Larry, is one of the few men in the walking dead i respect. He was a total alpha male, and new how to charm the ladies. Hats off to this gentleman. We salute you Larry, and you will always remain in our hearts in memories. I would post a picture of Larry but for some reason as a IT Engineer that feature eludes me on this board.

Larry wasn't grumpy, in my opinion he was just emotionally distant to everyone but his daughter. He lost his wife sometime before the group met up, and that hardened him. That happens to people, it happened to me. Death changes the person you are, it happens to everyone. That is why i liked this character because i didn't get the two dimensional feel i got from most characters in this game so far.
While I was irritated with him most of the time, I could at least somewhat understand why he was so ill-tempered. Being stuck in the apocalypse will make anyone grumpy, and he seemed to have lightened up while at the dairy farm. If I remember correctly he flirted with Brenda St. John before shit hit the fan.
If you say to Mark that Larry is just looking out for his daughter, he won't get pissed with Lee and will be flabbergasted for a short few seconds. He also never told anyone that Lee was a convict. I was sure he would spill the beans about it to the group eventually, but he didn't.
Even though he was a grade-A asshole, he cared for his daughter Lilly, and I can respect that.
He wanted to kill a KID because he was covered in muck. I wonder what his reaction would be if Lilly was bitten, and there actually was proof hm? After all this shit, Kenny and Lee STILL saved his ass.
4 fuckings months of living with Lee and he still gave him attitude, right down to his last breath. When Lee warned them of the human meat, he of course didn't believe it. "It's always something with this guy." Like there would be any reason to lie.
And then when Lee turned out to be right, he blamed Lee for not being fast enough. Fucking dick.
And to the "Lee was a convicted murderer" bullshit, he was the same way to everyone else in the group, so fuck that.
Losing his wife doesn't excuse shit. Everybody had lost someone, yet you don't see them walking around behaving like complete douches like he did.
He was a cool enough character and good for the plot. But I certainly didn't like him nor does he deserve my respect. Fuck him.
Rant over.
I look at that situation as this, he is already emotionally crippled. He doesn't care about anybody but his daughter. Everyone else is expendable in his mind. I was always the assumption he was ex military too, he seems like a classic case of PTSD. He is not capable of making emotional connections, because he is so damaged, when your like that it affects the way you see the world.
i really liked Larry, because Larry made the dialogue believable .For me ,Meeting him in the drug store was the first time that a video game argument felt like a real argument .
.Every conversation with him is intense .The more intense the conversation, the more exciting it is.
Point is that all these people have lost loved ones, and even non millitary people would likely get PTSD from living in a world like this. I just don't see this as an excuse for anything. I'm aware that he's not an evil man, but neither is he a very good one.
I simply don't see how he's deserving of respect at all.
If Larry had never died in the meat locker, I imagine the season would've been a lot different.
