Character Development

How come in season two (and TWAU) their isn't any character bonding? In season one you're given an option of 3 choices (and [Exit] botton), So far in season two, there are only a couple sentences. I like season two, but ttg isnt the same v.v

  • 90 minute episode,and i don't think they're gonna change that
  • Sadly that does seem to be the case. I have seen a lot of posts and threads about the return of hubs and the desire for more opportunities to talk to the people we are with, but it doesn't seem to be happening, which I think is a shame. The game is great, but I do feel like I'm not as attached to the characters in this season as I was in season one.
  • Same here. The characters in season 1 I was attached to more. A lot more character developing went into them and you could relate to them more.

It can't be that hard to write a couple more lines for each character, just detailing their backstory or whatever, to just give us the option of asking Luke what he did at the very beginning of the apocalypse, or ask Nick what role he played at Carver's camp.

That is literally all we need to be satisfied. A couple more sentences of exposition with each character.

I feel like they went out of their way to add in the hub during the first night of Episode 3, where you had to look for somewhere to escape, because we got the option to talk to Rebecca about Alvin. We found out that they'd been having more arguments over time, and in that short moment I felt a bit more pity for Rebecca.

At the moment, it seems like these characters are husks of what they could be. TTG literally just has to write 3 sentences of exposition for each character, find a decent place for them to say them, and then I and a lot of other people would be satisfied.

What might also be a bit of a factor is that Clem seems to be doing a lot of stuff on her own.

Lee almost always had one or more partners when he went out to do stuff. Carley and Glenn, Kenny, Mark, Omid, Molly and Clem ofcourse.

Clementine gets send to do stuff on her own a lot of the time. Which doesn't really help with bonding with people.
  • the wolf among us has both Character bonding and Character Development

so don't throw that game under the bus just because you have problems with season 2
  • Rarely.

  • i think there's a difference in how TWAU and TWD's character intermix. in TWD, clem is meeting these people for the first time in episode 1, and going from there. in TWAU, there's a bit more flexibility and familiarity allowed since everybody knows who Bigby is, and his job doesn't really require him to get to know the people he meets on a very personal level. he can also handle himself, under most circumstances, so doesn't need people to have his back. i don't really think you can properly compare the treatment of the 2 and their character development.
