Jane

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Multiple newly introduced characters were given to us in Episode 3 of the second season. Out of them all, Jane would have to be the most interesting and, without a doubt, the most important character in the whole season besides Clementine herself. She's a true hero that they deserves, but not the one they need, who sleeps and glare, but come out with a much better plan for the good of the group. Without her, they're all just gonna shoot their way out, which will be an epic fail, and that just wouldn't feel right. Jane convinced clem to sneak in to steal the walkie talkie which she succeeded was a sign that Jane will be there for Clementine to teach her new stuff to survive, and Jane is our hope for a better and stronger group future.Jane is crucial for clem's survival, she reminds her to not let her emotion cloud her judgments,as clementine is the wolf among the sheep,we shall make clem take the more dominant role for the sake of the group

  • Jane shall indeed teach Clem how to survive.
  • Jane is a female Daryl Dixon dude, she will survive !
  • "true hero?" Uhh, sorry. I'm not trusting her until I know her motivations. Too many bad things have happened to Clementine for her to automatically latch on to a new adult figure... Unless Jane does something REALLY drastic in E4.

She's super cool, I agree. She knows how to fight and fight dirty, and is aware of what it takes to get through the apocalypse. She is charismatic, interesting to interact with, and sees the true hero behind Clementine.

But you know who else had all these attributes? Carver.
  • Good job on kicking the Batman reference in there. XP

  • Good point. I guess I just trust Clementine more because I know her motivations and backstory. TBH, Jane is one of the characters I want explored the most at this point. She's impressively competent... Like Molly.

  • lol Jane's a psycho who wants to teach Clementine to shoot people in their dicks, smell bad all the time and never date.
  • I don't see TT killing off Jane. She will just walk away from the group like Molly did.
  • never date? then what's with all the "deal" with troy? and if it's to prevent clem or her friends from being harmed, then it was a useful manipulative action, she's a cunning girl who thinks stuff trough, unlike the hot headed kenny or lilly

  • She was going to exchange BJs for walkabout privileges.

It's not dating until you stop aiming guns at each other and give each other footrubs.

  • we can not come together and protect jane, this is tell tale, they can do what ever they want, when ever they want. there not going to not kill someone just because we like them.

  • A true hero?

Dude, she shot guy's balls off, not very heroic.
  • it's for the good of the whole group, how do you think they should dispatch troy? even luke wasn't fast enough to grab the rifle, troy was a dick enough to deserve that, and you can't be the "white knight" type of hero in the walking dead, that stuff will only lead to disaster

  • Troy had a crossbow and an accent and he's a dickless walker now.

Rule 1: Don't NEVER shoot ANYONE in the balls.
I can't even imagine how painful it is.

I once got kicked in the nuts, and it felt like I was gonna die to the pain.

Anyway, my point is that she could've just shot him in the head.

Also, why she tolds clementine to get pass the walker in episode 4 trailer? If she is a "true hero", why won't she do it by herself?

that is risky as hell, and as mike said "they're not the sharpest guard, but they're not idiots either" troy could've gut shot jane before she pull the trigger the safe bet was to shoot him in the balls, paralyzing him to prevent him from doing any dangerous action to the group. Also she's not telling her to get pass the walkers, she was asking her what kind of aproach clem will choose to deal with the walkers,as clem is capable to make her own decision,I think we're gonna do the action like in the motel again

  • Clem doesn't need Jane to teach her anything. Lee already did that. Take the walker guts as an example.
  • After she shot troy's penis off, it made me cringe. I would trust a walker over her any day. So nope, i hope she dies or leaves because i want nothing to do with her.
  • well, maybe there's a new stuff that clem can learn only from her, based on the episode 4 achievment

  • come on,give her a chance, lot of people used to hate rebecca, carlos,or bonnie.but eventually they all like them, let's just see how episode 4 turned out for her

  • She shot him so that he could draw the walkers away from them. If she outright killed him, the walkers would have attacked her and the rest of the group instead of going after Troy. By shooting him in the crotch, she was guaranteed that he wouldn't shoot back afterwards.

  • Jane is just an edgy loner women who lost everything and then became distrusting towards everything but herself.
Clementine is just an extension of herself in Jane's opinion, she is a test on whether her ideals are actually good for survival.
  • Or she shoots him in the guts, that will also be sufficient to stop Troy.

Clearly he did not teach her EVERYTHING she needed to survive.

  • Sorry but, I don't trust characters or people that feel the need to employ genital mutilation. And, after a wild ride the first couple episodes were, I almost don't even want to play anymore after that shit. Quite frankly, that's what ended my joyride with the comics as well. Kind of getting tired of how cutting/shooting dicks off and rape suddenly seem to be just fine in games, books, movies, comics, and tv shows. There are much better ways to tell stories.
