  • Here's a few pieces from the adventure-puzzler Fez, a brilliantly colourful game with an equally vibrant soundtrack. Perhaps not for everyone, however I find them pretty uplifting.

  • Didn't the developer of this game blow a gasket and cancel the sequel?

Yeah, more or less. Shame too as Fez is great.

  • I heard that the dev is coming back though. Phil Fish, isn't it?

  • Well I first heard about Phil fish when a youtuber (AngryJoeShow) put up a video of the top ten gaming controversies of 2013. Number 9 was Phil Fish lashing out over Twitter and running away from the industry. I can understand the stress he went through, so I think he was under so much pressure to get his game made that it was too much. But when I looked into it, I saw an article a few months ago that showed him tweeting "I'm back!". I'll put the link to the vid in the description.

  • I love the soundtrack to The Walking Dead games (both seasons), The Last of Us, Silent Hill, Heavy Rain and LA Noire.

  • Yeah, he seemed to get backlash a lot; I guess he was too opinionated for people and, as Joe says, put too much of himself into the game. I had a look about him tweeting he was coming back, and it looks like it was an April Fools joke. You never know, though.

  • I need to ask, what is the proper embedding code for the Youtube players, Noir? Recently I've tried copying the link from a Youtube video, the url just shows of course, without the player, and when I copy and paste the embed code, same thing happens. Noir, or anyone else, any tips?

Good question, Dragon! It took me quite a few attempts to figure this one out too.

When you've got the link copied there are two options to put into the reply box: the first is pasting the link; the second is typing out a title, or any words, that you want to relate to the video, such as the Fez ones I did above and the GTA one I will do at the end of this, to make sure that what I'm telling you is correct.

Once you have your pasted link or words, highlight them, and click on the 'Link' button at the top of the reply box, the one that looks like the world. A box should come up - I doubt that it's particularly browser specific - telling you to pop the URL into it.

After hitting Ok your link or title in the reply box should have [these] around it, followed by the URL in brackets.

Presuming that there's a video below, all of the above is correct :D hope it helps.

    No Happy Endings

  • Do you know who sings the Kingdom Hearts piece? They sound familiar from other games.

That Battleblock Theater song is pretty funny :L I've heard a lot of good things about that game.

  • A quick search tells me I haven't heard her before, however she does have a charming voice.

Same search also informed me that she got married a few days back. Ahh, the wonders of the modern age :P and yes, she is :)

I'm quite sure I'd get further in life if I were Italian.

but in all seriousness AN ITALIAN BARTENDER?!

She would love me I'm a sexy pig who's related to Colin and his brothers!

Instead she picks some Italian who prob knows Mario FUCK HIM!

  • Ooh, I started playing Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater the other day. I don't recall that having a song, though I enjoyed the intro.

You know, this reminds me of the James Bond films and those songs, which is a good thing.

Well honestly the only memorable song from MGS 3 is the intro song

If anything MGS 3 is my favorite game when it comes to everything else (Gameplay, story, etc)

EDIT: I also loved MGS 4 because it was the end of SOLID snake's story!

  • Haha I'm glad it amused :P

Perhaps she's not aware of Colin, because if she was, who could resist his lovable charm? Concluding that from your relation to him you have a similar allure, I'm sure she'd love you :) aside from the marriage thing.

  • At least it starts on a high, then.

Is MGS 3 the start of Snake's story? I'm playing it on 360 and I know that MGS 2 and prior games were set in the 2000s, and that MGS 3 is set in the 1960s, however is there a game set before MGS 3's storyline?

MGS 4 does look pretty sweet.

  • It's very complicated

MGS 3 is a prequel story. In MGS 3 and Peace Walker and MGS 5 you play as Naked snake later named something else but I won't spoil the fun :D

In MGS 1, 2, 4 you play as Solid Snake. Solid is Naked's clone but any way Solid is trying to stop his asshole brother Liquid snake

Here's a timeline of when the games take place:

  • This is most useful, thank you :)

There's a few other names bounding around my head and I've read bits of information on what happens when, however it's tricky when trying to avoid spoilers.
I guess The Phantom Pain and any games that follow from it will fit into the first Metal Gear, right?

I mean Final Fantasy has like 50 games and only like fucking 5 of them are actually good lol. Cough Final fantasy 7 Cough

  • If the quality is kept up then why not?

I've never played a Final Fantasy game - isn't 7 the one people keep asking for a remake to? Also, was it XIV that was announced at E3 last year?

  • Many people consider Final Fantasy 7 to be the best in the game series which it kinda is IMO.

And yes they announced FF 14/15 versus/ *Insert confusing ass name here^

And back to MGS I played MGS Phantom Pain and it's by far the WEAKEST entry in the franchise. I'm scared for MGS 5 now

  • Think it ever will get remade? Perhaps there will be more details of the new one at E3 and it might be a pick up for the franchise.

I plan on playing that MGS, though the general opinion of it seems to be one similar to your own. Some reviewers said that it felt like a level out of a full game, and that if it were part of something much larger it would be acceptable, yet by itself it does appear something of a glorified tech demo / teaser for the next game. What is your critique of it?

  • Well my opinion on Phantom Pain is a VERY negative one: sorry about the length

    Ok let me start:

First off they replaced the iconic voice actor for Naked/Solid Snake. the Original VA was an awesome dude named David Hayter (which you've now heard him in MGS 3) but then he got replaced with Keifer Sutherland. if you don't know who he is he is a very mediocre actor for this very bland show called 24 and he sucked the awesomeness of naked snake all out when he decided to be the VA. He sounds INCREDIBLY bland and bored where he made ME bored which isn't a good thing lol.

Second there's the gameplay. Now it's incredibly easy and pretty much a copy and paste of Splinter Cell. The AI was kinda improved but that's not a surprise lol.

Third there's the graphics. If there's one thing this game got right it was the visuals. They look AMAZING! EVEN on last gen consoles.

Fourth there's the length. This game is so DAMN SHORT! I AM NOT SHITTING YOU THERE IS A PLAYTHROUGH ON YOUTUBE WHERE THE GUY BEAT IT IN 10 DAMN MINUTES!......Nuff said

Fifth there's the story. MGS was always known for it's awesome and crazy story along with it's awesome boss battles. Both of those are almost non existent in this game. No boss battles and a VERY lackluster story trying to lead to MGS 5.

Last but not least: The soundtrack. There is NO song or songs on this game I remember the only good parts of the soundtrack were the songs from previous GAMES! Nuff said...

Well I am not very fond of this game XD
