Confused over TWDG

edited June 2014 in The Walking Dead

DON'T JUDGE ME WHEN YOU READ THIS.
I feel like I'm obsessed with TWDG. I don't know if you guys are too, but TWDG consumes my almost every thought.
I also have a confession to make. I've never played TWDG. Because, I've never had a game system to play it with. To watch TWDG I go on YouTube and watch game plays of it, usually PewDiePie (don't judge me he's hilarious IMO.) I didn't hear about the game until July 2013, while watching videos on his channel and I kept seeing TWDG in the suggestions. So, I thought "Why not, I don't have anything else to do." The sad part of it is I watched all of season one within a day.
I'm thinking of buying something cheap, Like a PlayStation Vita over the Summer to play it. I just feel like I'm getting so attached. I don't know if I should start trying to get over TWDG or start playing it myself. I feel like if I play it myself I'll be mega-obsessed with it. Any advice?

  • Ever since December 17 90% of my thoughts are about TWD while the rest 10% are either sleeping or thinking about what to eat. It's ok if you only watched but i don't really know what to think about pewdiepie....

  • Play it, damn it. Clementine demands it.

Get over it? GET OVER IT?

    GET OVER IT?

    Please.

    Just play the game man.

  • I'd say play it, it has even more of an impact on you playing it than watching it.

  • I guess I could. I'll be out of school. The last day is this Thursday, and the first day is September 2nd. So, I guess I have a lot of time.

  • So. I'm guessing all of you guys here are obsessed?

You're not? I mean, you aren't 100% sure you are?

  • I feel the same way but I played it before becoming obsessed so once I played it and ended S1, I became addicted and I have felt the same way over this game for almost a year now. (Btw don't worry I watched his videos too after playing :P)

I think you should play it anyway because from my experience, it's so much better to play it yourself and experience it how you'd play.

  • I am, I was asking if you all were.

  • I think about this game ALL DAY EVERY DAY.

im beyond obsessed. and im not worried about it, if it makes me happy, then why should i be worried?

I used to be scared about being to obsessed, but I don't worry about it. if you start spending all your money on stuff about the game to the pint were you don't have enough money to feed ourselves, then be worried.

I used to do the same exact thing as you. I used to watch it on youtube and all. but people told me its better to accualy play it. so I bought the season 2 pass (201 had already been released at the time) and I love playing it more than watching it. BUT you have to have fast hands and know all your controls and all before getting into a new episode first!

if I were you, I wouldn't worry to much about being over obsessed lol. literally, take me serious, when I say I think about it to the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. im not friken exaggerating. im dead friken serious.
My body even WAKES ITSELF UP like an hour early just so I can go onto the forums early in the morning before I go to school.
I act out random scenes of the game when im alone and in my mind 24/7

like I said before. as long as your not going poor or anything, I wouldn't worry. :D hope I made you feel better.

^its a lot, but read it.

edit: oh ya, an forgot to mention. that's not even all of it lol. I just finished watching a fan-made trailer about 20 times because I loved it so much. and still counting. (the trailer was friken awesome)

  • The lack of significant game releases is the problem. We've got what? South Park, Dark Souls 2 and Watch_Dogs, and we are already on the middle of the year!

At least for me, that's what has been keeping me focused on TWAU and TWD S2, the only two games that can get me excited.

And with all these great games delayed to 2015.... Maaaaan, 2014 will be a bad year for gaming... Aside from Dragon Age, GTA V PC (IF they release it), Assassin's Creed Unity, the conclusions of TWAU and TWD, and maybev Tales from the Borderlands, I don't see anything else getting me hyped.

  • Yes. Yes i am.

  • A lot of great looking games are getting delayed to next year, Witcher 3, Arkham Knight, but to answer your original question, I'm gonna get a lot of dislikes for this statement but...I don't think you fully need too, don't get me wrong I love the WD game, I really do, it's easily my favorite game out there and I've played tons of games from pc classics like Planescape Torment to modern classics like Skyrim, but I think what makes games like this so brilliant is that first run, maybe it's just me, but when I first finished WD I stopped and sat there thinking over everything I'd experienced and seen over that last year downloading and playing the game bit by bit. And it was amazing, but I think what makes games like this so special is not knowing whats gonna happen to characters you care about and making choices you feel are the best thing in a bad situation. But replaying it for yourself, you might lose a lot of that, considering choices in a game like this are powerful because they are personal.

I don't think anything I said in that massive rambling was too evil so can I not get dislikes to the level I got when I said I doubt there will be a Wolf Among Us season 2

  • I doubt that there will be a TWAU S2 too....

  • I agree with you, and see where you're coming from. I just want to play it myself, because a lot of YouTubers make cut scenes from a lot of things, like hubs and just plain dialogue. I'm probably going to play every single episode, plus 400 days.

  • If you really want to play it then go for it, it's not expensive so if you still get as many feels on a second run then go for it. Oh and play Planescape Torment. Not just you I mean everyone. Everyone. EVERYONE.

  • My thoughts exactly. Watch_Dogs was kind of a dissapontement to me.

  • If you have a computer or mobile device (which im assume you do because you've posted this) you could have already played the game....

  • The only thing I'm really hyped for is dragon age. (Other than telltales stuff). They pushed batman to 2015 dammit! Well, I guess that gives me more time to save up for a next gen console :/

  • dont watches pewdiepie he ruins the game

  • Don't you worry, I'm obsessed with this game too.

I don't know how did this happened... but there's not a day that I don't think in Twdg, it kind of has an importance to my live, Twdg sent me so many emotions and feels and I learned so much with this game that is hard not to think about it.

  • It depends on your point of view, I like watching him play too.

dont watches pewdiepie he ruins the game

  • Try elctroshock therapy... or buy the game. Whatever you feel would help you more.

No, not really. This is not even the forum I spend the most time on.

  • Get it! there is still two episodes and the whole season 2 (if didn't watched it) you still can enjoy it

  • HOLY SHIT

ME TOO. I started watching it on Pewds channel last June, just out of boredom. I downloaded and just played both seasons just a while ago.
Trust me, playing it is a whole new experience!

  • I'm on a lap top, and no I haven't played the game through my lap top, because I don't want it to be all buggy and start being all slow. I rather get a PS Vita and just play it through that, since I have other games I'm interested in playing.

    1. No such thing as 'over-obsessed' when it comes to The Walking Dead Season One Game by TellTaleGames. No. Such. Thing.
    2. There is a PS Vita bundle with TWDG already installed. That's how I was introduced to TTG and the series. It's a good way to start.
