Lee is not dead.

In the history of The Walking Dead, a person who you didn't see die, is probably not dead..

Tyreese (in the comic, and in the TV-show) did what Kenny did in the game; he lived because we never saw him die. That was pretty much exactly the same scene.

At the ending of Season 1, Clementine could either shoot or walk away from a dying Lee,
but we never saw Lee die either way. We never saw where or if the bullet ever hit him..

History tells that every character who got their arm, leg or whatever, shopped off after a zombie bite, is probably going to live. Not one single character in the comic, or the TV-show (atleast as far as I remember) died after they shopped off the infected body part.
Even if it was 1 hour after the bite happened.

If Sarita lives through the next episode in Season 2, Lee should also be alive if you shopped his arm off.
As a huge fan of The Walking Dead, I will never trust that Lee is not coming back, until I actually saw a flashback with Clementine and Lee, where Clementine actually kills/spares Lee.

I hope this like helps you. It might be awhile before you get another one with such "radical" thinking.
  • We'll see. If we had to cut lees arm off then we could see if sarita survives to see if lee survived but I decided to keep lees arm and have Clem shoot me in one of my playthrougha so it's a long shot
  • It'd seem like such an asspull tough, it would't feel right to do everything at the end then just retcon his death.
ALSO- Lee can get bitten again and not get a gameover near the end of the game when you go through the herd. How do you explain that?
  • TTG confirmed he died awhile back
  • has anyone else noticed that if you shoot lee, when the screen goes black you can hear him breath?
  • Actually, yes. But I thought that was an exhale?

  • Umm Alvin from the comics died after an amputation. though that was probably from blood loss.(like lee.) Also, He's confirmed dead. by like.... everyone. ever. in the universe.
  • Let's hope that he got lucky.
  • ya it was, but the thing is it sounded hesitant... if you can get what im saying here. he didn't just exhale all the air out, it was like he exhaled, and then exhaled slower and then faster and then slower.

  • I always thought that it was just him "exhaling" and his last breath leaving his body.

We never 'see' Lee die because after he dies, we have nobody's perspective to see him die from. He was that perspective, and now he's dead. Hence why the camera goes black the second he dies, before switching to Clem, our next protagonist, in the after credits sequence.

    Yeh feel me?
  • Dramatic effect.

OH YA! and he technically did die before she shot him. he lowers his head and his eyes close. so he died. AND THEN about 6 seconds later she shot him. 6 seconds is more than enough time for the body to exhale all of its air after death.

I had to re watch his death right now to point that out. And my gosh. just looking at clementine, how little she was. its hard to believe that the girl we play as now is the same person.

I'd love it to be true but then I feel like it would be one big hippie love fest where one-eyed Kenny and one-armed Lee join hands with Clementine and dance around in a circle making gleeful noises in some demented reunion ritual. It would probably scare the others, too.

I thought that was just because of the recoil from the gun being used by a small child. The possibility that Clem didn't shoot makes a lot of sense though.

He's dead. It was confirmed by the co-project leader of The Walking Dead Season One, Jake Rodkin, here:
