I don't think anyone likes him as a person, but they love him as a character. Just imagine the conflicts and dynamics he could create if he appeared in Season 2.
but if he ever tries to make a 'wired' move on clementine, im killing him.
lol, clementine is so mature and all, I bet if they were to meet he would make some immature joke, and clem just stares at him with a " Dafaq, how old you think I am " face.
We know he is degrading to women however we don't know if he is degrading to children or young girls. Also Kenny was somewhat degrading to Lee (urban lockpick moment) but we still like him and treat it as a funny moment.
Also a "defenseless old couple" - Yes a "defensless old couple" who shot and nearly killed both him and Russell. He also treated Russell nicely, even if Russell stayed with him he says he'd take care of Russell.
The old people had it coming it is the Zombie Apocalypse, supplies are finite and sparse. If old people have to die that started a fight so be it. Times are tough for all of us! ^_^.
XD oh come on, there's no harm in talking about a woman's cleavage, like there's no harm in talking about a guy's butt. Just don't go hurting anybody or shooting old couples and no stones will be dumped on your head.
As a person i like Nate because he reminds me of myself if i was in the ZA. I wouldn't go that far calling him those names, in my mind he was just trying to have some fun with Russel at his expense. I think Nate is just lonely and doesn't know how to socialize with people correctly. Sure there is the crazy side of him , but we all a little crazy ^_^
As a person, I don't like Nate. He's slimy, misogynistic garbage, and toyed around with Russell in a fashion similar to a cat with a mouse. … moreex. saying he's going to cover Russell but then leaving him open, willfully putting him in danger, and purposefully saying things to make him feel uncomfortable. "You gonna work for it? A man's got needs, you know." and "Wanna sit on my lap?" You don't say stuff like that to strangers.
But, with that said, I like Nate as a character. What's a good story without a good villain? Nate makes for an amazingly entertaining antagonist. He's a complete wildcard. I would be interested in seeing what role he plays and how he would interact with the S2 characters. Though I would never trust him with Clementine or anyone else in the group.
I don't know if anybody else noticed this, but Nate's quote "So, should just we kill these folks and take all their stuff?" is a throwback to Russell's story about his ol… [view original content]
What makes you think he would turn bad, he may be bad to other people but i think if he likes that person he will treat them well. I mean look at what he did for his friend who was shot by Eddie. I like this quote the best.
"Women? Ha, okay. Let me see if I can answer your question. Because... because the hunger a man's got for a woman, is all we got left now. No laws, no jobs, ain't nothing that make us men. But they ain't eaten all the women yet."
LOL I love that quote! If you choose the silent options he say's a few funny things too, if you don't give him an answer he say's something like. "I only asked for your name Russell not who the fucking king of Norway was, but I may be being presumptious".

Russell's story is my absolute favorite and I thought Nate was a great villain. It was frightening and entertaining and all played out really well, like something out of a Quentin Tarantino film. But regardless of how well he's written, Nate's still a huge disgusting creep and if he returns I hope Jane shoots him in the dick, too.
I love that man, i think Nate and Clem would make a awesome team. I think he would enjoy having a little sidekick Clem. Here is what i don't get. Everyone hates on Nate, but Kenny gets a free pass.
I don't hate either characters, they're both nuts in their own way, and to me that makes them more interesting than all the rest of them. Kenny gets to bash a guys face in with a Salt lick/crowbar, but Nate shoots two racist old people and he is the new Hitler. Jeez

It's the way he say's things too. XD
I like Nate, he is a badass, he has style, he seems like the kind of person that you can trust and the proof is he didn't kill Russell if he tries to shoot him, yeah he is a lil bit crazy but he is awesome.

I hope not, he would be the perfect Antihero character. I hope he has a bigger role in it than just a villain thrown in at the last second. He deserves better than that.
As much as I want Nate to return I will be worried that he will only last one episode and get killed off, most likely if he is a bad guy. :(
Btw if he does comeback I can see his entrance being somewhat special, it would be dramatic I'm sure.

He has some entertaining interactions with Russell, but his quick willingness to murder the elderly couple (at the point he shoots them, he's already taken their gun away, so it is murder, regardless of how justified it is), right after he was vague about his intentions to Russell. Earlier, he neglects to cover Russell as he runs to the truck, but soon after yanks him behind the semi-truck.
For me, it was his duality that I liked as a character; gave him a memorable personality. That, and I think he gets more characterization than any other NPC in 400 Days (with possible exceptions in Leland and Becca).
Oh don't be like that, I'm sure we could be Super Friends ^_^ ,
I am one of the easiest people to get along with, especially when i had a few drinks in me which would be happening quite often in the ZA.
Nate is an incredibly complex character. There are instances where you understand his thought process, and others where you wonder if he's even present in his own mind at all. All we really know about him is that Eddie shot his friend, and he chased them down to get revenge. A reaction I can completely understand. Enter Russell, and you would never know that he'd lost anyone, he puts up a very good front of the classic misogynistic pig, but I am of the few that believe that's a coping mechanism he uses to deal with, well, everything really. Nate saves Russell, and you think he's a good guy until you meet the couple in the diner. He looks absolutely nuts, the Nate we saw before is gone, and he genuinely wants to kill the couple. And we don't know why, or what caused this sudden shift to blood lust. No, he's not the nicest character, nor is he particularly a good guy, but there's just something about him that is pulling me in, I, for one, find him extremely interesting and want to learn more.
For all you Nate fans and fanfic readers, I highly recommend "The Walking Dead: Real Monsters" by Visambros, it's an amazing pre 400 days Nate-centric fic, and it is so well written and original, I can honestly say I've never read anything like it. You can read it on fanfiction.net. I've already accepted the story's content as head canon, to me it is one of the best walking dead game fanfics out there.

That's not an excuse for Nate's behavior. Russell's not his drinking buddy, they're complete strangers to each other. I think his issue is more than just loneliness or social ineptitude. Russell could be his replacement goldfish, sure, but again, it's no excuse.
I like Nate, but I don't try to justify his actions or romanticize him. Nate is, objectively, a misogynist. And while some people may disagree, I think he's a total creep. I don't believe he's a sociopath like some people have theorized, but he's got an issue for sure.
