Question About Save Files

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
If I were to play the disc-based version of the game on Xbox 360, does it share the same save files as my downloaded version?

Someone offered me a used copy of the game they didn't want anymore. I don't want to bother taking it if it doesn't share the same saves I already have, and I can't find that info anywhere to get an answer! It would sure free up a lot of hard-drive space to go with the disc instead of the downloads, which is why I want to know.

  • Why would you want it anyways? You already have the game....
  • It would be the same game i would think.

Does anyone know for sure though? I'm really surprised this info isn't anywhere. And there is precedent for new editions of games NOT being the same....Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY edition used separate save files and achievements than the original version, for example.

I would want it (as I say in my first post) because it would free up a bunch of hard drive space if I could delete the downloads yet use my save files with the disc version.

Season One with 400 Days takes up multiple gigs, which is no small thing given that the Xbox only has about 320GB max and I am near full.

  • How would that answer the question? To reiterate, the save file is on the 360, I'm asking about the disc version and how that interacts with save files from the download version, if at all.

  • Couldn't find an answer there either. Seems like the sort of thing that would be stickied someplace or in a FAQ, but for the life of me I cannot find an answer to this.

  • PLEASE if anyone knows the answer to this, help me out! I imagine there has to be at least a couple of you that can answer it from firsthand knowledge.
  • Yes it will still work its the same game bro with the same coding.
  • Thanks for confirming this. You never know sometimes....the disc game and the downloaded game being different would not be the first time that sort of thing has happened on Xbox.
