Moustache evolved into a beard. Became OP, trimmed the beard cause Sarita couldn't handle it and that's it really. All the other stuff like meeting Walt and Matthew was more filler.
I would think that he was a mess by the time he got out of Savannah and just sort of gave up after wandering alone for a while. Probably drank a lot and didn't care about his health.
He also probably killed someone judging from how happy he was when he shot Johnny. Then eventually Sarita found him and he traveled with her while regaining his will to live.

I got the impression that he just... Drifted from place to place after S1. Not really living, just aimlessly moving till Sarita came along.
Throughout those 2 years he learned to master Stache State(Avatar State) he learned to become one with his past Mustaches Life.
He went back to the jewelry store and trained with Lee's spirit to become... Bearded Kenny!
