Carver's gun

When Kenny shot Carver's kneecaps and picked up the crowbar, he asked everyone to wait outside. The only people in there was Kenny with a crowbar, Rebecca unarmed, and Clem who was also unarmed (Determinant). Remember after Kenny bashes Carver's face in, Rebecca takes Carver's gun from his holster? Why didn't Carver take his gun out of his holster and shoot Kenny before he caved his face in with a crowbar? No one was pointing a gun at him so no one could shoot him before he draws it out. Was this an overlook on the writer's part?

It takes time to reach down to your holster, unclip it, and point it up. I don't think Carver could have done all of that before Kenny jumped forward and bashed his skull in anyway. Unless Carver is friggin John Wayne, Kenny would have seen it coming.
  • Writer fucked up, again.
  • No the writers would have fuck up if they kill Kenny since he has a popular fan-base...

If I was about to get my face brutally smashed in with a crowbar, you better believe I'm not going out until I exhaust all of my options. I'm not just going sit there with a loaded gun and let some guy cave my face in.

  • Carver prolly knew he was gonna die anyways. Besides he can be determinantly shot 4 times so it wouldn't have been easy.

Well, I guess Carver is the type of guy who would rather die on some smack talk than a failed shooting attempt.

The shot to the shoulder doesn't seem to bother him. Clem's shot only grazed him and the two shots to his kneecaps will affect his ability to walk. If someone was about to beat you to death with a crowbar and you had a holster with a loaded revolver, wouldn't you at least try pull it out and defend yourself? If you fail then at least you know that you tried.

  • He would be shot if he tried. Kenny and Luke were armed and ready for any strange attempt of him.
  • Luke was outside and Kenny had a crowbar. Carver could have at least tried especially since he's going to die either way.

  • Wow! that's true, indeed. he could've shoot Kenny in his back. o_o

  • Maybe he was using this as a lesson for Clementine. If you stay, he says "Atta girl, Clementine. You go with that feeling you got now, it's what makes you stronger than the rest of em."
  • Perhaps. but it is still strange, a man like Carver would really let such an opportunity like that pass?

  • He couldn't have kill everyone there so he was dead either way. (Luke or someone would have just shot him)

And lets say he would have, he's a crippled old man, he's done, waste of resources and just an burden.

Everyone was outside while one-eyed Kenny, pregnant Rebecca, and little girl Clem (Determinant) stayed behind. Carver could have quick-draw his revolver and shot Kenny since he was the only one with a weapon in the loading dock and on top of that it was a melee weapon. Which is faster? Kenny's swing of the crowbar or a bullet?

You would think that he would have liked to avoid such a gruesome death that he had.

  • I guess he is just too psycho to give a fuck if he's going to die or not.
  • I wouldn't be so sure. Ken's gonna have quite a bit of trouble seeing ANYTHING nowadays.

  • ...he could also miss the crowbar swing with his new lack of depth perception I guess, lol.

  • Well, everyone still were like 10 feet a way so yeah... getting shot was pretty likely.

And bullet or crowbar? More like going with a huge villainish way and stand his ground or get shot without his nice speech.

    Storywise, speech is more powerful.

  • Yeah, Ken's no Gordon Freeman. He might have missed the swing and fallen forward like he tripped on a banana peel.

  • What a clever and precise villain.

Well, I guess Carver is the type of guy who would rather die on some smack talk than a failed shooting attempt.

  • I think Carver accepted that there was nothing he could do that would save his life. Even if he did manage to draw the gun fast enough to kill Kenny, Luke and Bonnie were still there armed with rifles. Also, I think Carver was giving himself up to see whether or not Clementine would prove him right by staying behind to watch him get killed for revenge.
  • I just remembered that the first teaser of the episode 3. right when you just finishes episode 2. There's a scene where Carver hits Kenny with a handgun. perhaps this scene is related to that part. and they changed it later.

Luke was outside and Kenny had a crowbar. Carver could have at least tried especially since he's going to die either way.
