Idea for the direction of the rest of S2

Kenny is going to kill Luke.

Again, all just speculative, but my thoughts are that a great bit of Kenny's development is to go down the rabbit hole with him and make him an unstable, yet sympathetic monster. He suffered the loss of his family in Season 1, then in S2E2 you really start to get an impression that he's a little on the scary side. He's emotionally explosive and he did or said something to Luke. The next time we see Luke in E3, he's really shaken up.

S2E3 is really the start of breaking down Kenny's walls into murderous territory. Once Carver beats Kenny to near death, Kenny's now crossed a line into potential Governor territory, and I think they symbolize that with the missing eye. When I first saw him approach the group after that beatdown, I thought "Oh boy, here we go."

I feel like S2E4 is going to show Kenny's inevitable explosion. The player/Clementine has a soft spot for Kenny, but what -one- thing could Kenny do that could turn the player/Clementine against him? I believe that to be the murder of Luke, the only other character we really have an attachment to at this point. This would be enough to push the player to see Kenny as a real problem, and one that actually needs to be put down. Hopefully Luke gets a moment to really shine in E4, because I suspect for it to end with that.

My guess from there is that E5 would culminate in Clementine's decision and act to put Kenny down herself. It would mirror a lot from Season One of her shooting Lee, would continue to push Clementine down a really dark path and do exactly what Carver said in making her very much like him.

Anyway, that's my guess right now. Thoughts...?

You forgot to add how Kenny might also react to Sarita's bite/missing arm. Good theory though. Reminds of how people were speculating if Kenny did anything to Luke because he was gone in the end of ep 2.
  • So... Kenny, the new Lilly.
  • I feel like Sarita's bite/missing arm isn't really gonna get that strong a reaction from Kenny. He's already so detached from everything, and he was slightly aggressive with her in E2. And after Kenny killed Carver, Sarita was straight-up frightened of Kenny. Their relationship is already crumbling down, and I figure we'll see that in E3. But I don't think that Sarita's current predicament, in Kenny's already resolved picture, is gonna make much a difference to him.

  • Oh god... what if instead of Luke, because we have this Pizza/Ice cream choice to make... he kills a fan favourite, Nick.
    I would explode.
  • I feel like Nick isn't gonna make it much further anyway, since his status is determinant after E2. Kenny may add him to the body count in E4, though.

I focused more on the convo of Carver & Clem about killing Reggie. And how Reggie's "incompetence " was too risky and dangerous to the group so he had to die. Though Clem may have called BS at the time, I think the more the group ask her to do things, the more she start weeding out how is helpful and who is burdensome. Maybe the climax would be Clem stopping or letting Kenny kill Luke for example. I was thinking more of Clem deciding to kill Sarah if she returns and still can't change her behavior, especially if you watched Kenny beat in Carver's face/skull.
  • wow when you think about it it ould turn into a very emotional scene. Kenny does some shit in ep 4, then clem starts to fear ken and in almost the end to EP 5 clem makes the choice to "put down" Kenny and points the gun at him catching him off guard Kenny surprise and pleading not to get killed but Clem shoots him.
  • Kenny can't kill Luke.... because he has to find Luke first.

I know a good direction to go in. More hubs where we get to interact with the characters would be nice. There hasn't been enough of that this season so far and it would be a simple way to prolong each episode and get to know the characters a bit better.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Nick make it through In Harms Way but I'd be down right pleasantly shocked if he makes it through Amid the Ruins.

  • I actually agree with 100% of the comments here. There's always a chance of anything happening. I think he'll start going down-hill and everyone will fear him a bit. He'll be rude and cold to probably everyone but Clem. I honestly wouldn't ever forgive Kenny ever if he did kill Luke. But, I don't know if I would have the heart to "put down" Kenny.
