Well, no. But would still like it much better than playing Kenny. I'm a real fan of Kenny, especially after In Harm's Way, but he works best as the guy who's always there for you... kinda... Although I feels Kennys story will end in S2 and Lukes might not...
I am sort of hoping that if Telltale continues on with TWDG, Clem gets a little older and we play her as she grows up. Imagine if we got 5 seasons: Season One, where we are introduced to Clem and she her as a little girl who still has most of her innocence. In Season Two, we play as her in the aftermath of Lee's death as an 11 year-old, hardened from Season One but still a child at heart. I don't know where they are taking the story, but the rest of the seasons could explore more things and develop who Clementine becomes even further. Season Three could have her as a 14 year-old, Season Four as a 17 year-old, and Season Five as a 20 year-old. In Season Five we could finally see the transformation from the little girl hiding in a tree house Lee found to a strong survivor who has faced all sorts of horrors as she faces the world with what Lee taught her. Just wishful thinking, but it would still be pretty cool.
I've always seen TWD as a story of Clementine's journey and growth. Now that she's matured and has become the playable character, it would feel unnatural for anyone else to take that role unless her story reached its end. When you play as a certain character, the audiences' focus is placed directly on them; if it were anyone other than Clem, to me it would take away from her individual journey.
so you guys wanna play clem for rest of your lifes... okay! just feeling weird im the odd one out on these forums. trust me i like this game same as you guys
Meh. Im not fond of any of the new characters introduced in season 2. The only memorable character introduced in season two has been Carver. If there is a season three, i wouldn't mind a total reboot in a new part of the world, TBH.
I think Kenny would be a better protagonist than Luke at least. Kenny is more conflicted about the decisions that he makes, he is capable of making some moral decisions, or more pragmatic decisions. Luke is purely good, he wouldn't even kill Carver.

But Clems story won't be over with S2!
Not a chance. Luke is a goody-two-shoes and the best Player Character is always one whose morals aren't grounded. Like Clem, she's a kid so it makes sense she would change along the way into a more brutal person or a more caring person, or have any existing convictions reinforced. Kids change on the journey to adulthood and that makes it easier to make them a PC, is what I'm saying.
With Lee, it was different because he was, more or less, a blank slate for us to give our morality to.
I am sort of hoping that if Telltale continues on with TWDG, Clem gets a little older and we play her as she grows up. Imagine if we got 5 s… moreeasons: Season One, where we are introduced to Clem and she her as a little girl who still has most of her innocence. The only character I'd even consider being the protagonist aside from Clem would be Kenny, and even then I understand that that isn't a popular opinion, but Kenny is a very conflicted character, and he's capable of making both moral and pragmatic decisions. Luke would be a very odd choice. The guy was upset that Clem killed a dog who was attacking her, and he wouldn't even consider killing Carver, who basically had to go.
The problem remaining with Kenny being a playable character is that he's very aggressive and impulsive, and that isn't likely to change. So... Yeah, I'd rather Clem remained the protagonist, my second choice would be Kenny, and I'd probably be more open to a new protagonist than anyone we currently have in the group as a third option.
It would be odd because I don't feel connected to him (if that makes sense) I could see Kenny being a playable character but not Luke. I think they will stick with Clem for at least one more Season before moving on.

And I have to disagree. Telltale can explore so many new angles as she gets older. A lot of zombie franchises focus on the violence and constant action, but TWDG explores the apocalypse's effect on our psyche and morals, how people handle the hell the world has become. Seeing even further how the apocalypse and her experiences affect Clementine would make the game into something even more profound than it already is. I wouldn't lose interest in her story that easily. I think there's a whole lot more to tell.
im a new guy here on forums, just wanted to ask if i get too many down thumbs will i get banned or what? because i got like 50 down thumbs in this thread
I'm a big Luke fan, but no, this is Clementine's world and I wouldn't want to play as anyone but her for a long time, possibly forever (with the exception of DLC or something). Playable characters are better off being blank slates we don't know or otherwise very impressionable and malleable like kids are, and people like Luke and especially Kenny are too well defined already.
No, you won't be banned. You aren't doing anything wrong or against the rules. Some people can be a little trigger happy with the dislike button (I'm sure this comment will get it's fair share) but don't let it bother you. Sorry that this is the welcome you got. Anyway, don't let this deter you from speaking your mind.

That was more of an interactive cutscene, aside from clicking zombies so Lee just slashes them the way Telltale lets him, you have no goddamn impact (yeah, sure, you can choose the glass shard as a weapon, if you leave Lee's hand. Incredible change). This is a point-and-click adventure, not a first person shooter or some sort of zombie slasher.
It's a narrative about characters and their story, and so far I'm interested in Clementine's story.

Here we go this thread is gonna go to war watch when the Luke Fans get on.

I am a luke fan but still would rather play as Clem than Luke
Anyone else? How about that little girl, what's-her-name, that we were playing before (and still are)? How about playing as her?
Hm... this is my reaction
I dont mean you specifically some one is gonna start going at it you know this it always happens
ok it comes down to preference but playing as a kid is not fun for me even though she might not be a kid in reality, s3 needs change
Hahahahahahhhahhaahahha.
Oh wait, you're serious. Let me laugh even harder!
HAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
honestly though, I feel like luke's personality is clearly defined, so leaving it up to the player at this point seems weird.
Well, it's your opinion. For me it's fun to play as child for a change because there are so many strong adults in video games.

as an afrikaaner would say, Nee dank domkragt.

That's a real bad idea, man. Variety is what makes TWD franchise stay fresh. Even Kirkman realised this and made a two-year skip in the comics.

no not Clem perhaps, but at least a character that has not been defined already.
Stick to Clem for the 3rd season and then if they do a 4th season have a new playable character with a completely new story
First of all...
