I agree the game is better than the show, but NO ONE can outmaster Robert Kirkman, and it's a different sort of media so it's not fair to compare them.
Story and writing wise, the comics are unbeatable.
Adults do not change in appearance very drastically over the course of two years. What did you want? Rick looks different simply because his beard got longer. Carl looks different because he is a child, and children do look drastically different in two years.
That scene in the train and the other good moments in the game were really good, but I don't remember anything that had me glare at the screen while thinking it's pure genius.
I'm not saying the comics' reputation is saved by good speeches, yeah that's the best written parts in the comics but there are plenty casual and non-important scenes where they say amazing things.

Point is, for every example someone will bring for his "bad" writing, I'll bring two, because it's just like that, actually I think you know what Robert is capable of since you have also read the novels he wrote where he is way more detailed and uses great metaphors.
The "Too Far Gone" was used in both comics and show to describe people who had gone too far to changed back, either it was from being merciless killers who stopped being humane like the Governor (like in the TV show) or the context in volume 13 which was also the same, I'll quote the description:
"The members of Rick's group settle into their new roles in the Alexandria Safe-Zone, and Rick, as constable, tries to make the place safer by stopping a dangerous man inside the community. But, could Rick and his battle-scarred compatriots be too far gone to live a peaceful life again?".
I think some people agree with you that emotion is "what's really important" but most emotion is transmitted through the writing and the kind words Lee says to Clem and vise versa , and I can also bring you some examples of that in the comics, but a black and white picture can't be more emotional than a girl with a REAL voice that can be heard crying in front of her dying loved one, so it's really not fair to compare comics and video games.
Talking to Kenny on the train was very well down with words as well, as was Kenny talking to Katjaa before Duck died, Carver's little insane… more speeches, I don't think that Kirkman is the best. I just honestly don't.
And even if the comics win some points for having well-written speeches, That still doesn't put them up for being better than the game.
As for the TV Show speech, it doesn't really have elements of anything Kirkman has done aside from the "too Far Gone" line, which was used in a totally different context. So... No.
And yeah, Negan is a great villain, just not as well written as some of the others in the series. I mean, I'd give him fourth or third(third depending on how he progresses).
Overall, I still hold that objectively, the game is better in many aspects. You keep using examples of Kirkman's writing in the speeches, but as for actual character and emotion, Telltale clearly is better, and that's what's really important.

At this point, it's all just opinion, because I can't say much else but I disagree, I think that the moments in the game are better written than the moments in the comics. I can see that I probably won't able to convince you, but this was a good exercise I suppose.

Lee didn't really sacrifice anything because he had nothing to sacrifice. He saw being Clementine's guardian as a way to redeem himself for the sins he committed against those he loved. As soon as he got bit, he used every inch of his life to save her. That's not sacrificing your life.

Well I'm okay with the show, there are downsides to it, but overall I'm cool with it. Besides, it gives me something to watch on Cable TV when I draw.
