What did Carver mean when he told $%^& she was just like him?

While playing Carver mentioned that Clem's just like him and she just didn't realize it yet. Could Carver be foreshadowing that Clem will do something that will make her regret it? That trophy A heavy burden for episode 4 worries me. This brings up questions like:

When Clem and the group find Sarah will Clem have to put her down due to weakness? A heavy Burden trophy.

Will Clem end up having to kill Jane, Kenny, or Mike due to the type of character they are? Carver killed Reggie due to his weak character. Maybe Clem remember's what Carver told her and begins sorting out the weak people from the strong people in the group.

Will Clem end up following Jane and her plan to abandon those who are weak?

  • He meant that she'll be a leader like him
  • Maybe it will be a choice of whether you follow his path, or Lee's.
  • She is Strong and Smarter than all of them and just like Jane said she wont let them bring her down with them. Muahahaha CLEM SHALL PREVAIL.
  • yea Clem is a strong character in TWD. Well one of the strongest Walking Dead females leaders
  • Clementine would never kill Sarah unless she absolutely had to. If Sarah got bitten, or was dying a slow and painful death from a fatal bullet wound, Clementine would put Sarah out of her misery. But as long as I'm holding the controller, I will never let Clementine become someone who would murder another just because she thought they weren't tough enough.
  • To me it means Carver expects Clem to be just as ruthless as him.
  • "Muahahahahha" sounds funny.

  • Might because Carver have lost his parents to in his young age, and Clementine lost her when she was 8/9, and he know that if she wasn't so strong she would never survive so long.
  • Thanks im working on my Eviiiillll laugh.

  • Yeah. Character development or not, I just can't imagine Clem ever doing that after her whole 'We don't leave friends behind.' speech while opting for Ben to stay.

  • My Clementine will straight up murder you ass.
  • Not to mention Clementine saying that she will take care of Sarah on multiple occasions (depending on how you play her). Anyone with a heart had Clem promise to Carlos that she would take care of his daughter, and those same people more than likely had Clem say to Reggie that she would take care of Sarah. I'm rooting for Clem to take the reins for Carlos and look after Sarah for the rest of their lives. Their bond is already pretty priceless to me, if they carried on together for a long time then their relationship would reach Lee/Clem levels of feel.

  • Kenny will teach her how to grow one.

  • I agree, Clem is not a murderer but the fact that you can decide to watch Kenny bash Carver's face off is pretty damn hardore and it goes against what Lee taught Clem. I think when you stay, it means you are as ruthless as Carver and in a certain way, he managed to corrupt Clem. I don't know if the writers will push the thing, but I don't want my Clem to become a mini-Carver.

  • It's the "We're not so different afterall" trope. www.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NotSoDifferent except it was poorly executed because Carver was bipolar throughout the episode like this imgur.com/4kSUaDh.png

Every single villain, since the very dawn of times, has said this, or something like this. Carver probably meant that she was "strong", like him and unlike Reggie. He also probably meant that she'd end up reaching the same conclusions as him (erradicate weaknes and stuff). He's wrong, at least about my Clem.

I have a lot of criticisms of episode 3, but this one doesn't bother me. He slapped Clem when she challenged him in front of one of his people, Troy. In private, without the need to keep up appearances, he was impressed by the gigantic brass balls (metaphorically speaking) it took to say something like that to his face after all she's seen him do.

  • It's funny how Carver told Clem about who follows/leads, who's stong/weak is somewhat similar to what Pete said about playing a role that some may hate you for. There's a slight resemblance.

  • I think it means that she has what it takes to be a leader. To make unpopular decisions, sometimes cruel, all in the name of protecting people she cares about. Carver feels like she's seen horrors that have allowed her to become inhumane and hardened for people she cares about. This is the ONE reason I didn't let her watch Carver get beat up, to prove him wrong. My Clem does have her sense of humanity, and she won't cross all lines if it isn't necessary.
  • I doubt that, Season 2 is more about staying in a morally grey area. Choosing between "evil" and "good" now, wouldn't make alot of since. As a matter of fact, Season 2 reminds me of Spec Ops.

Maybe it will be a choice of whether you follow his path, or Lee's.
