show. I just hope Jane isn't the bad guy and you get to know more of her story.
  • I hope Jane has some more backstory. Right now she's been useful and pretty smart but she's just some loner right now with no ties or loyalties to anyone but herself. She reaaaally reminds me of Molly and I hope TTG takes her another direction.
  • She is awesome, Jane knows how to survive, i think she is smart, she keeps her hair short and she is not afraid of walking through herds, Clem could learn a few things from her.

i liked her a lot. she seems to have been through a lot and knows how to survive. and she is pretty bad-ass too.

she is like a "dirty urban version" of Molly. rsrs
  • I don't like or dislike her, she's just there.
  • I like her, character wise. But not for Clem. Yeah, she should teach her some sick tricks of survival, but I DO NOT want Clem to become a lone wolf. Lee never took that approach, his sense of empathy and compassion made the ZA worth living for. Clem's badass, yeah, but she's survived for this long because of honesty and compassion of strangers.

As Kenny once said, 'You fight it out for the folks you care about' or something like that!!
  • I getting you back after Ep 4, so she gets more screen time. So far she's a-okay character.

And for the record, you don't shoot people in the dick, uncool!!
  • I don't think her conversation with Clem in E4 will be as straight forward as we think, I think that conversation may go down like Chuck and Lees conversation. I hope we get to know her better next episode though.

I don't like how she seems devoid of any personality. Even characters who appeared for short amounts of time like Mark or Chuck had personality and gave us reasons to care about them.
  • I'm not sure about her. She kind of creeps me out honestly. Her face when she was talking to Troy was terrifying.
  • I LIKE YOUR GRAVATAR!! I forgot his name though, but he was the man from facade?

  • She is one of those badass characters.. Lets face it she seems like a Molly 2.0.. Same short hair.. same lone wolf personality and even same kind of voice.

Yep. He's from Facade. His name is Trip, though I read somewhere that Trip is just a nickname. EDIT: I learned his name, it's Travis. I wonder why he didn't know what he was doing, his dad was special forces.

  • I don't know what to think of her. I kinda dislike her for wanting Clementine to turn her back on the group. But, like you said, The only thing about her that I like is that she shot Troy in the dick.
  • Trip and Grace, ahahaha yess those guys! :D Travis?!?! Seemed like he got rid of Grace for Ben..

  • She seems... pretty capable.
    But she disturbs me somewhat.

Episode 3 brought up a lot of moments regarding humanity in regards to the lives of others, or the lack of it. For example, Luke saying that as much as he hates Carver, executing him is still going too far. And the way Kenny and Carver regard taking lives. And Rebecca too, as she actively wants Carver dead with all her heart.

I'm seeing a choice coming up between doing the humane thing, and the doing the best thing for your own survival.

Jane is an example of a character that only cares about her own survival, to the point that it has twisted her into a special kind of monster. The short hair, the badass attitude, she's Clem in the future if she goes down the path Carver expected her too by abandoning her humanity.

Luke represents keeping hold of compassion and humanity, and Jane is all about abandoning it and doing only what's necessary to survive.

She's going to try and groom Clementine to be like her, and probably end up putting her in incredible danger.
  • I really hope Jane and Clem become inseparable, I have a feeling Jane will be hard on Clem, but in the end they will be like sisters.
