What if Christa died instead of Omid?
Title really says it all, but what if Christa tried disarming Michelle, but Michelle turned around and shot Christa right in her womb. Christa clutches her pregnant stomach raises her hand and sees blood as the camera zooms out and simply collapses. Michelle is horrified, Omid bursts in with the rifle, sees Christa and shoots Michelle, collapses and cries then looks at the gun and Clementine.
Now, I wouldn't mind this as Omid became angry when he thought he lost Christa. During Episode Three from Season One if you bring Omid instead of Christa on the train. Omid becomes furious. During Episode Four from Season One, when the group thought Omid was dead, Christa looked more sad and grief-stricken rather than angry which implies that Omid wouldn't be the comical optimist but a rather dark pessimist perhaps even moreso than Christa but I would imagine he'd still care for Christa. At best he may try to be optimistic or comical but both traits would fall flat.
Telltale could also make a moment in Season One, Episode Three foreshadowing this event. As when Kenny meets Omid he teaches him how to use a train despite losing his wife and son hours ago. Kenny seems to have some experience or knowledge to using a train prior to losing both Katjaa and Duck.
Now since Omid gained experience or knowledge to use a train, it would somewhat foreshadow that he would lose his wife and child just like Kenny did in the future.
But that's just my opinion. What do you guys think would happen if Christa died instead of Omid? Would you prefer it this way and if so why?

While I'm sure Omid would try, I don't think he would have been able to keep Clem alive as long as Christa did. It was kind of established that Christa was the badass survivalist of the pair. Omid was kind of just that funny guy that everyone liked to be around but was pretty reliant on others. And who knows how that would change after losing his girlfriend and unborn child.
Mind you, Omid didn't have the 'no groups' policy Christa did, so he might have gotten into one with Clem.
THE FEELS.
If Omid was angry at Lee picking him up onto the train when he had a broken leg, I wonder how he'd react if Clementine was indirectly responsible for his wife's death. Makes you think about what he'd do to Clementine.
I made a thread like this once, a lot of the reactions were that he'd lose it or would completley change as a character, something a lot darker and bitter. I honestly don't know if he could handle taking care of Clem after losing his wife and baby.
I actually don't think he'd have put it together at all. I know you said he'd have looked at the gun and then Clem, but...I think it was like Christa's personality to be able to think that clearly after something so shocking. I can't see him shooting the lady there, either. The lady dropped the gun. I could imagine him screaming "what did you do!," "why!," or something to that effect rather than the instant gutshot. MAYBE shooting her after that.
I don't think he'd have blamed Clem, either. He'd have been completely grief-stricken and unable to function to that point.
At the same time, if he did put it together, I can see him confronting her about it. Maybe after she said something like "Talk to me Omi-" He'd cut her off with a sharp "Why did she have your gun, Clem?" and then saying nothing else.
I can see him later committing suicide by recklessly doing something. If they made it as far as that same situation in the woods (I think him capable of that seeing as "Omid was going to teach me" was a conversation option,) he'd have died recklessly fighting the people that attacked them in the woods.
He would treat her like a Foster kid in trouble. Probably a good thing she survived instead of him.
I feel like he would become darker but at the same time see the world for what it is, and in order to protect Clementine take on the role of 'survivalist' that Christa once had. In other words, he'd lose his optimistic and funny atmosphere but in turn become tougher yet also darker.
