Selective Memory? Luke
Okay, I was watching many Lets Plays of season two, and I noticed Luke only remembers SOME things. So I tried to list them:
1. 'I Killed Him' option while talking about Lee in 201.
2. 'I ran away. He died trying to get me back' option in the same scene in 201.
He doesn't '(?) Luke will remember this' for the other options in that conversation about what happened to Lee.
3. He will remember if you choose the 'I can't speak for everyone' option when asked to vouch for the cabin folks.
4. He doesn't remember if you sit with Kenny, but Kenny will remember if you sit with Luke.
5. In 203, if you say 'I'm glad to see you' just after Luke nabs you, he remembers that (and not the awesome Clem hug, don't be like dat Luke ;_;)
6. In the same scene, if you say 'I'll get you one' when he asks you to steal the radios, he remembers that.
I just found it really cool how he doesn't remember other dialogue options, only the above will generate the (?) Luke will remember this. Is it like this with Luke alone, or is there others?
P.S. Sorry if I missed bits, these were the ones I remembered and wrote down XD

Yeah, those memories were spread out all over the concrete.
So it does seem like selective memory, maybe to the things that are going to play a key part at some point. Like for example Kenny remembering Clementine if she went to sit at Luke's table and not his after having not seen each other for years, the same again if you chose to say if you trust Kenny or not in the beginning of Episode 3. We saw how options in Season 1 all came together in the scene with the stranger where he picked at all Lee had done. Something like this could happen again in episode 5, where every decision just comes back and is mentioned in one big 'dun dun duuun' scene.
But Luke's remember thingys seemed to be focused on trust, Clem's humanity, and on terms of how close Clem is to their group and him.
I would love if the Pizza and Ice Cream decision would be made for you. I want it to be something like the 104 group, ie Luke won't come with you if you displayed distrust to him all this time, you know, something like that!
Trust and family, that's the thing I'm getting with all this. Kenny does care about Clem and I don't think it's just 'replacing Duck' but the parential instinct that led even Lee to look out for Clem as a daughter. Luke meanwhile has more of the big brother thing going with him, so I think it's possible that's where it could wind up heading where Clem builds family bonds with the both of them and it's left up to player to make tough choices on whether who to side with or who to go with if the group splits; but also like you said with the 104 group thing you get at the end of episode 4 in season 1, where the character will remember certain decisions made.
And I don't know, I don't think I can agree XD I feel like I would want to make that choice because I care about both Kenny and Luke and to be powerless at a moment like 'who do you side with?' would make it even worse, for me anyway lol.
I can't believe I never thought about that :D
It seems he's judging Clem whether she's a Lizzie in the making , or something. He always remembers when Clem says something harsh.
Like "just shoot him" and stuff.
I feel like we've been building up to this decision with do you trust Kenny or do you trust Luke's escape plan in 203.. I will DIE if we have to choose. The thing that kinda comforts me is that if they went THAT extreme with Kenny/Luke i.e. one lives other dies depending on you, is that they'd have to make two seperate season threes depending on who you went with. They already have so many issues with determinates, imagine THAT!
I guess he remembers it in Heaven, right?
I think it's more likely if they do the pick pizza or ice cream, it'll be something like the end of Episode 4 in season 1, where the effects only last for so long before the decision reconnects with the main story [same as how if you went to Nick or Pete].
I sure hope you're right!! I can't think of how they could make that work, but I would RIOT if one of them died!!!
