How long was Lee unconscious for?

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
Right at the beginning, in the police car, Lee must've been out for a while. Clementine had been surviving in her treehouse for days, and there were loads of walkers in the forest near the car. How long do you think he was out? I'd say about 5 or 6 days, but I'm not sure.

And if you're wondering why I'm asking a question about something that early into the game, it's because I'm replaying season 1. :)

  • idk but my guess in a few hours?
  • I would guess 2-3 days
  • I'd say a bit more than a few hours. Otherwise Clementine wouldn't really have been surviving for days, like she said. Unless she's...lying.

  • I don't believe he was unconscious longer than a few hours, but I think the outskirts of the cities got hit first, resulting in Clementine hiding in her tree house. There is also evidence that the infection had already started within the city as well, due to all the riot control vans, patrol cars and police helicopters.

It can't be 5-6 days. Lee meets Clementine and she says "I heard Sandra scream two nights ago" (The outbreak probably started in her neighborhood and it would take awhile for the zombies to multiply. Which is why Lee didn't know about them until the 3rd day when he met Clem.)

Besides do you really think that the cop just sat there for 5-6 days and not get help until he died.

I would say he was out for about 1-2 hours

You guys probably can't take me serious based off the profile picture xD

I'm gonna say 2 days, based off of the wiki...
  • I believe the apocalypse had already started before Lee was knocked unconscious, but it just wasn't really widespread, and the police or whatever was keeping it a secret from the public.

He was out one day. You can see it transition to night and he wakes up the next day.

Plus all throughout episode 1 characters say how the dead have been risen for 3 to 4 days.

Lee being passed out for a week is ridiculous, surely he would have woken up or gotten eaten in that time. Plus the police officer would have turned way before then.
  • Day one the first zombies came back to life, day two there are reports that aggressive druggies are attacking random people at the street, day three the government realizes the problem and dispatches swat teams and so on. I guess that Clementine's babysitter got attacked on day 2 and Clementine hid in her treehouse until day 4.
  • Probably just a few hours.
  • Pretty spot on but I would bet that Sandra died on the first day of the outbreak. Didn't seem like Clem had been holding up with anybody else.

  • Lee couldn't have been out for more than a few hours. He likely left the jail in the morning heading to the prison he was being taken to when they got into the accident. He then woke up that afternoon.

Lee could not have been out for more than 1-2 days because he would have died from dehydration first and the police officer would have come back by then (and likely eaten Lee or would be trying). Clem couldn't have been up in her treehouse for that long, either, for the same reason unless she had some kind of food and water up there. You'll die from dehydration faster than from starvation. Water's the most important thing. Neither Clem nor Lee are showing signs of dehydration or mention being thirsty, so Lee couldn't have been out that long and Clem at least had a bottle of liquid in her treehouse as she hid out. But my bet is, Clem's babysitter was bitten the night before and came back the next morning roughly at the time Lee got into the accident. While Clem was hiding out in the treehouse, Lee was unconscious. Then when Lee showed up, she came down. So she was only in the treehouse for a few hours, too. At worst, add in a day of idly sitting in the treehouse for Clem, although starvation and thirst would have eventually drawn her out and into the house. The heat alone would have caused her to dehydrate more and would have drawn her out faster. She was also wearing a long sleeve shirt which would have made her sweat more and lose more fluids. Then there's the insects that probably would have been biting her making it even worse. She couldn't have been out there that long and I very much doubt she was out there overnight. The insects would have eaten her alive.
  • Few hours probably.

On day 0 it started just weird stories here and there some folks started getting infected some odd new "rabies"

On day one, where game started, people started to panic and then infection started to spread thx to mass suicides and looters killing each others etc.
  • I think 2 days.
  • It's really unclear isn't it? Clementine says she's been in the treehouse for days, but yet the officer still hadn't reanimated. A few hours would be realistic to believe.
  • I'd guess a few hours

Pretty sure it was at least 24 hours. The fact many towns are abandoned and walkers seem to have populated around the entire world seems to support this too. Especially when the world was still pretty much normal getting into the game.
  • About three days in.that girl Sandra didn't even survive a week
  • I guess it already was 2-3 Days in, but the government didn't realize the danger in time and did nothing about it, or wanted to keep it a secret as long as possible to avoid mass panics. Then, when shit REALLY hit the fan in the capitals, they were forced to react, but it was already too late.
So, when Lee is leaving with the car, I guess there had been mentions of unusual behaviour and stuff on the news, but the capitals were save for some days. The first really big attack probably happened minutes after Lee left Atlanta, with all the armed force closing in, but failing.

The outskirts could have been hit earlier.

Another thing. Hershel isn't TOO surprised or unbelievably happy when Shawn returns. That's because Shawn hadn't been gone for too long.

Probably went in the capital on Day 1-2 and came back a day later.
  • I always assumed it was at least a day since it turned to night time and then was around sunset when Lee woke up again.

On a semi-related note, was anyone else bothered that the walkers are already completely decomposed right after the outbreak started? O.o
  • Sarah? I think you mean Sandra. LOL, I can see it happening, Sarah is officially Clementine's babysitter.

  • I don't think 5-6 days.. I thought maybe a day or two.
  • He went into hibernation and woke up months later. legit theory
  • Yes and that would explain how the army got overrun i'd say
