What were Christa/Omid doing?

During EP#5 in Season 1, both her and Omid were supposed to be looking out for Lee and Kenny yet never said or did anything to alert them.

Plus if they were keeping an eye out, wouldn't they have seen Kenny escape the alley?

And I'm sure that Christa would have mentioned something like that to Lee if that was the case. Right?

I think it might have been talked about before but I just wanted to bring it up.

    That's what I have always been wondering, and it still bothers me to this day. I don't know how they didn't see what happened to Kenny when Christa was clearly looking below the alley. When she ran up to Lee and asked "What happened?", I was like "WEREN'T YOU JUST FUCKING LOOKING DOWN THERE!?".

    They were getting out of the city and heading for the country side. That explains the secrete ending. They also could have been tracked by Winston's group that's why they knew she was lying when they asked where her group was. They sent Michelle to scout for them.
