This is just horrible, jesus christ. The only decent one is the first one and it isn't even that special. The one about hope made me cringe and the negan one makes me ask what the fuck was kirkman thinking when making negan make a full 180.
Show a 6/10 (though I haven't seen anything past Andrea's death, so maybe it's gotten even worse since? does anyone know?), comic a 7.5/10 (its okay, sometimes the writing is a little lackluster but otherwise its fine), and the game an 8.5 or 9 / 10. There are some things in the game that definitely prevent it from getting a full 10/10. I still personally like it better than the comic though, or the show.
However, that's just my personal opinion and of course many people might think differently.
By true to the comics i mean in spirit. Off course they're not going to follow the comic a hundred percent, it's more interesting to see a different take on Robert Kirkman's universe. One good example is how they developed Shane's character in the show compared to its comic counterpart. Also, i never said that the show was bad. The writing in it just suffered because of the different change in writers all the time. It simply shows, which isn't a good thing to be quite honest. It makes certain parts feel inconsistent in overall quality. Alhough the show seems to be in good hands now. We'll see.
I laugh everytime I see someone say season one is true to comic. The only episode that followed the comic was the first one and the second o… morene borrowed one element from it. The rest of the very short season went on its own tangent. The show, since season 3 on, has been following the comic more than it ever has been. Frank Darabont created the show and Im grateful to him for that, but IMO, its only gotten better since he left.

I have to admit that his swearing is one of the things I hate most about him. It's just annoying. I've got no problem with swearing itself, … morebut Negan is what would happen if every swear word in the English language decided to wear someone's skin and masquerade as a human being.
The first half of Season 4 is good shit, the whole Governor arc continues and ends in the first half, and it ends with a bang. The second half is more character driven and slower, but I feel that it lacked quite a bit.
Eh, I'd rate things a little differently.

I have no idea how good the comics are, but my brother loves them and ranks them at an even higher level than the game. We can both agree that the show is the bottom of the barrel, though. Of course, I stand firm in my belief that the game's on top of the Walking Dead spectrum.
I love everything walking dead, everyone has their shot that they like and that's okay. negative comments are from first reaction of people not liking shit we like. some of you don't like the comic ok good for you, its okay. we have different taste. lets just say I like everything, comics (I think they are great) love the show (I have my problems with it it has some big flags, but I think that's cuz breaking bad just ruined every show in this world for me), and I absolutely LOVE the game ( I see some of the problems people say but I quite frankly don't see them as bad, maybe just the playing time)
This is just horrible, jesus christ. The only decent one is the first one and it isn't even that special. The one about hope made me cringe and the negan one makes me ask what the fuck was kirkman thinking when making negan make a full 180.
Sorry if I spoiled you there, it just looks like everyone know and talk about it fluently without putting a spoiler tag, it isn't that bad anyway but I put a spoiler tag now.

