Why was Matthew never mentioned?

So, we all know Matthew. The guy on the bridge that was shot in the throat by Nick. He fell off the bridge shortly afterwards. Now, near the end of the second episode, we can either tell Walter the truth or hide it. When Kenny comes running out through the door, he says:
"Walt? What's going on?"
Now I thought, at this point, that he was asking Walt why he was acting so weird. When Matthew wasn't mentioned by Sarita or Kenny in Ep2's remaining time or in Ep3 at all, I'm beginning to think Kenny's either gotten over his friend very quickly, or TellTale has just forgotten about Matthew altogether.
Any thoughts?

I don't think Kenny knows Matthew is dead, I suspect he believed Matthew was still out for his walk and that he may still be alive now and come back to the ski lodge to find everyone missing and Walter dead on the floor. Hopefully we can tell Kenny the truth in the next episode, maybe he'll tell Clementine he's worried about Matthew and Clementine will break the news to him.
I suspect Sarita will miss Matthew dearly, it seems they had a good relationship. Damn.
Perhaps it to do with the situation with Carver that interrupted the entire plot of Season 2, and were so focused with trying to escape they didn't find the opportunity to ask where Matthew was or get to know each other more.
I think by the time Episode 4 comes along, the group will resume to where they were before Carver's interruption and hopefully start answering questions again.
Hopefully some 'questions' will be answered. I thought that he would be brought up in the truck on the way to Carver's camp.
At this point does it really even matter? I don't think the group would be thinking about Walt/Matty when Sarita is bit, and Carlos/Alvin (determinant) is dead.
If we do get this option to tell them, I just hope kenny won't get super angry at nick and try to kill him or something, but knowing kenny it might happen
There was a timeskip between EP2 and EP3. About 20 to 22 hours. It has just gotten dark at the end of EP2, and it's dark again when they enter "the yard". I pretty sure Kenny found out in that time? And at Carvers camp they just had more importent things to do.
I don't think it will ever be brought up again, people won't be reflecting on what happened a week ago, they will be thinking about the moment.
Well, maybe they remember him after? Idk...
I just don't see them having the time to squeeze that dialog in there, the episodes are already short enough and they have a lot of story to develop, if they did do this to me it would be like backpedaling the story, and we don't want to do that.
I guess...just seems like a plothole.
i'm just a fan like you, maybe you will get your answers in Season 4, never know ^_^
I hope.
There's a lot of minor characters that don't get mentioned again. In the zombie apocalypse, you have a lot more to worry about than talking about someone who died. Dwelling on the deaths of friends can only lead you into depression and depression can get you killed. At the time, the group had Carver's gun in their face so you really think they really want to take 5 minutes to talk about someone who died? They were more interested in figuring out how to escape and figure out where Luke was. If Kenny did bring it up and got pissed over Matthew's death with Nick (if he lived), then that could have derailed the plot from where they wanted it to go. In the end, they have to decide what is really worth putting in and what is just a waste of time or slows down the plot too much. Movies cut scenes all the time because they either don't serve to move the plot or slow it down. Matthew's death served its purpose. What point is there to bring him up again except to have Kenny get pissed at Nick? If Nick's dead, then there's no reason for the scene at all. There's more to worry about than the death of a single man who was on screen for like 2 minutes. Food, shelter, getting the hell away from Carver's group. In that world, you stop for 5 minutes to rest and you're dead. There is no time to mourn, and while it's nice to reflect on those lost, it's better to just keep looking forward lest you fall into a depression when you realize you're the last one of your friends and family standing.
I hope this till happen, and maybe some Ben references could come out of this.
Calm down for a second, dude. I'm just saying that these guys are human, not just zombie killing machines that kill zombies and survive. It's human nature to mourn over the death of loved ones. Especially since it seemed that Walt, Matthew, Sarita, and Kenny were very close.
And remember, Nick was depressed for almost a week about Pete, and he turned out OK (determinant, I guess).
Nah, I think we'll get out answers in TWAU Ep 5, Bigby IS a detective.
