Am I the only one thinking that CarLee needed a love story arc?

Poor Carley was killed to early to give a shock value:/ I wish she was still alive.

  • To be honest, I think one of the main reasons they killed off Carley was because they didn't want to put a serious romantic relationship in the game. I mean they don't really show anything sexual at all.
  • Carley's is the only death I flat-out disliked. Because there's all this other crap going on at the same time, Lilly leaving the group, Duck being bitten, the obsession with the train, Katjaa's suicide, Chuck's introduction, the revelation that Ben was the traitor, Christa, Omid, training Clem to defend herself... damn, episode 3 had way too much crammed into it. But yeah, since all that is going on in the same episode, a lot of it within minutes of Carley's death, there's no time for Carley's death to really sink in. The characters barely even mourn her. A disappointing end to one of my favourite characters.
  • Well, unfortunately not everyone can live.

    ;(
  • To be fair Lee said himself that the ZA isn't the time for romance but he was fond of her, there was never going to be a love story between Carly and Lee.
  • It was because they thought of the basic plot first then added little details iirc. So they had Carley die originally then added the romance plot to make people more attached to Carley.

I like how pathetically she dies though.
    Talk smack, get shot.
Doug had the better death since he at least died saving someone.

I'm pretty sure the first time I paused and replayed a chapter, was when Carley died.

I still think Carley/Doug deserved a better death so to speak...oh well. And I do not think you are the only one who shipped Carley and Lee, not at all. I remember I used to lurk the forums back in S1 and some people even made threads about bringing Carley/Doug back. I guess Telltale achieved what they wanted regarding their deaths.

I wouldn't mind it if they expanded on their relationship a bit more but a full-blown love story between Carley and Lee would feel out of place imo.
  • It's the ZA. I shipped them too. But that's the harsh reality of that world. Shit happens before arcs can be made. It's realistic

Not really. A wise man once said it isn't a good story if the waifu doesn't die.

The same man was also quoted saying it's not a good story if a giant robot doesn't fight a giant dinosaur, but we give TWD a pass on that.
  • Hey, there's still time for that happen.

  • True, still got two episodes. I hope Telltale doesn't disappoint.

  • Carlee had the hots for Doug, but Telltale killed him. So that was that for romance in the ZA.
  • Carley dying certainly shocked me. Especially when she died seconds after seeing "Carley will remember this" in the top left hand corner of my TV.
  • And a possible 3rd season.

True, still got two episodes. I hope Telltale doesn't disappoint.
