The Last of Us Character Parallels
I feel like this season has parallels characters to TLoU characters.
Joel = Kenny
Willing to do anything to protect the people they care about. Even if it means having to brutally kill people in cold blood, leaving people behind, etc. People's lives mean nothing to them if they don't care for them.
Tommy = Luke
Both good guys and care about people. Putting their morals before their survival. They both value people's lives and are not willing to take it just because it's convenient. Both also seem upset with what their polar opposites are willing to do to survive (Luke upset with Kenny wanting to kill Carver and Tommy upset with what Joel had to do so both of them could survive which involves killing).

Does that mean Kenny protagonist for Season 3?
Pretty interesting observations. If this were talking about season 1, I would've pegged Lee as the Joel type character especially with his relationship to Clem, but I actually do think Kenny suits Joel's personality more, especially since I remember Naughty Dog saying they were inspired by the character from The Road, and Gavin Hammon commented that he plays Kenny like that character too. But does this mean that Christa could be considered like Marlene since they both look after our young protagonist for a period of time and were entrusted to be their guardian?
I just hope Christa doesn't meet Marlene's fate.
I wouldn't say these are so much character parallels as much as they are a variety of characters who all fit the same basic tropes that come with the package of almost any post-apocalyptic story.
Clementine and Ellie are so similar yet so different.. Their situation that they are in is almost identical but their personalities are so different...
Now that you mention it Tommy and Luke are alike because they dont support killing or acting violently and have cool heads.
And Kenny and Joel are pretty similar too because they both care about what is necessary to survive but Joel shows to us that he is scarred.. Kenny seems like he is pretending to be normal but might one day snap and go on a full craze.
I love TWD and TLOU but i think Clementime and Ellie are characters that shouldn't be compared. They're both completely unique.
Me too, but like everyone's been saying they're totally different characters, so I highly doubt Christa will end up like Marlene.
Carver/David?
The Last of Us took a shit load from TWD. The doggy door, Lee & Clem's relationship, some other things I can't remember but if I replay I will remember.
Hate it when people compare Clem to Ellie, no offence. Ellie's entire vocabulary is "Fuck, Shit, Bitch, Motherfucker" as she shoots and stabs through thousands of people without remorse, showing no fear in the process. I NEVER want Clem to be like that.

1.The both had normal lives before the zombie apocalypse
2.He was a loving father and She was a loving daughter
the both lost everything and started to become more cold and cynical as the zombie apocalypse dragged on
They both struggle to retain what is left of their humanity
Ellie was born after the apocalypse had already happened and she never got to experience what the world was like before it
she cant even begin to comprehend the loss that joel and Clementine have suffered
Maybe Clementine could be compared to Ellie if she swore like a sailor, or Negan.

The Last of Us did not take anything from TWD Lol. The Last Of Us is based off the movie '' The Road'' '' No Country For Old Men''. It had TWD Easter Eggs is all.
So yea most of it's inspiration came from the movies I mentioned...

Telltale wouldn't do that, they made clem to be a different character not someone else. They made becca to show how every teen girl would be in the apocalypse,what makes clem such a great character is that she is her own character not someone elses (carver like you are saying) . Also not trying to come off as a dick but what needs to be said needs to be said