I agree. I could care less what any body thinks. I love the show. I used to love the comics. But the game is far my favorite. I now like Survival Instinct more than the comic. (JK) The comic book for me, lost it's charm after the Hunters. I stopped reading after that volume.
Now i just look at the wiki every time a issue is released. I was gonna start reading again, but forgot.
No, I didn't say he made it bad on purpose, I said he took the comics into one direction and wrote his take on the world, and on the TV show he and a bunch of more writers expanded the uncharted stories, the ones that weren't developed much and also tried new approaches and characters like Daryl, I'm in no way saying it was on purpose, I'm saying he did something on the comics, and something different in the show.
Rick from the TV show had more realistic development yeah, but I think it's because Robert learned from his mistakes in the comics and improved his work while keeping the same atmosphere of the comics, some of that worked (season 1 and 4 to me), and some went terribly wrong due to amc's love of money (season 2).
About Charlie, personally I think he's the best artist I've ever seen in this industry, it's an opinion anyway but to me it looks like the majority loves the artwork, plus the new inker in All Out War added a lot and really improved the looks of it.
All the scenes you're talking about were very emotional and also well written, but I'm not only talking about emotion, I'm talking about the writing, I'm talking about how each and every one of us couldn't even come close to write a long speech or a good one-sentenced take on the world like he does, if you can though please call me out for being a hypocrite, but I'm pretty sure no one can.
Rick's speech has Robert's elements in it, just look at the name of the episode, even most remembered sentence from that speech is Robert's: "We're not too far gone" - does it ring any bells?
I guess Negan is a little over dramatic but for a mentally ill person he's not that unrealistic, Robert stated that the writing of Negan matches to someone who has the "God Complex" (The name is self-explanatory) and the Bipolar disorder which explains why he has so many mood swings and can become from a charismatic and nice joker to a cussing psychopath.
He may not be as realistic, but I enjoy him more and the best thing about him is that he is REALLY unexpectable.
Half of what you said is that Robert Kirkman made it bad... on purpose? I'm not taking that as a legitimate point.
And for fair compariso… moren of the TV Show vs. Comics, I think we've got to exclude anything that the TV Show hasn't had the chance to cover yet. But I'm more talking about how in the comics, Rick can seem like a great guy on second, and then just flashes to being an anti-hero, and then back again. I get that big events can change the characters' perception and such, but that's really the only way that Rick in the comic goes through his ups and downs as a character. Rick from the TV Show has more gradual changes. I like that.
As for a drop in quality... Well if you want to talk lighting effects, I don't really like Charlie's Adlard's artwork that much, and he makes some big mistakes or poorly drawn panels or splashes too. Let's keep this to the characters and writing, stuff like that. But really, I didn't notice much drop in qu… [view original content]
Darabont is known to be a great translator of literary creations into the big screen, but he was fired by the almighty cunts (amc) because the cheap whore Mazzara was WAY cheaper.
The problem with the show is that they fired Frank Darabont over nothing and basically stole the show from him.
He's the one that made se… moreason 1 so good and true to the universe of the comic. Then they kept changing writers after that and the show became somewhat inconsistent in it's overall quality.
Might I add that Frank Darabont directed the Shawshank Redemption...a masterpiece in my opinion.
They ruined good characters, killed Dale because the actor was friend with Darabont and made the second season a boring mess that dragged on too long.
So yeah, the game is overall better for its excellent writing and griping story. Hopefully they won't do the same mistakes the show did...
Actually it was so true to the comics that he made sure season 1 was 6 episodes long so it'll fit to volume 1 which is 6 issues long.
Yeah he may have changed some characters and stuff, but that was to keep the ones who have already read the comics interested while staying true to the origin (the comics).
I laugh everytime I see someone say season one is true to comic. The only episode that followed the comic was the first one and the second o… morene borrowed one element from it. Huh. 6/10 is a bit generous for the comic. Bland and horrible writing there.
Haven't seen season four because I lost faith in the show du… morering its third season, but the first two seasons are great.
The game is virtually eclipsed over the other mediums.
The first half of Season 4 is good shit, the whole Governor arc continues and ends in the first half, and it ends with a bang. The second half is more character driven and slower, but I feel that it lacked quite a bit.
Talking to Kenny on the train was very well down with words as well, as was Kenny talking to Katjaa before Duck died, Carver's little insane speeches, I don't think that Kirkman is the best. I just honestly don't.
And even if the comics win some points for having well-written speeches, That still doesn't put them up for being better than the game.
As for the TV Show speech, it doesn't really have elements of anything Kirkman has done aside from the "too Far Gone" line, which was used in a totally different context. So... No.
And yeah, Negan is a great villain, just not as well written as some of the others in the series. I mean, I'd give him fourth or third(third depending on how he progresses).
Overall, I still hold that objectively, the game is better in many aspects. You keep using examples of Kirkman's writing in the speeches, but as for actual character and emotion, Telltale clearly is better, and that's what's really important.
No, I didn't say he made it bad on purpose, I said he took the comics into one direction and wrote his take on the world, and on the TV show… more he and a bunch of more writers expanded the uncharted stories, the ones that weren't developed much and also tried new approaches and characters like Daryl, I'm in no way saying it was on purpose, I'm saying he did something on the comics, and something different in the show.

Well the if you rewatch the the scene she sees the walker and screams before it even bites her and rather than move her hand away she keeps it in the some spot pretty much just standing their and taking it. The scene is still seems hastily done.
Im pretty sure she was in shock from some creature out of nowhere biting into her flesh. Anyone would be. She wasnt standing there with a bl… moreank look on her face, she was screaming in terror. Ive never seen a zombie movie where people immediately started hiting and kicking and soon as their bitten.
Did you stop after 1 volume? That's not a way to read comics.
Too harsh for someone who probably stopped after 1 volume.
Is this your only argument for people who dislike the comics?
Anyways, the comics lost their appeal after the Hunters Arc. There a couple of times I can recall when Kirkman cannot write basic and normal human interaction (see Glenn and Maggie panels below), and he rewrites plot sequences but attributes them to different characters as the series goes on, making a few of them un-relatable and one-dimensional. Rehashing plotlines in order to drag out the comic was a sure fire way to make me leave the comics. Negan isn't terribly different from the Governor, and Alexandria/Hilltop/Negan's community are just rehashes of the Prison/Woodbury.
I get your devotion to Kirkman and the comic. But there are people who prefer the show and game.
If you can bring real examples to what you're saying I'll consider to reply
Fact stands that the fan base of the comics is enormous , and the only people I've ever seen to have problems and dislike Roberts writing is you guys, and you're clearly wrong, for every example of his "bad writing" I can bring you TWO examples of how good he is.

yeah like I said, maybe it gets better as the comics go on but this was embarrassing to read

Fine, fact singular. Or better yet, opinion.
Thats a very interesting analogy I have to say lol
Oh.Dislikes.How convenient
Yup, but Idk how to feel about the recent time skip...
ANDREA LOOKS THE EXACT SAME ASDSGFHJKL

Why not all three? It's doesn't have to be a competition. To be honest, I love The Walking Dead anything.
If someone haven't read the comics they won't know what the hell is going on there anyway
Example: Me.
I took it as a glare in his eyes, full of hope, it looks weird but it's because he was excited.
No one knows if he did, there was no chance to find out if he meant it or not
Thanks, it's what I'm here for.
Sorry if I spoiled you there, it just looks like everyone know and talk about it fluently without putting a spoiler tag, it isn't that bad anyway but I put a spoiler tag now.
No biggie. it doesn't bother me, but some people could get angry![:3 :3](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/blush.png)
They'd know that it's Carl...
And Charlie Adlard draws them looking weird sometimes. Example: Carl up until the five most recent books.

People have a hard time accepting others' opinions, just ignore it and get used for that kind of shit.
