Who would you console?

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Here's a hypothetical scenario:

No matter what you do, Sarita is infected, but Kenny refuses to believe it because they cut the arm off (if you didn't cut the arm off then the group cuts it off anyways, but it's too late). The whole group is at the civil war site in hopes of Luke, Nick, and Sarah regrouping with them there. It becomes apparent that Sarita is dying of infection so Kenny (no longer in denial) says his goodbyes and puts her out of her misery. After the deed is done, Kenny sits down with his hat covering his eyes, grieving and full of anger. Before you get the chance to solace Kenny, you hear a rustling in the bushes. The group draws out there weapons to see who the perpetrator is, everyone besides Kenny. You see Sarah walk through the bushes, sulking about her dad and close behind her you see a shadowy figure holding a body. You finally discover who the figure is and who he's carrying. The shadowy figure is Luke and the body he is carrying is Nick's body which looked like he was shot in the head. The sun shines on Luke's face and you see tears running down his face. Luke takes two steps out of the bushes, falls down to his knees, and begins sobbing over Nick's body. Luke starts blaming himself and says that it should have been him instead of Nick. You look at Luke then at Kenny.

Who do you console and give emotional support to?

Kenny or Luke?

Kenny obviously...this decision was to simple!
  • NIIIIIICK, NOOOOOOOOOOO.
Man I teared up when you wrote Nick died.

Also you forgot to write Sarah.
  • Neither, they need to be men and act like them.
  • Im sure there sould be time to help them both.
  • DAMN! THIS IS LIKE! I.. I don't feel so good.

damn, i mean luke and nick have knows each other for over 20 yeas, nick said it him self.

Kenny hasten known sarita for maybe 3 years.

so i think i would go to luke.

    Great idea!

I wanna say Luke because I care more about him and Nick, but I still wanna be there for Kenny. Tough choice. About Sarah, meh, Rebecca can take care of her.
  • I think I'd be the one needing consoling after that.

  • I don't think that it would be unmanly to cry when your girlfriend or best friend of 20 years dies. Please, go rethink what your shite definition of being a "man" is.

  • I would console Sarah
  • XD your right!

I think I'd be the one needing consoling after that.

  • Depend's on how Nick died, If Nick died because Luke done/tried to do somthing that is too risky then No, If Nick went out by dying a heroic way then I would pick to console Luke over Kenny
  • Wait till timer runs out....
  • I would console Winston. "JESUS ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?"

ravensep What if their is no timer?
  • Kenny's been through this before. He wouldn't be as shaken up about it like he was with Kat and Duck. He wouldn't be broken, he'd just be sad. Now as for Nick and Luke? ... AW HELLZ NAH NEITHER OF DEM BE DYIN K?!
  • Did i say it was unmanly to cry? I love how people put words in my mouth , it is like i'm running for office without all the perks and just the shit.

I said i wouldn't need emotional support from a 11 year old girl and neither should they. I am "emotionally distant" than most people because of what i have lived through.

Better question, what if there's no TIME... to show this kind of emotional feel scene, there's only 90 minutes, quickly, Kenny, steal the show with your new eyepach! No room for drama and character development here.

Sorry, had to be an asshole.
  • Lol I love it because it's so true!

  • just because your emotionally distant doesn't mean everyone is like you lol

  • emotional support it helpful from anyone no matter what age. especially clementine, my siser is 16, and clementine is more mature than her.

  • Console the fuck out of Luke. I imagine it'd be worse to lose your best friend of 20 years than the girlfriend you got a year or so ago.
  • Sadly this is probably how episode 4 is gonna go. Sarita's death = even more character development and time in the spotlight for Kenny.

  • And then Eddie dies and then I just throw my PC out the fucking window and cry in a corner.

I think I'd be the one needing consoling after that.

  • Yeah, I'd be done. You win, Telltale. Congratulations.

  • Kenny for sure. If it were between Kenny and Sarah that'd be really difficult. Sarah's just a teen who's been alone and is traumatized after her dad's death but Kenny is my bro especially after this episode.
  • Kenny because Luke can get over it. Seriously? Hes crying? Wow Luke is such a baby.
  • It is the Zombie Apocalypse! There are no time for tears.

  • I'd cry if my best friend of 20 years died. Some people have even speculated that they are a couple which would be even more reason to cry.

  • Reeeeaaaally. I'm pretty sure Kenny cried when Katjaa and Duck died. What a baby, right? Losing someone you love is painful no matter what.

  • That's different. Katjaa was Kenny's wife and Duck was Kenny's son. Nick is just Luke's friend.

  • Actually out of the three, I'd pick Sarah. I love Kenny and Luke more than her, but she's had it the worst out of all of them. Losing ones own father is far worse than losing a girlfriend or a best friend. I think that's the option Clem would choose as well, as she's known the sheer degree of pain from losing a father (twice). Sarah is still a child who's lost her only security blanket, she would need the most consoling I think.

Although I don't want to undermine Kenny and Luke's pain, I would also take into account that: They're grown men who have experienced this before. Sarah has never been so closely affected by a death as now. The first death of a loved one is the most harrowing of them all. Although only Luke was mentioned to have this ability, I think both he and Kenny would have an easier time 'moving (on, forward)' from such an experience than Sarah.
  • Clementine isn't real your sister is. Trust me i have met my share of irresponsible eleven year old children.

emotional support it helpful from anyone no matter what age. especially clementine, my siser is 16, and clementine is more mature than her.

  • I get almost as many down votes as you get up votes. I am your Yang.

  • Not just a friend. His best friend of 20 years and probably the only person close to him left. Crying over his death would be more than justified.
