A Rant about Sarah

  • If someone killed a good friend of mine, including punching someone I am trying to protect, blinding my eye and beating the shit out of me, taking me as a captive, and threatening the only "family I had left"; I would enjoy the hell out of that moment as well.

Trust me, I know what it's like to be beaten up and fucked over constantly, I was bullied literally all the time in when I was younger (7-15) the teachers didn't do shit. If I had the chance to seriously-injure those bullies during those years, I would've done it.

Did you count all the time the group wastes trying to convince him to just shoot him? Or the time he spends menacingly standing over Carver? Or the time they waste after Troy catches them thanks to Kenny's lolly-gagging?

I can understand why Kenny wanted to kill Carver in the most unnecessarily drawn out, brutal manner possible, but it was still stupid. He knew they had to escape, Rebecca and Clem both tell him to just shoot Carver and get it over with quickly, Carlos and Clem both tell him that they have to leave immediately and that there's no time for dramatics, to which Kenny simply says "I'm making time". Yeah, good freaking job with that Kenny.

Put a time factor into the situation you mentioned, where someone killed a good friend of yours, punched someone your trying to protect, etc. Brutally murdering the guy would be satisfying, yes, but I wouldn't risk my group's safety to satisfy my bloodlust.

And I'm really sorry to hear about the bullying, I can kind of relate. I never got beaten up at school (the bullies were too smart to try), but they sure as hell tried to torment me in any way that didn't get the teacher's attention. Calling me names, telling me to fuck off during recess... there was even a guy who'd try to kiss me, touch me, etc. no matter how many times I told him to stop, just because he wanted to get a reaction out of me.

I wouldn't mind lashing back at those people too, if they'd actually beaten me up I'd want that even more, but I'd never risk my group's safety to do that. Just one quick bullet to the head.

  • Good point... eh, I don't know, maybe she just has very bad memory? :P

I mean, she does say that she can't remember who Carver is when he shows up at the cabin, even though she should really know who he is.

But they left when Carver was going "crazy" so that simply and clearly tells Sarah how bad he is,and if that wasn't enough then how about he

  • Blaming Sarah for her father's death is ridiculous, so is blaming Kenny, or anyone else out of the group. Here's a couple of things to take into account regarding this "time factor" you keep bringing up:

When Kenny, Rebecca and Clem exit the loading dock you can see the shooters to the left of the building. Everybody then covers themselves in guts. Troy appears and starts yelling, drawing walkers. Jane shoots Troy. Troy then begins screaming, and continues to scream as he is being torn apart. As Jane finishes her "act like you belong" dialogue you can clearly hear someone from the roof saying: "Get over here." Troy's yelling, the gunshot, and continued screaming seems to indicate what brought the shooters from the roof to that location.

Now had they left earlier and had been further along in the herd, Jane wouldn't have been close enough to take out Troy once he came from the loading dock. Troy could have then begun to directly fire into the herd, and the group from ground level, more than likely drawing the shooters from the roof. Leaving the group to deal with incoming gunfire from two fronts, and putting them at far more risk.

You can draw whatever conclusions you want, but trying to lay unnecessary blame on a character because you don't like that character is nonsense.

Basically. The time Kenny unnecessarily wastes was more than enough time for the group to get through the herd before Carver's people showed

  • Why would Troy stand there on the ground in the direct path of the oncoming walkers to shoot them when he could just do it from the roof? Naw, he wouldn't even have gone out there if he hadn't seen the group covering themselves in blood and been curious. At least I don't think he would have.
